my goals are to do strength training 3 times a week and to do cardio at least 3 times - i go to a gym so i like to try and get to three classes for cardio as i find just running on the machines boring0

My only goal is to make it to the gym 5 days a week. Right now I'm just focusing on getting there since I had about a month off. I've done cardio the last two days but once my back is a little better I'll be doing some strength training as well.0

Hi, I started slow and exercise every day gradually building up. Now I shoot for 3000 cals in exercise a week as that's what it takes to burn 1 pound. It seems to be working...Good Luck to you! Lynn0

30 day shred or Ripped in 30 are very good, a lot of cardio and strenght. Also try 6 week 6 pack... I think they are all on Exercise tv, so if you have cable look them up before buying dvds...0

that is a lot of exercise!!!! how on earth are you reaching 3000?? Ive been to the gym 3 days in a row for classes and so far my total this week is only 1200 and i thought that was a lot!0 -
I use a fitness program through my Polar HRM. I shoot for 3 hours and 50 minutes a week of training and 1750 calories. If I go above that then great but that's what I shoot for.0

Don't forget that calorie burn depends on your weight/age/cardiovascular health etc. I can see from your picture that you are very small like me. There is no way I could burn 3000 calories in a week without being at the gym 24/7. Calories burned, just like calories consumed, are different for all of us depending on our body type.0 -
I get on my treadmill for either 30 or 60 minutes daily with more on the weekends. I burn anywhere from 400 - 800 calories on average for each workout. 6 workouts at 500 cals each is 3000 cals. Last week it was a beautiful weekend, so I actually burned more than 3000.0

I can easily reach 1000 calories in one workout... you are smaller so you won't burn as much as someone who is heavier! My exercise goal is like 2500 for the week. THAT'S NOTHING FOR US BIGGER PEOPLE! But to be smart, I make my goal 1lbs per week lost. I use my HRM to track my calories burned as well... I never go by the machines because they are always off, MFP is closer than the machines are (for me, I know others it's the oposite).
So it's not unheard of to burn that much... just depends on your size and how you're working!0 -
I shoot for 3500 cals a week. At my weight and fitness level that is a 50-60 min jog/walk 7 days a week and and 25min of crosstrainig 6 days a week (I am doing Ripped in 30)
Find something you enjoy and move a little everyday is always a good way to start.
