Also, how are you working out your exercise calories?
-
1930 calories seems right to me looking at your starting weight. Just make sure you re-evaluate that as times go. Of course I'm not an expert in any way, shape or form, but I think working with such a high deficit won't be a huge problem for you at the moment. You may want to gradually increase the calories you're…

The only way you're going to get a more accurate reading is by using a heart rate monitor. In the meantime I would go with the lower calories. My motto when estimating is to overestimate food calories and underestimate exercise.

Definitely agree with whats been said. The salmon that you eat raw in a restaurant is of a certain quality (sashimi) and is VERY fresh. I wouldn't eat the salmon raw from a supermarket as they are often sent to the supermarket frozen and defrosted there - so there is no guarantee about how fresh it is, or what the quality…

WOW!! That is so inspirational!! You look amazing!!

Hey! I just saw your post in the other thread and wanted to say PLEASE don't be discouraged! Being honest with yourself is the first step and you're here trying to make a difference to your life - so don't listen to the negative nelly's out there!

Hey there, Just checked out your diary and you did actually net around 1200 calories - MFP nets it for you so you don't have to work it out for yourself. My main suggestion would be to eat some more fresh, unprocessed foods. Get more bang for your buck! Instead of using your calories on small amounts of calorie dense foods…

Hey there, If you would like to open your food diary we might be able to give you some clearer, more personalised advice. However some very general tips: 1. You may be eating too few calories. Try eating more throughout the day and it will give your metabolism a jump start. After depriving your body for so long it may be…

If you do a google search for 1200 calorie meal plan (or any number of calories) several meal plans come up

If you aren't hungry don't make yourself eat! Thats what got most of us here in the first place - not listening to our bodies. Just try to not forget meals during the day, or eat more at your designated meal times, or have higher calorie dense foods (though still healthy) instead of stuffing yourself when you aren't…

Using your Gilbert Grape reference, just remind yourself that you don't want to be like Momma Grape!! Losing weight is a bloody hard thing to do when you're not ready. You need to flick that switch in your head and realise you deserve to be healthy. You deserve to look after your body. You don't deserve the junk. And…

Step exercises are good, fairly low impact but can get your heart rate going. Try googling if you don't have much luck on here! Some great websites out there!

Great work!! You can really see a huge difference!!

The best way is not to put yourself on a 'diet'. Make changes to your lifestyle that will last forever. Eat fresh, unprocessed foods, drink water and exercise. Focus on making yourself healthy not 'skinny.' Other little things that help are planning meals in advance, freezing a few healthy soups or casseroles to have when…

Thank you! I have a big bag of dry black beans that I bought when I wanted to try Black Bean Brownies, and just bought some Quinoa so will definitely give this a try!

I find it always helps to really remember why you're doing this. I also like to think about the way my life has improved since I've started being healthier. An important step for me to take this time was to really focus on this as a lifestyle change. You hear people throw that phrase around all the time, and I have in the…

First I will probably squeal. Then I'm going to book an appointment with a personal stylist so I can make the most of my new body!

Remember as well that there are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many more benefits to exercise than just weight loss!!!!!!! MFP also has built in your calorie deficit so you only need to worry about net calories. You need to fuel your body to perform at it's best. But also, listen to what your body is telling…

I officially hate you  I had the worst time with the implant. I had my period (super heavy) for 7 months and cramps the whole time! And I put on 15kgs in that time. Obviously not just the implant but I ended up really iron deficient so was really weak and had worst cramps which sometimes made me vomit! I would…

I think your body shape has a large influence on this! You have "shape" - that is you have a defined waist. I'm similar to you and people I know who weigh less than me often look bigger because of where they are holding weight.

Also just wanted to add a tip for busy people, people with kids, people too embarrassed to run in public: I did it in my backyard. I have a 3yo daughter, single parent, so time is fairly limited. Also going for a run with a 3yo is tough as she doesn't like being in a pram any more. I go for walks with her but they are…

I'm a girl, but going from my experience with men and my own experiences of being attracted to men, I think a lot of men (and women) have a "type" that they say is their ideal type (like for me I say "tall, pale skin, dark hair etc) but in reality not every guy I have dated or been attracted to looks like that. Does that…

Sparkpeople.com It is a site like this one with a calorie tracker etc. But they also have the option of using their meal plans which can also generate a shopping list.

HI guys! Just wanted to report in that I actually stuck to my plan and started C25K. I couldn't complete the last 2 intervals of jogging, but I kept walking. This is actually quite an achievement for me as I have never ran in my life! And I am about 35 kilos overweight so pretty happy with my effort! Looking forward to…

I am/was pretty much the same as you. I have found it a lot easier to cut out these foods than what I thought I would. I think because I am eating healthier I am not craving those foods as much. I still love them but I don't think about them all the time lol. My main trick is to make healthier versions of foods. For…

Hahah don't worry - I think most people feel ridiculous doing home workouts etc - I know I do!! But you gotta do what you gotta do :p Feel free to add me on here if you like! We can encourage eachother to feel ridiculous!

Hey there!! Good news! You don't need a gym to exercise :-) You can simply add walking/running/jogging to your routine, buy some exercise dvds etc. Also recommend looking at some strength training - plenty of resources on the internet to give you some ideas of what you can do at home with little to no expense. Good luck!
-
Hey!! Yes I would LOVE to be in this challenge!! I just downloaded the iphone app today and plan on starting Monday! I actually came on here to see if there was a support group and here you all are :-) Good luck everyone! Looking forward to seeing how everyone goes with it!

I think one of the problems with the new WW plan and the old one is that people took the free fruit and starchy vegetables to mean that they could go crazy on them. If you look in the plan it actually says to stick to 2 serves of fruit and 5 of vegetables. With the new plan (and with non-starchy vegetables on the old plan)…

I agree!
