I think to pause it you can just close the app down and re-open it. That shuts down the "background running" of it.

I've been using it a couple of weeks now. I think the calorie burn is more accurate for, say, 30 minutes of straight walking than 30 minutes of accumulated walking throughout the day... I've since updated the app which supposedly fixes dodgy large amounts of calories burned, and it seems the same...

RE cell phones - I take mine and write my workout into the notepad function on it, but never call or facebook :P Don't be so quick to judge, that could be waht others are doing too and not facebooking!!

Hey girl. Mostly recovered anorexic here. I say that because Im not sure I'll ever be 100% normal...

Check out Western Mudd Run down in Brigadoon on August 13? 11? Could be a nice "training" version, as its shorter, and you might meet some cool people there? I was super keen to do it but won't be in the country :(

I just got a GoSportID as ID, it's pretty much a bracelet with your emergency details. I chuck my keys in a bush outside my door (It should be noted I live a in cul de sac with a big fence thing around my front door though) and carry my ipod in my hand / use the arm band :)

Eww... I bet it doesn't really have zero calories though. Probably just small amounts. But I bet if it actually tasted good, people would just binge like crazy and eat it all, and then it would actually be a few calories.

No, it's not enough. My best advice is to ignore them... it seems quite attention seeking to be posting about stuff like that. Eating disorders are not a joke and not something to go around boasting on forum posts about how little you can eat etc. They are only hurting themselves rather than helping themselves in the long…

StacySkinny - you just need to find something that works for you and you really enjoy, and that will be it :) You will come back for more and more and get addicted. There are that many sports / exercises and things out there now, you're bound to enjoy SOMETHING. Try a bunch of different things and maybe you will find that…

I eat all of those regularly except oranges. Yuck.

Hi girls, mine is http://tryingfood.blogspot.com :) It's a combo of running / food / weight loss and random stuff. Will check out yours now!

So so true about the public school system (and private!) Those that excel are pushed forward and encouraged, while those that don't are just forgotten about. How can anyone gain an interest in physical activity and exercise when if they're no good, there is no encouragement to get any better?!?! I believe this is a HUGE…

I find a lot of those meals are more sauce than meat or veg!! So you get the flavour but not much nutrients or anything that would realistically fill you up. That said - I love the weight watcher's lasagne and canneloni, find those to be the most filling. As for them being processed and full of salt - very true, but still…

lol, I love to run but I'm an easy runner... I tend to avoid hills and don't push myself too hard. Mainly 'coz most of the time I'm recovering from an injury or building mileage back up after an injury lately!!!

Woohooo! Well done! Good luck with the maintenance aspect, I find that the hardest part - so stick around on MFP!

Not sure what 30DS is so can't answer that, but have you thought about trying Bodypump classes or instead of doing weights, do some flexibility / core work / stuff using your body weight such as pushups / situps / planks etc?? I find those more fun.
-
Try doing some core exercises to strengthen your back - planks, and that kind of thing - I always forget the names of the other core exercises but they help!!

I get those too, and thought it might have something to do with electrolyte loss with sweat, so I tried drinking a watered down electrolyte drink + eating something straight away when I get back. It's helped me. But if you say it happens more when it's cold, I would have suggested the headband. That doesn't help?? What…

Fill up a small bottle and keep it with you at all times, and just sip from it. When it gets empty - fill it up straight away. Then you drink it without even thinking :) Works for me.

Depends what you want to do with it - if you're just curious doing it for your own information or you want a career out of it!! There's heaps of online things going on and also heaps of ones where you attend classes. Attending classes is a better idea if you want to make a career out of it.

Detox diets are a crock. Your body is designed to detoxify itself.

I got 209, but I have a suspicion it may have been by HRM playing up. The highest before that was 195.

I like the sound of your current plan! Sounds like a really good one. I guess if you start to hit the plateau stage, just change it up a bit. Add a few minutes to your runs or increase the speed.

Look up RMR and BMR and compare... I think RMR is what Cindibryce is referring to :P http://www.bioweblogic.com/bmr.asp "What are Basal and Resting Metabolic Rates? (BMR and RMR) These two terms are used interchangeably, although they are not technically the same. Resting metabolic rate is really what most lay people mean…

I don't know what to think of that. I only had (the worst of it) my eating disorder (anorexia) for about eight or nine months (eight or nine months is long enough!!!!!!) until my boyfriend at the time forced me to pull my head in or he'd break up with me... he broke up with me anyway and then I began the binge eating...…

Start using things like spices or seasonings instead of sauces - much lower calorie!! That's one simple thing... And you don't have to just have chicken :) Try lean pork, lean cuts of steak, fish, maybe some vegetarian dishes (healthy versions of quiche?) that kind of thing. What kind of food do you like? Try googling…

I have no idea what an "airdyne" is, but if you're not feeling bad or feeling any bad effects, why would the exercise be bad for you??

Anything like rice, potato, quinoa, oats.... unless you're going low carb, which is a stupid idea anyway.
