Very well said.

Some foods make me feel hungry even when I'm not. I try to avoid them.

It is hard and takes discipline. So easy to go over.

What's your breakfast budget (calories)? I eat around 700-900 calories for breakfast. That's what it takes for me to feel full until lunch after I'm done with my morning training. Everyone is different. If you are a breakfast person, figure out what foods make you feel full longest.

It comes down to personal responsibility. OP, you have a problem with self-control. That's ok. A lot of us do. I know that I have a problem controlling myself around certain foods. And its not just sweets. So I don't have them in the house often. It's not the food's fault; it's mine. I can overeat everything that tastes…

I need volume to feel full, so I would opt for the spring rolls and only if I had the calories to spare later, the donut on the side, and I'd eat the donut first, then the spring rolls as ending any meal with something like that makes me feel hungry even if I'm really not.

Indian....I only do the Indian buffet (which is amazing!) and I eat everything. I just plan those days in advance and 1 meal usually lasts me the entire day. If your calorie budget is small, eat small amounts. There's nothing to avoid. Indian food is delicious!

Just say no to cheat days and learn how to fit the foods you want and dining out into your new lifestyle/habit. Sounds like you did fine doing that. I generally save my high calorie meals for weekends when I am more active and can eat more (I don't do small portions).

My breakfasts are always over 500 calories. Pancakes topped with preserves and sometimes nuts/seeds, egg whites, bacon, sausage, apple. Usually 700-800 calories.

Agree. I've lost around 65 lbs and it wasn't that hard. I hit several plateaus, but that never stopped me because I found a way of life that I enjoy -- eating well and training hard.
-
Some good information.

Me too. I walk the dog 1 hour every day and burn around 125-150 (I weigh under 125 lbs) and we walk pretty briskly. Strava burn is way too high, OP.

Love this stuff!

Gross. Give me my regular pancakes all day everyday.

I tried it. Its only good when you want ice cream, are a volume eater, and only have very few calories left. Personally, I prefer to just wait for when I have 500 or so calories left for a good portion of frozen yogurt. I'm not that big on ice-cream. Prefer ice-cream w/ other things like brownies, cookies, crepes, shaved…

I love all nut butters. Nut butter is love. My favorite peanut butter items are . . . PB&J, peanut butter frosting, peanut butter frozen yogurt.

That's all the advice you need right there. Oh, and race hard and have fun!

I call BS, especially if you aren't eating vegetables or fruit.

Burning 1000 calories is very hard. For example, today I did 3 hour brick workout (1 hour swim, 2 hour cycle) and my hrm said I didn't hit 1000 calories though I was busting my butt (though I do only weigh 123). Don't set burning 1000 calories as your goal.

Sushi is awesome. Just plan for it. And please lose the "high carbs" from your vocabulary.

I am 100% compliant with my diet as my diet is a noun and not a verb. I eat, therefore I have a diet. Hard to not comply with that.
-
Nope. When I eat pizza, I have 1/2 a large or a whole medium. Ice cream -- definitely more than 1/2 a cup. I've very active. Not everyone has the same calorie budget. Each person just has to work with what have. Fad diets (such as paleo) make no real sense.
-
If your calorie level is appropriate for your activity level, you will just need to play around with different foods. It took me a long time, but I've finally figured it out.

Find something else. The possibilities are enormous!
