  • Let me start off by saying you look great! What ever you are doing is working. My trainer told me to do 5 min cardio warm up, followed by weight training, then 30 min cardio. That is what I do most of the time except for my cardio only days. Be careful you do not fall into the cardio only trap( like I did). Yes you will…
  • It is irresponsible of that owner to do that. I run with my dog (pit bull) as much as I can. The last few times I was running past a house and some little mutt comes charging at us. I instructed my dog to sit (and she did) and this little mutt starts nipping at her. Since my dog is well trained to not react she just sat…
  • We spent 4 days in Amish country and I gained 10lbs. Even though mostly everything was fresh unprocessed foods I do believe it was loaded with salt and fat. It seemed to have been mostly water weight as I am now back on track for 4 days and lost 5 of the 10. So 5 pounds to go to get back where I started.
  • I donate everything that's too big. I don't want to keep larger sizes or I will unconsciously think it's ok to gain a few pounds.
  • You will still loose weight as long as your calories are below. I choose to limit my carbs as I personally feel better when I do. Also keep in mind carbs are found in many foods including fruits and vegetables. Not just bread and pasta
  • Congratulations! I remember when that happened to me. keep up the great work
  • I'm running a 5K and then cooking dinner at home...
  • I recently tried to have my wedding rings resized and was told they are too thin to be done. I had them made larger when they were purchased. Well, I have already started dropping hints that a new anniversary ring would be greatly appreciated next year.
  • I was a 9.5-10 now I'm a 8.5-9 I'm glad to see this post as I was wondering the same thing.
  • I have always weighed and measured everything, that has not changed. I have also created most of my regular recipes calculated into it as well. I do keep an eye on my protein and aim for 100-110/day. It just seems that if I eat at or near the top of my range I gain. For someone who is 5'9" it seems too low on most days.
  • There was soo much that I ate that was so bad for me. McDonalds, Burger King, Wendys, Wings, Pizza you name it. Oh and I rarely cooked at home.
  • Thanks, I've been doing that. It's been hard to stay in the range. It's almost hysterical to say this but loosing was easier, cut calories and you loose. Maintaining is hard. I'm 5'9 and it just seems that I am eating too few calories.
  • Congratulations! You are doing a great job getting healthy.
  • I'm just finishing up week 5 of season 1. I can't wait to finish this season and get the next.
  • Hi Shani I'm 5' 9' and my starting weight was 265. I was a size 26 when I started and am now a size 5. I starting doing just cardio from day 1. I started lifting in September and am currently doing a recomp. It took me 1 1/2 years to reach my goal. Feel fee to add me as I know how hard it can be and have learned a lot…
  • 3 sets of 15 modified push ups 2 sets of skull crushers with 30 lbs Run for 7 min without stopping
  • 120 in 1 1/2 years. Currently trying to figure out how to maintain
  • I had my gallbladder out many (22) years ago. The gas pains you have are from them pumping you full of air to get to the gallbladder. You need to move around to get it out and relieve the pain. The more you stay put the more it will hurt. As for diet restrictions you will have to experiment and see how you handle certain…
  • . Starting bra: 44D Current bra: 36 C Height: 5'9 Starting weight: 265 Current weight: 147
  • I eat 4-6 times a day. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner being the larger meals and snacks in between that. I have just hit maintenance so I am still trying to figure out how many calories I should eat.
  • I totally agree! I have only been lifting since October and can see a big difference in my strength and body. A trainer will help you with proper form. I've actually been approached at the gym and told you lift an awful lot for a woman!
  • You are truly and inspiration! You look amazing!
  • I agree with everyone else, you are not eating enough. Add more protein and aim for at least 1400 cal.
  • massage, pedicure or new clothes
  • I've done that and it does work but be careful not to go under 1200 calories too often. When I was varying my calories like that I made sure I didn't have 2 "low" or high days in a row. It keeps the body guessing and keeps up the metabolism. Also be mindful of how much protein you eat so you don't loose too much muscle…
  • I buy popcorn kernels in a jar. I put them into a paper bag, seal it with tape and pop it in the microwave. I give a quick spray with my olive oil mister and sprinkle cinnamon and 1 packet of truvia.
  • I totally agree with the above statement. I actually considered having lap-band surgery. When I went to the seminar the doctor preceded to tell me I didn't qualify (as per insurance) since my BMI was only 38 not the required 39. I was very blunt and stated I could gain the extra weight to qualify or meet with his dietitian…
  • I also have Hashimotos (hypothyroid) and many years ago I had a doctor give me Metformin for the same reasons yours did. I agree that you will need to do the work (diet and exercise). I didn't see much of a difference in the weight loss(about 1/4 lb a week was the average loss).
  • I have been on this quest for a year and half. I have learned a lot along the way. First of all let me say I have Hashimoto's Thyroid syndrome with a hypothyroid (almost non existent). For me to loose weight I have to work twice as hard as an average person. I've had weeks and months with great weight loss and some where I…
