  • artificial sweeteners aren't good for you, the sodium...etc..although doesnt keep me from eating them! less calories at this point is my goal...but drinking purely water is best...or flavored waters..i may also try the sodas at the health food store, i've been hearing good things! but water at my house is free... :-)
  • I take one a day for women, mind and body..i find i do much better the days I remember to take one! lol... i may try the fish oil as well...i find i have the memory issue as well....my brother calls it Mom-nesia....once you have kids your brain turns to mush and you become forgetful haha
  • Good Luck to you!! I do hear it's more difficult as you age, but it's not impossible!!! This is a great site to assist
  • i always wonder the same thing....i upped my incline on the treadmill yesterday and was feeling it 4-5 hours later! ouch. but i'll continue and see if i can work it out today.
  • i probably wouldnt drink it solo, i'd add a powder like muscle milk or carnation instant breakfast to it..thats usually what i do..i have slimfast powder as well and make my own shakes (although you're adding more calories)
  • thats what i do most days anyhow! i try to stay within 1300-1450 cals and i probably eat about 600 during the day and leave the rest for dinner and snacks..budgeting (or should i say cooking) lightly isnt easy for dinner since my husband is picky and i refuse to cook separate meals just so i can eat healthy! i do the best…
  • I just got a Sportline watch and im not too sure about it. i think if i could redo my purchase i'd spend the extra $160 and get a bodybugg type where you get a continuous read..i wear my watch only for workouts and it does seem to be decent but i have to tweak mfp with the reading as this site reads it way higher
  • I do it at home...our gym (the only one within 30 miles) doesnt have a daycare so I probably would never get a workout in.plus having to "get ready" to go workout is just stupid but something I'd probably do. so I find it easier at home. you just have to be committed and make time for it and not let the house work be your…
  • see im finding out that ive been overestimating....i just finished an hour on the treadmill..3 miles at about a 3.5 pace.(taken from treadmill reading) the treadmill calculated 369 calories burned, my hrm says 247and mfp says around the same as my treadmill...im going by my hrm to be safe, but i really dont like that its…
  • id say if you just cant cut it out completely..reserve ONE for either lunch or dinner time..and try to drink as much water in between as you can....i avoid all soft drinks now but my husband just bought me a case of the Starbucks frappes and they're killing me!! they're in the house and im the only one that drinks them and…

  • my body did the same thing this weekend! i weighed in on monday and was 3 lbs heavier than on friday...not possible i thought!! i've been drinking a huge amount of water the last 2 days hoping it just comes back off!
  • shoes!! if you dont take care of your feet you cant exercise!! :-) I recommend the KSwiss Tubes...they are super comfy and I have the cute black/gray/pink ones! Just got them for Christmas but i've been wearing them every day!
  • ive had an upset stomach the last couple days as well...hoping it was just poor eating! or too much i should say!
  • i agree with the others. you werent getting enough cals in..especially with breastfeeding. you need to be taking in more just because of that! but exercising too. try to get in between 1500 and 1800 and see how that does for a couple weeks...you've got to play with your numbers
  • a new wardrobe!! for sure! im so tired of dreading "having" to buy new clothes and now i will do it just for the fun of it, not the necessity....well it will necessary if all my clothes are too big!! :-D definitely feeling good in a clothing store again and liking what I see in that dressing room mirror is my huge…
  • I have a friend that has lost 160 and it was done in less than 2 years..not exactly sure how many months past that one year....but she did it..and the healthy way! you can too! and this is a great place to be!
  • Ive never been the weight I thought I'd be comfortable at...but my goal weight from where i am now hasnt been around since I was 19. at 21 i got pregnant and that weight right before her is my first big goal and im almost at the weight i was when i got preg with my second! so im well on my way. 30 more lbs..and i'll see…
  • every woman is different..i usually see a difference from 2-5 lbs then it comes right back off a couple days later... keep drinking plenty water!
  • I dont particularly like sweet potatoes so i continue to eat the "white" ones. but i do however eat whole grain "wheat" breads, rice, and pasta now..and avoid sugar.
  • I know I cant avoid mine, but i will kick my butt this week and hopefully wont feel so bad for next week's weigh in!
  • thank you for that quote. that makes me feel better. I always feel I failed that day if i eat one bad meal or have a snack i shouldnt. it is true! i havent given up, i just start fresh the next day! first time in my life i can say that!! and im down 3 more lbs this weigh in! yay!! Congrats and Good luck to everyone else
  • I have days like that too. maybe you need more protein? more water? I know at night I find it more difficult. I drink ALOT of water throughout the day..and at night i'll drink a huge cup of tea and usually that fills me up enough to not want to snack
  • I credit my readiness to online shopping! lol. without it i'd probably be out christmas eve trying to find everything! Thank you UPS lol. although the closer it gets to Christmas I keep thinking of people I forgot or didnt initially intend to buy for so here i am finishing up as well as I can!
  • thanks for clearing that up! so to really know my output (not just in exercise) it would help to have a hrm huh?
  • yeah i'd recommend a healthy high calorie snack like a large banana (or 2) natural unsalted nuts are a good choice..i love almonds and peanut butter is another good choice to sneak in a few more calories without having another meal
  • oh wow it just hit me... so when you hear burn more than you consume they mean your bmr+exercise!? geez i feel blond! i apologize and am now embarrassed haha..but it just never clicked..i kept thinking how in the heck can you burn more than you eat if a single exercise is less than 600 cals burned and you of course have to…
  • so glad you were able to find some jeans! I find this is the hardest part of being overweight...not having to wear "fat" clothes like lane bryant...we want the cute styles! we dont want to wear drapes for shirts or elastic waistbands! c'mon! why cant they just enlarge the pattern a bit for the heavier girls? i dont…

I started with sparkpeople and lost 40 lbs then switched over here where my calorie allowance is about 350 cals lower than SP... i've never eaten my exercise calories but always felt like you do...tired. some days pushing through the exercise and was losing weight but staying…
  • i have a friend that did this.. (only needed to lose about 50 lbs) and they require you to watch your food intake as well...everything goes back to the original idea of exercise and healthy foods.... stick with it! it takes dedication but it WILL happen! I also have a friend that lost 155 lbs in 2 years with healthy eating…
