When you guys refer to "lifting weights" do you mean free weights or the machines? I used to do free weights but then I hired a trainer about a month ago and she just put me on all of the machines.

I used to do free weights on my own but then decided to hire a trainer. She's the one that got me into the machines and that's all we've been doing for the past month. Should I ask her to switch to free weights?

What's considered "heavy" lifting? I just started weight training using the machines at the gym. I'm starting off at about 15-25 lbs for arm type of machines and about 150 lbs for the quads. What should I strive for?

How long has it been since you had the baby? I talked to my doctor and she said it was fine to start exercising 6 weeks after but not diet. If you lose weight, your body produces some type of acid, which is transferred to your breastmilk and isn't good for the baby. I'd be healthy about it. I was on about 1800 cals a day…
