I will decide each morning, upon waking up, what I can do that day to be active. It will be a conscious focus.

Hi all! I do walk my dog every day, so I will use this habit to walk a bit more. Here's how: When I feel it's time to turn around and head home, I'll extend the walk a few minutes longer.

Sitting too much, rather than moving more as a lifestyle, truly does contribute to disease and a less robust life, as well as a likely shorter life.

Get back to my best maintenance weight (13 lbs. to lose). I will do this by sticking to what has worked best for my health and body, which is eating lower carb. I've been on MFP for 4+ years, but am new to this group and look forward to the mutual support!

It was all very fantastic and helpful!

And it feels more primal!

I'm being busy around the house today, getting everything organized before my surgery on Saturday. I like things in order, so this is a good time to be busy while I can!
-
It's worth getting in the habit of knowing to get up and move throughout the day when doing something sedentary!

What a beautiful painting you made! As far as the topic today of getting projects done around the house: Being meticulous around the house is part of what's contributed to my success with health and fitness. It seems I'm always looking for the next "project" that needs to be done. It's rewarding AND contributes to NEAT…

Hmmm....My husband and I bought fun new cruiser bikes last year and we haven't taken them out since before winter. I must resume that fun activity!

Motivational! My brain is one of the main organs I think about preserving and keeping healthy!

What an inspiring image!

Better safe with coffee than sorry!!

Megan, that is a terrific idea to walk to the water cooler every hour and help with two goals at one time!

I'm quite active already, but I did think of a habit I can change. Three times a week, I go to Jazzercise. Many times, those of us who arrive early, sit in the chairs outside to talk and visit. I will STAND outside before class from now on!

Sobering stats!

I used to look for ways to sit at any opportunity. Such as folding laundry, going through the mail, putting on my makeup, etc. Now that I realize the benefits of standing and moving, new habits have developed! On my feet instead of my backside whenever possible!

Plain and simple graphic that packs a wallop! It's incredible how much a walking habit can help our body!

So far, I just watched the first two videos while walking in place in front of my computer screen. They are excellent and I learned some new things I hadn't realized before. I'll watch the other videos later today! (Standing, of course!)

I'm up for the challenge!

You must be so tickled with your success after tweaking a few things with the insulin resistance. I'm honored to be your friend on MFP and hanging with you as you continue to transform!!

Bravo all around! Such a heartwarming story that you shared.

Yours is such a monumental and noteworthy feat! You have encouraged me greatly, because I have lost 70 lbs. and have been in maintenance for a fairly short time. This healthy lifestyle is for the rest of my life. Thanks for sharing and giving me the example of someone who has been successful for several years! You are a…

Life is good for you and congrats! Your hair is cute. My daughter had a whole head of turquoise hair during her junior year of high school!

I'm so sorry, Suzanne. I know you are disappointed. Just keep looking at the before and after pictures to know how far you have come. Our perceived imperfections don't define us. Anyone who has successfully lost a great deal of weight is a winner! Holding on to our health is a treasure. Never let that go. I'm here to be…

I would suggest eating 6 meals a day. Carry snacks with you when you are out and about, to have for mid-morning and mid-afternoon. I like to keep a a quality protein bar, cheese stick or nuts in my purse. Also eat a little something before bed. Another helpful hint is to plan in some calorie dense fats like olive oil,…

It works the same way as the way it is set up for losing. Aiming for a certain amount of net calories, so you would eat back the exercise calories.

I should have read your profile before responding. You look terribly underweight. I hope you arrive at a healthy balance. Best wishes.
