  • In order to gain 5lbs in a week (or less than from what I read on your post) you would have to consume 17,500 EXTRA calories... I'm sure you didn't do this. You say you ate badly so maybe 1-2 lbs but the rest is probably water weight from to much sodium in the diet! Drink lots of fluids, get back on track and you'll see it…
  • I gained 60lbs when I quit... of course being pregnant didn't help that!!! Congrats on your victory!!!
  • It's a combination of hormones and a depletion of magnesium! When a woman starts her cycle she looses a lot of essential minnerals... try taking a supplement... this will also help with moodiness (if that's a problem for you as well like it is me!) Hope this helps!
  • There are these wonderful weight training machines at the gym called the ABDUCTOR - it specifically targets this area then you can switch it around and do the ADDUCTORS - Great for inside and outside thigh area... Also - pilates, yoga and cardio will help trim this.' Hope it helps
  • You should always TYR to NET 1200 calories... So if you eat 1200 calories but burn 300 for exercise you're body is really only getting 900 - Making your deficit greater like this can (not will) cause your body to enter "starvation mode" by eating back those calories your are helping keep balance in your body. I don't…
  • It does sound like a plateau - however if you are close to your goal weight it will be harder to get those pesky lbs off... Try changing up your workout - maybe your body is just bored OR take a break for a week and only do some light cardio just to give your body a rest! You say you're working out 6 days a week (I hope…
  • QUALITY over Quantity anyday!!!
  • Ladies... we shouldn't freak if we gain during TOM... It's all water weight! As to the question... it's perfectly possible to actually lose during this time. And safe! Good luck!
  • HAHAHAHA!!!!
  • I've seen a lot of post where people who track both say WW says they are done but MFP is still going... The best thing to do is to do what works for you! I think you've had success both ways but clearly WW worked a bit better! I've never been on WW but I know so many people who love it, swear by it. Good luck!
  • I wouldn't have a problem with that... that's what the ladies at my gym wear. They have a uniform shirt that they have to wear with it (t-shirt)... I think you're safe!
  • Extra fiber and protein is not that bad.... Protein helps rebuild the muscles... so being over by a few isn't going to hurt... Fiber helps you to feel fuller longer (so does protein) and help to keep you regular... So that's not going to hurt either... I don't worry too much about going over anything except fat and…
  • When do you plan to rest to give your muscles a break so they can heal? Rest is when lean muscle is made... if you're not giving your body rest it won't improve. Just something to think about!
  • Body Combat and Kickboxing (basically the same but Combat is more structured by an actual program and not just whatever the instructor feels like doing) Spin... I love spin... pace yourself... if you feel like you can't keep going, reduce the resistance a bit and keep going... Unless you feel dizzy/faint... ALWAYS KEEP…
  • I can easily reach 1000 calories in one workout... you are smaller so you won't burn as much as someone who is heavier! My exercise goal is like 2500 for the week. THAT'S NOTHING FOR US BIGGER PEOPLE! But to be smart, I make my goal 1lbs per week lost. I use my HRM to track my calories burned as well... I never go by the…
  • from my understanding MFP all ready takes into account calories burned "doing nothing"... I just listed to my body and try to get in as much healthy foods as possible. But I don't deprive myself of the things that I love either! For me this isn't about a "diet"... diets don't work... life style changes do!!! Food is fuel…
  • Cardio sessions can actually deplete muscle tissue, which you DON'T WANT! After all muscle burns fat faster... the best way to combat this is to get in some protein within 30 minutes of your workout!
  • There ar TONS of exercises you can do WITH your baby!!! It's called like mommy and me fitness or something like that... Check out BABYCENTER.COM they have tons of stuff on exercising with baby! Seriously it's like a whole movement of exercising!!! Good luck!
  • on rest days I'm at about 1400 but on exercise days... I always try to NET at least 1200
  • First off... fire your doctor and get a new one... sounds like there's some issues there with her not listening to you're legitimate complaints. Don't worry about what your mom wants... this is YOUR health and YOUR life! Your mom will get over it! You have to have a doctor that YOU are comfortable with. This doctor may be…
  • Fasting can be a good thing, I do a fast on a regular basis (about once a month for spiritual reasons)... but I'm not sure about intermittent fasting... I've never really heard about it. After reading what Wikipedia (not the most reliable source I know) says, it doesn't sound like a great idea to me... Drastic changes in a…
  • You look amazing!!! Congrats and keep it up!!!
  • EAT IT!!! Think of your metabolism like a fire! You have to get it going in order to burn (in this case fat). The sooner you start that fire up, by eating, the sooner you'll start burning. There's 2 sides to this as well... snacks... Again, to keep that fire going you have to fuel it... so the more OFTEN you fuel, the…
  • Yup... and I LOVE IT!!! Not as much as MFP... because they don't really have a way to log cardio, but for a bodybuilding site I guess that's not really their focus!
  • They still aren't learning because it doens't matter to them like it matters to you!!!
  • Don't beat yourself up too bad about it... We ALL go through spurts where we don't log... I was gone for like 2 weeks! The more important thing is that you KEEP TRYING!!! It doesn't matter that we fall down... it only matters that we GET BACK UP!!! Sending my support to you cause I know you can do this!
  • I have to throw in here that everyone is different... I NEVER go by the machine... it's always WAY lower than what my HRM says. For me... MFP is always closer. If you really want to know what you ACTUALLY burned... invest in a HRM!
  • I agree... there are days where I can't eat all of them back either! I just try to focus on getting at least 1200 NET calories by the end of the day! Best of luck!
  • Congrats to you as well... I worked for a GYNONC for a few years and female reproductive organ cancer is no joke! Congrats!!!
