  • Weight loss: 84 pounds (from very highest which was about 20 pounds more than my starting weight on MFP) Method: Counting calories and almost never going over. If I go over one day, I make sure to go under by the same or more the next day. No foods are off limits for me. I started running, and that's my main form of…
  • Thanks for all the kind feedback everyone. It's always nice to know other people are dealing with similar feelings and really know what I'm going through. The EAP suggestion is a good one, I do think I've seen that listed as a benefit at work so I should look into talking to someone. I just feel more and more untethered.…
  • I'd love to read your post on this...sent you a friend request.
  • Thanks for sharing so many similar stories. Today I noticed my picture on our employee photo wall at work, and it was taken at my heaviest. I've found myself wondering if I should request a new photo or leave it there as a reminder to myself.
  • That's a great way to look at it. While I was heavy, I was having my girls and adjusting to life as a mother. All of my energy was focused outward and that was okay, but now I have the time and energy to not always put myself last.
  • I'm glad to see other people are taking a little while to get used to all these changes. I agree about setting up some new goals for this new year that are less about weight loss. I should reach my ultimate goal weight by March so I know I'll spend the bulk of the year just figuring out how maintenance will work for me.…
  • Yes! I definitely am. I've been walking on the paved walking track at my daughters' school several nights a week. It's nice because they can play at the playground, and I can see them while I get my walk in. I have a goal of 3-4 days a week, and I've been doing a little over 2 miles, but I feel like it isn't enough, and I…
  • It's been about six months and about 30 pounds, and just this week I've finally had co-workers and acquaintances start asking me if I've lost weight! It's such a nice boost. Three different people asked me about the weight loss yesterday alone! It's sort of funny to go from zero to many in just a few days, but I'll take…
  • I'd like to complete the C25K program again. I did it all the way through a few years ago and was so proud of myself. I'd like to log my calories for the full 365 days. I have lots of weight loss goals through out the year...5 pound increments about every 6-8 weeks. If I'm able to keep to this schedule, I should hopefully…
  • I haven't tried them all, but I enjoy the Athenos brand. They have original, red pepper, and garlic, and I like them all.
  • Like others have been saying, now that you have a child it's your turn to start your own Christmas traditions, and you deserve to make those traditions whatever you want them to be. If that means staying home so your child can have a leisurely morning with his new toys, there's nothing wrong with that. That being said, it…
  • I'm 5'4". The lowest I've weighed as an adult was between 130-140. It bounced around a lot in that range while I was maintaining so I was never just 130 or 135. I think about 135 is my ultimate goal, but I also think I could be very happy and feel good at 145. We'll see when I get there.
  • I don't have a problem with people starting in the New Year, but I will say it's been sort of fun starting during this supposedly difficult time of year. I started getting serious November 17th. My husband even suggested maybe I should just wait until after the holidays, but that sounded silly to me. If I have the…
  • Anyone can feel free to add me too.
  • I'm relatively new here and logging everything. I know I need to eat more fruits and vegetables. I usually have one or two servings of baby carrots with hummus every day and an apple. Dinner usually has a vegetable component. This week I picked up sugar snap peas to eat with my carrots. I like most fruits and vegetables so…
  • Still pretty new here and looking for more motivation. I have about 60-70 pounds to lose. Username: librarysteg
  • I'm new here, and this sounds like a great way to get started, get to know some people, and stay motivated during the holidays. Happy to have anyone add me. Would like to lose 5 pounds before Christmas.
  • I'm new too! I think we should enjoy the early quick gains for all they're worth while preparing ourselves that it's going to slow down soon.
