You SHOULD NOT "eat back" your calories burned. This is a huge debate in health science. Many people think you SHOULD "eat back" ...... many people think you "SHOULD NOT" eat back. it is a huge debate. At the moment, MFP happens to default to the "should" mode. This is just silly. They are changing it so that it can work…

You need help from professionals, not from the internet. You're entering the phase of your life where you're going to have a few children. Get help with your ED first.

Don't forget all cabrohydrates are just the same. No difference. Don't focus on white sugar in particular. Look at your WHOLE carbohydrate intake, always. Pick some REAL GOAL like 80 grams /c per day and stick to that. I am not a marathoner but I regularly run 15km or more. I never eat more than 72 grams of carbs per day…

If it helps you lose dozens of kilos of fat .. great ! the more overall necessity is to LOWER YOUR CARBOHYDRATE intake. that will reduce your sugar cravings.

they can work. I very simply "eat a bit more" for two days. THAT'S IT -- two days and you're back to your system. I eat say 25% - 30% more carbs / calories on refeeding days. and again, only two days. on at least two occasions I have been "plateau" and in fact "re-feeding" has helped. Hope it helps!

"Having read a few reviews I suspect it wouldn't be telling me anything I already know." You know......... ""If I had not read Protein Power, Primal Blueprint, Good Calories, Bad Calories, Atkins, Why We Get Fat, Wheat Belly ... etc, etc (yes, there are more!) then I might be tempted. " Heh !! You have good taste, but ..…

"the idea appears to be to have foods identified as portions with 12g of carbs, and have six of these a day, I got that from an Amazon review" TOTALLY INCORRECT. I urge you to delete or edit your post, as nothing spreads faster on the internet than nonsense :) heh!

Dear DeadVim --- you aim for 30 grams a day, man that is low ! LOW LOW LOW. You must be losing fat like crazy ????????? BTW re "SO IT HAS TO BE DISHED OUT IN 6 x 12 GRAMS" ... absolutely NOT. the one and only reason that is mentioned in the book is for convenience. Many things we eat happen to have about 12 grams of carbs,…

I follow the thinking of Dr. Wolfgang Lutz - he is probably the most well-known dietary scientist in German-speaking countries. His research suggest humans should stick to exactly: SEVENTY TWO GRAMS PER DAY of carbs. If you do so, after as little as a month or two, your pancreas will heal, and you will never again have any…

Fruit is just sugar. The only thing fruit does for you is give you carbohydrates - sugar. OK, it has a couple of vitamins, but so what? Any good green vegetables, not to mention any good piece of beautiful meat, utterly eclipses any trivial "vitamin" benefit in fruits. If you must eat fruit, eat strawberries. Interestingly…

Carbohydrates make you incredibly hungry. They also are the cause of body fat. Adopt a protein and fat based diet. Eat a MODERATE amount of carbohydrates .. 70 to 100 grams per day. No more.
-
You lose body fat in the kitchen, not via exercise. Exercise is a great motivator and makes you happy, but to really rip off body fat ... the kitchen.
-
Nice horse ... yeah, you have to just create a custom exercise. I had to make a lot of entries like "Run, 20km, weight Xkg ..." and so on (Hope they don't clutter it up in there for anyone !)
-
wow just saw your photos ... H O T Did I mention HOT !!!!!!!!!!
-
Urge you to read "Why we get fat" by Gary Taubes. Secondly, have a doctor check you for insulin resistance. You can DEFINITELY do it IF you have the right information.
-
30 pounds in a year is perfect - no need to lose faster! i think about 1 pound a week is really the most you can sustain over long time periods ... 30 lbs per annum is great. CONGRATS
-
Hi Leena, HOW MANY carbs do you eat each day ... that is to say, exact/ly how many grams of carbs per day, is your goal? Cheers

magnificent

You are not alone, and, quite simply, science is still struggling to understand this. Anyone who gives you any strong, immediate opinions on this - is probably just uninformed. I strongly recommend you read "Good Calories, Bad Calories" by Gary Taubes, otherwise you're just shooting in the dark. My opinions: (1) it is all…

I strongly recommend reading "WHY WE GET FAT" by Gary Taubes. The latest science could change everything you think about weight loss.
-
"I got out of a three month plateau by upping my calories, lowering my carbs and eating more protein" That's a great tip -- lower you carbs.
-
What about a one-day fast. Or just nearly fast, with a lot of coffee, and some green only vegetables and 100-200 grams of lean meat. Try that for a day or two and you'll be away !
-
Spectacular progress! Inspiring !!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Epic achievement. Inspiring.

It's amazing that it only takes ABOUT TWO OR THREE WEEKS for your pancreas to heal, and then the cravings go away. Enjoy! Get real scientific information on the topic -- read the great book "Why we get fat" by Gary Taubes.

If you're really in to this topic, may I strongly recommend you read: The Great Cholesterol Con Dr. Malcolm Kendrick packed with science you need to know.

I was able to consistently lose 2 or more pounds a week, for stretches of 10 weeks. But, I also had flat lines of 5 or 10 weeks. Almost everyone agrees weight loss is erratic. Don't forget it's much harder to lose later than at first. Many people say about 1 pound a week is about right over the long term. if you're going…
