The standard answer for this board is get a heart rate monitor. LOL Some of us can't afford one. So we have to deal with the calorie counters online which count based on time for the most part. The problem I find with that is the numbers are always so low for the strength training stuff. But my only option to get a number…

so, how do you realistically define when you are jogging rather than fast walking....because when i am at 5.2 mph it winds me after about 3 minutes, but in the mirror i look like i am going so slow....at 4.0 i am walking quickly, but i can keep it up for 15 to 20 minutes without break....i dont know, i guess i am just…

I was about 155 when I graduated high school, and I agree with everyone I know that I would probably be too thin at that size. I would like to get to a nicely defined 210. Last time i weighed 210 I was out of shape even for being that size, but I think now that I am working out and know what I want, I could make the 210…

honestly it sounds like a way to hurt yourself, I'm sure you will burn calories, but with the resistance "cranked" what are the chances of injury? if you do multiple small workouts like this, it adds up, try ten minutes in the morning ten minutes at lunch and ten minutes in the evening. What is that? 30 minutes...You got…

the walmart great value brand of whole wheat...the only problem is they only have certain pastas in store sometimes (my family loves the angel hair instead of regular spaghetti), so sometimes i gotta go for the next best priced...but 99.9% of the time it is store brand

flatout flatbread, 2 large scrambled eggs, a sprinkling of mozarella cheese, and 1 slice of round cut canadian bacon, under 300 and it is so frickin good.... if you want it quick microwave scramble your eggs, and lay the canadian bacon in the bowl you microwave in, takes about 3 minutes to make it, one bowl, one fork to…

if you have to split your workouts over the whole day walk 15 to 20 minutes at a time, and by the end of the day you may have walked a whole lot longer than you think, and the lbs will start coming off, then as you feel more into it, add other exercises....

i dont see why it would be a big deal, 4 weeks with focus and steady exercise, i see more than a stone disappearing...

I read that the 8 glasses thing is a myth too, but I read that it is the low end of the myth, you should probably strive to drink more than 8...I drop 8 to 10 of the 16 oz bottles a day...I completely cut out most other beverages...but teas and other drinks can count towards your totals also if that makes it easier...

try and see if you can get your sushi with brown rice...brown rice is better for you, and it gives it a little bit of a different bite...sushi is awesome though...

actually i've read that both are good, eat before at least a half hour for the fuel, and then take in calories within 15 minutes of finishing your workout to extend your burn... make sure your pre workout snack or meal is at least half hour before due to the fact you dont wanna work on a full stomach and get sick, but you…

I like Domino's Pizza myself, but I thought I would be doing good and got one of those subs from there, instead of pigging out on the pizza...lets just say that I could have eaten 5 or 6 pieces of frickin pizza for the calories that sub cost me....those are devils in disuise....

I'm thinkin about making some chicken nachos...basically shredded chicken with taco seasoning, some salad on top, black olives, cheese and salsa, black beans...the kids love it...I think the cheese is the worst part of the whole thing...but if you dont eat a ton of cheese I think it'll be alright...

Most shoulder exercises help with the chest area...you gotta figure the shoulder muscles assist in holding the pecs in the right place....its gonna take time no matter what, unless you know a cheap plastic surgeon...Hey The Rock got a chest tuck back in the day, can't be all bad...

I've seen all the videos, and recently started using them, I think mostly what you need is a chinup bar, resistance bands, and a good set of dumbells...They show you how to modify the exercises for what you have also. If you dont have the chinup bar, they have a guy using resistance bands instead...from there it is basic…

The first way to approach this, is to have a long serious talk with her. And everyone in the house for that fact...Explain to them how this is affecting their health too...Of course if they are like my family, in out ear, out the other...LOL...Mom knows best... Next thing is control what you can control...Drink lots of…

They've done big articles and undercover things about that show...there are a lot of dirty things going on there...like dehydrating to cut weight...people that have been on the show have come forward with a lot of really nasty accusations...

the monster 7 lb loss is cool, but I fear you're may be disappointed with the smaller future number...but congrats on deciding to start....I say you make the decision, I personally like a clean slate, I would start tomorrow morning with a fresh no questions weight....

I would love to get into one of those, but that is where money comes into play...LOL...For now, I think i will just stick with my plan of not putting the swimming on here, and letting it sneak up on me....I like surprises...

Walking is awesome, it is prolly the easiest, free exercise you can do. I like to crank the tunes and just walk it out. Another thing I like to do is shadowbox while I'm walking. I did it weightfree for a while, then I added little 3 lb wrist weights, and I really feel the burn in my arms. I dont think there is a way to…

what style of music do you like? I like to throw in a mix of Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, DMX. If you like country there are cds out there that have popular country music remixed to upbeat tempos specifically designed for working out.... I also have enjoyed working out to classical music. I definitely recommend the Inglorious…
