  • I too work a hotel at night (am here now!). I usually bring my own lunch my better half makes for me, keeps me away from all the high calorie/fat things the chef leaves for our overnight room service of which i can partake(very good stuff!!). the only bad thing i do is dr.pepper to keep awake, even tho i know i could do…

  • toss up between seeing Petra twice, once at Red Rocks 1985, and again about 3 years later in Colo. Springs or going to the Guess Who sometime in the mid 90's with the original lead singer. They opened for Starship and completely blew them away, and that is saying alot, I am also a big Starship fan!

  • Definitly nothing like being able to see your "guy" after losing some of the lbs! it was like the first thing i noticed after losing some belly, being able to see my zipper without having to suck it in or look into a mirror! lol
  • I too work grave shift, and have broken my diary into time blocks, starting from just when I get up, til the next night when I get up again. This way I have the daytime hours there for when I am on my days off and change my eating schedule. Breaking it down into time blocks instead of "Breakfast", "Lunch", "Dinner", and…

  • I used to be a habitual soda drinker, and since I don't like coffee, it was my source of caffine. Working nights it was almost a nessecity(or so I thought). Since cutting out soda, I have lost almost 30lbs, and to cover the caffine I have tea, but only once in a while. I do have a soda once in a while now, but find them…
  • I looked it up on Wikipedia, Phenylalanine is a by-product of Aspartame when the body breaks it down. There is a lot of scientific stuff on the page, but if you read down, you will find out about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenylalanine
  • @anichol - sounds like you live in so nevada, where I started out (Laughlin)! Had to get back to 4 seasons, after 19 years in the desert, just couldnt take it anymore!! :)
  • I have worked overnight shifts for about 15+ years, and its hard. Only starting watching my diet about 3 months ago, and instead of all the great food in our hotel kitchen, I bring heathier snacks and lunches from home. I agree with the previous posts, that on my days off, it can be hard to keep an eye on food at home, but…
  • I work the overnight shift, and I start counting for the new day after I get up. These last couple weeks have been kinda crazy (like your schedule), so I put everyting in for the current day until I go to sleep (the afternoon). like the other post, I too take granola bars to snack on, and sometimes bring in left overs or a…

  • my goal for this week is to break 30lbs, this before I take a trip to get my kids, being on the road will be hard, eating out and such! At least we will be in my parents RV, so we can avoid all those heavy calorie fast food joints, and make our own good stuff!! :) But I especially want to break that 30lb gone to show off…
  • Welcome in!! I have lost 25 lbs already, and what you have lost so far is great!! :)

  • My mom and I found Stevia plants at the Home Depot this spring! She was very shocked to find them, and snatched one up right away. She has been using Stevia for quite a while now, and is even turning me on to it.
  • I too weigh in on Thursdays, so count me in. I do weigh myself periodically through the week, but Thursday is my "offical" day.
  • it took almost 2 weeks before I saw any changes, but after my first weigh in here I lost like 15 lbs! (I didn't start this site til my 2nd week) so keep at it, the pounds will start coming off. If you watched "Biggest Loser", you will know that it can vary week to week. My 2nd weigh in I gained almost 5lbs back, so its not…
