I realized a great way to talk yourself out of fast food is to look up the nutritional info beforehand. Some of it is just crazy! My favorite thing in the world is a meat calzone from Old Chicago. But when I realized it comes in at over 1,700 calories I only go on my birthday now :(

Whatever you want to do is fine. I personally prefer going off my sleep cycle because I do better waking up with what feels like a "clean slate."

You don't gain fat simply by eating "junk food", and high-sodium foods will only cause temporary water retention which is very different person to person. The projection has no idea to figure either of those into the numbers. It is based on simple math alone. From a weight gained or lost perspective, all calories are…

No, it doesn't change anything. It's more of a mental thing. Most people who eat 5 to 6 smaller meals a day tend to stay more satisfied, and won't be as tempted to binge eat. It's all personal preference...eat when and how often as you want as long as you stay under your calorie limit.

For a "normal" BMI for my height, I'd have to have -1%BF to weigh that amount. My company wellness plan also tells me I need to go on a "low fat diet" still. We're still in the stone age my friend. Luckily, my family doctor is smart enough to approve my BMI and give me credit for it.

A diet high in sodium can cause high BP especially if you are genetically more sensitive to sodium. Also, there's studies out there that show sodium-to-potassium ratio is a large cause of hypertension. I started paying more attention to sodium intake and made sure to get more potassium and my BP has dropped from 145/100 to…

At 230lbs and 190lbs lean body mass, I regularly get 150-180 grams a day and have lost very very little muscle mass during a 30lb cut.

Congrats! It sounds like you have the basics down so keep it up. The serving weight is what you want to go off of, as that is what the company used to calculate the nutritional info. If it has a size (i.e. 1tbsp) that is just an estimate volume for the weight listed. The weight is accurate, use it. Servings per container…

Water. Some days you'll retain more than others. If your clothes are looser, you're losing the good stuff so keep it up.

For me, I've noticed waist circumference the most (looking from the side), but the look in the mirror doesn't change much because i still have some to lose. Arms and chest are definitely more cut

I'm opposite of most other people. I do great in the winter and gain in the summer. When it's cold out and dark early, I have nothing better to do than spend the evening at the gym. In the summer I'm much more active with lake trips and being outdoors, but that means having a beer (or 8) in my hand at the same time....and…

Very awesome! Except for the budget sometimes, and sodium content usually. Mine is 3400 this time of year, and moves up in the summer.

I've been in your position before. 2lb/week is a little too aggressive for you. "I don't have the mental strength to say no to food" - the roommate every day. Dude, no one is born with mental strength. It's built the same way physical strength is, consistently working on it. You can choose to get strong, or stay weak the rest of your life.

The general rule I follow is: Get enough protein for your size, then adjust fat/carb percentages based on activity and energy level. If I feel tired or slow, I increase carb / reduce fat to compensate.

Eating under your BMR is never recommended. So no, for you it's not okay.

I've already gotten 2 birthday presents today at work that were immediately taken back with "april fools!" being yelled as the person ran off.
