No science here, but I do both. 30 min on ARC machine, 30-45 min weights, then end with 35 min on elliptical.

well I'm not a wife of one of the listed, but my husband fits the schedule thing. I'm married to a funeral director. He is on-call 24/7/365. We always have to take phones where ever we go, and be ready to leave at any moment. It's much easier now that my 5 kids are teens or older. I remember leaving the kids with my…

I'm not doing the NROLW, but did start lifting weights in Jan...I went a couple weeks without losing, then dropped 5 pounds, and lost a pound or two a week for several weeks then stopped losing for a few weeks. I switched from the weight machines to the strongman 5x5..... I had a bad week with my eating, lots of parties…

I'm not working today, because I quit my job back in July. But I did work the last two Easters, and Mothers day"s, and fathers day's. Because they are not official holidays, I my job required me to work every other weekend, and mine seemed to always fall on those holidays

I live in a small town,we are fortunate to have what we do, the nearest other Gym, would be AT LEAST 25 miles. And don't tell me I should just get my own stuff for home, I seriously do not have any money. and my house is waaayyy to small, and old, the weights would probably fall through the floor. This is the only option I…

today i did week 4 day 2 of the Couch to 5K....I thought I would die during the first 1/2 mile run....on the second 1/2 mile run, I told myself to keep going, keep going...then all of a sudden, this is weird, it got easier, and I still felt like running when it was done, so, I ran a few more blocks!

I get serious headaches from c affine too. I used to drink 32oz of pop before noon every day. I kicked the caffine about 10 years ago. there are two ways, one, just do it! You will suffer major headaches for several days. take ibuprofen, CHECK YOUR PAIN RELIEVERS, ALOT OF THEM HAVE CAFFEINE IN THEM. the other way is to…

I've been married for 26 years. My husband is not romantic. He is pretty clueless. He used to say "tell me what you want me to do, and I will do it", and I would get mad cause "if I had to tell him then it wasn't romantic, he was just doing it because I asked him to, not cause he wanted to" I finally realized, if he's…

I believe confidence is a big part of it. When I was younger, i was very thin, but very, very shy. I was pretty much ignored, never listened to, and never respected. Then as an adult, I became a Christian, realized the love of God (and also a great husband), and discovered my value and therefore worked to overcome my…

I get asked alot about how I'm doing it. I really can't go anywhere lately where someone doesn't comment on my weight loss, everyone has been very encouraging. People will sometimes say " I should but...".then what ever reason. I understand that, weren't we all there once making some kind of excuse? If not, we wouldn't be…

So I will add another question here: MFP has me at 1200 calories plus i eat my exercise back (usually 800-900),so I eat around 2000 a day, which MFP says I would then loose 1.3 pounds a week. This has been working good until lately. someone recommended this site…

A friend of mine was struggling with her daughter and lice, she kept getting them back. Finally found out that the girl her daughter shared a locker with at school had lice and that family did nothing about it. so while the school was sending notes home with her daughter, nothing was done about the other girl. Got daughter…

I have to go to McDonald's every Saturday morning for a meeting, I don't want to use my calories up there. And I also need more protein than McDonald's yogurt has, so seriously, I bring my own Greek yogurt, and just buy a ice tea (sometimes).

my motivation this week.....One day I was feeling really tired, did not want to exercise and I thought to myself, I can skip it just one day...then self said yea, you exercise 6 days a week and you haven't missed a day (except your reg Sunday off) since, December 26, and that is the only day missed since…

what level of intensity do you have the machine on? Also what fitness program? And what speed are you going? Did you plug in your age and weight? Was the machine monitoring your heart rate?

to those who are being snarky about the question....no she should not "know" about this. I never paid attention to my weight and cravings when I was younger...who cares I could eat what I wanted as much as I wanted and I still looked hot, never got on a scale. Then I had 5 kids, with only a couple periods in between.…

6 months ago I could not walk up my stairs without getting out of breath. the first time I got on the elliptical I think I did less than 20 min, on the easiest setting. Today, I did week 2 day 3 of couch to 5K, 30 min on the Arc machine and 30 min on the elliptical(set at level 12). That is almost 2 hours!! I am hoping to…

good for you...I would love to have a waterproof MP3 and a finger counter, and a heart rate monitor, but can't afford right now. That probably ok, think how long it would take me to get all wired up for my swim

I upped my workout about two weeks ago to two miles 3x a week. I alternate between free and breast stroke, stop twice to go to the bathroom (old age and 5 kids sucks!)...it takes me about an hour 45 min.

I've read all three and loved them. And as a side note, if you like hunger games, check out this series: Gone by Michael Grant.....In the blink of an eye. Everyone disappears. GONE. Except for the young. Teens. Middle schoolers. Toddlers. But not one single adult. No teachers, no cops, no doctors, no parents. Just as…
