Phenylalanine and Aspartame

Is there a difference? I hear alot about aspartame.. but is phenylalanine just as bad??

  • I looked it up on Wikipedia, Phenylalanine is a by-product of Aspartame when the body breaks it down. There is a lot of scientific stuff on the page, but if you read down, you will find out about it:

    The way I understand it, they are just chemicals, not food, hence the fact that are calorie free. We shouldn't be eating chemicals.
