  • Found the custom setting =) That helps This is a good idea. I really like to run but during winter and tax season am limited to short times (20 to 30 minutes) running on the treadmill (ugh). But I could make a goal to significantly improve my mile time (I am slow lol) Hmmm..... Maybe I wil go for a 9 minute mile....or 2 10…
  • Thank you all for the advice. =) (As for BMI, that is how I judged healthy range. I am at about a 24) How do you do custom? I normally eat about 1600 calories a day, and that seems good to me (not to hungry, not too full). but 1 lb loss gives me about 1460 and 1/2 lb loss gives me over 1700. My brain registers the number I…
  • Similar here. If I sweat and am warm and tired and feel like I worked out after a lot of cleaning I count some of it as exercise. Especially if it limits my exercise time. (Like when I am getting the house ready for company or cleaning up after company) But as a general rule I don't count it.
  • I posted my own thread, but wanted to add to this thread that inspired me in the first place. Plan to keep it up 3 days a week (1 workout of each level) through New years. Then hoping to do 30 days all advanced version in the month of January. The 30 DS does work. It is also such a great value $ 3 workouts for about $9,…
  • I grew up about an hour from syracuse. Upstate NY is great. There is lots of snow but it is not as bad there because they know how to deal with it. (roads/sidewalks get plowed, people know how to drive in it etc...) Also it doesn't get quite so rediculously cold there, rarely the below zero temps you get in some other…
  • You look fantastic!!!!! I am with you on the exercise with the kiddos running around (I only have 2). It is hard work.
  • Ditto Also take measurements or even a before pic. Then give yourself about 1 month and compare. If you are diligent you will see a difference. Also, if you are getting better/increasing weight with the exercises you are doing that means your muscles are getting stronger. You are doing a good job. You look great.
  • You look great! thanks for the inspiration. I am also a 5' 8" previously skinny person working down from a high in the 180's. I am currently trying to break out of the 160's. Love your tips =)
  • Forgot to add, as a PT I am totally impressed with how much better my posture is!
  • i am a PT, Posture really depends on a lot of things. Certainly a strong core helps, but also your upperback/shoulder muscles are extremely important. And sometimes stretching is as crucial as strengthening. But even strong muscles can relax so training yourself to think about it also important. One of my professors used…

  • Thanks for asking this, I had been wondering this too. Not because I was judging others, but because I thought maybe I was confused with how the MFP calculations worked. I appreciate the calculation explanation. It verifies that how I thought the site works is coprrect. FWIW I almost always "eat" my exercise calories. But…
  • Getting hand me downs from my mom. My mom has always been slim and has fabulous taste in clothes. I was the only overweight person in my immediate family. Shopping with my sizes 0 to 4 mom and sister in law was demoralizing as I was squeezing into XL and they were both looking for S and XS Last week my mom gave me 4 tops…
  • Record as "circuit traing -general"
  • Great DVD. Best I have ever tried. Easy to follow, but hard to do in a good way. I am dripping in sweat when I am finished. It is just 20 minutes. I have lost 2 inches on my waist since starting it (i am on day 23) I can't do all the moves in the beginning, but then it gives me a lot of room to grow and progress. It should…
  • You look fabulous! I started 30ds a few weeks ago - (on day 20) and am amazed at the results. Was trying to figure out what to do next. After seeing your pics I will definitely have to pick up ripped in 30!
  • I was just thinking about this the other day. COuldn't imagine just eating 1200 (I am tall and active though) My goal is a permanent change that I can sustain, so that means slower to me. I am practicing pretty close to what I will do at goal weight. I am set just over 1500, + exercise calories. Set at a 500 calorie…
  • This is great information =) I happened to calculate my hubby's BMI this morning and was shocked to find that he would be considered obese. Most people wouldn't even say he looks overweight. But with the large frame adjustment he is just a bit overweight. (He has a very large frame, and is 6' 6" tall) Also, as you get…
  • I am very much the opposite. As I have become more healthy I have become more disciplined in other parts of my life as well. I was kind of a slacker before though, for example, I now actually clean my floors almost once a week. I also rarely wore makeup and did my hair, now I frequently do. Getting so many compliments on…
  • If you are following a healthy weight loss plan where you are trying to lose 1-2 pounds a week by balancing diet and exercise there is no need to change what you are doing untill after you have "official" results. Even then you won't need to change much. FOr now Just do eat if you physically feel hungry and make sure you…
