Yes, I will be logging.

Hello I'm sorry you're struggling. I also only wanted to lose a small amount of weight, 20lbs. I found the most helpful thing was to maintain a very small deficit (250 calories/ day). I was set at .5lbs per week. I ate all my calories and all my exercise calories and I lost at about .5lbs every ten days. If I didn't eat…

I drink about a cup of whole milk in my coffee every day and I'm on the low end of the healthy weight BMI. I love me the cheese also and it didn't hurt my loses. I don't think it's "what" you eat as how "much" you eat. I also eat until 11PM at night, just adding for fun.

Food Scale (portion size was a big eye opener for me) Measuring cups Measuring spoons The human brain is really good with shapes not so good with volume so always measure. Welcome and Great Good Luck to you on your journey.

I do a gallon a day = 128oz I'm 5'7".

I didn'tt really exercise like crazy, I biked to work ( 6.5 miles each way when I was losing, so 35 minutes each way) and tried to use the bike for all my errands and I walked my dog everyday. But I still got about 1800 calories a day on average. I had to eat all and I mean, I made myself eat no matter what, every one of…

I thought it was funny. I got it. And as for the real question, it got better for me, I hope it gets better for you too. Good luck and Welcome to the forum. Keep asking questions and your going to need your sense of humor on this journey so keep that too.

I'm also 5'7" and I started at 135 and have successful lost the weight I wanted to lose. I had to eat about 1350-1400 calories a day plus every single exercise calorie to lose weight (was averaging about 1600-1700 calories a day). When you are at an ideal weight you can't have a very big deficit or your body will hang onto…

Okay I'm going to say something kind of crazy....I think you need to eat more. Your very close to an ideal weight for your height, when I got really close to my goal weight, I had to eat every single calorie and exercise calorie, or I would stop losing weight. You are doing these very intense workouts, your body needs that…

We must remember that this is for the "Biggest Loser". The contestants start out around 300lbs. That would give them 2100 calories. But I don't think this ratio is at all useful to people that are no in the extremely obese category.

I walk my dog and bike to work. That bike ride used to me 6.5 miles and now it's just shy of 5. I think the most important thing I did was get a food scale. Actually my boyfriend got it for me, at my request. $4.00 simple scale and boy did that open my eyes. The first morning I measured out what I thought was an ounce of…

Just adding my story to the "Eat More to Lose More" chorus. I was at 1200 lost for a few weeks, then stalled for 6weeks. I was told to up my calories. I honestly thought "that is just ridiculous" But I also thought "what can it hurt. I went to 1350 and lost 2lbs. I stuck with 1350 and eat all my exercise calories until I…

When you are super close to an ideal weight you have to feed your body all its daily calories needs, with only a very small deficit, in order for it to give up the last bit of fat it's saving. I had to make myself eat every calorie and every exercise calorie I was allowed and then I was able to lose those last few lbs.…

For me they are apples and oranges, maintenance and losing present totally different challenges. With losing the challenges were all specific and rigid. And because of that is was easy to "measure" my sense of accomplishment. losing also had weekly-ish rewards, the weight in, the new clothes. Maintenance is more fluid and…

The closer I got to my goal the more important it became for me to eat all, and I mean all my calories. I set my rate of loss at .5lbs/ week, this is recommended all over the site for the last 10ish lbs and I ate all my calories and all my exercise calories and I lost about .5lbs every ten days. If I didn't eat all my…

I've hit my ultimate goal and I'm very happy. That said I don't really "see" what I've done all the time. And honesty, no one else sees it either, except my boyfriend but he has a unique perspective. Being done with the losing phase and moving onto maintenance has a mental element to it that you have to respect. It's great…

I say "there is no "bad" food only "bad" portion sizes". Unless said food leads to bad portion sizes. Eat and enjoy.

Men are actually in this same fight. The problem is they don't even know it. Here's an Equire article about male vanity sizing. "Are Your Pants Lying to You? An Investigation September 7, 2010 at 8:30AM by Abram Sauer | The devastating realization came in H&M. Specifically, in a pair of size 36 dress pants. I'd never…

Congratulations, I'm so happy for you. It's such a great feeling to hit that number. You can always ramp up to maintenance slowly. Maybe just add back 50cals/ day each week until you reach your maintenance level. That way if you lose more on the way it's all just gravy, like your current pound "in the bank".

Congratulations. Really inspiring.

Another thing to watch for with second hand, which most of my clothes are, is that the person before you may not have followed the care instructions. And you can really shrink a pair of cotton jeans with a hot water wash and a hot dryer.

I once made the mistake of entering my height and weight in a post telling someone what worked for me. Because I happen to be 3 stinking lbs under-weight I was set on fire. Ever sense then I am very afraid of commenting or being helpful for fear of being "put in my place" again. I went from 175 to a weight I'm extremely…

congratulations on your restart.

You ticker seems to indicate you have 8lbs to lose. If you have very little to lose your deficit, usually, should be very tiny .5lb a week or less. So losing 1lbs every 5weeks is really not far off from a realistic loss. I think your right on track. Losing the last 10lbs is a slower process than losing the first 10lbs.…

Congratulations you have done an amazing thing. Yes!!! It is a little scary. I increased my calorie intake slowly over the course of a month. I was only at a .5 deficit so I added 50 calories a week to my daily intake. I lost a little more the first two weeks but gained that back in the next three weeks. And I've held…
