I was MySpace friends with several of the former contestants and they pretty much said women get around 1200 calories a day and men around 1600. They do an hour of cardio waiting for the trainers t o get there, then do an hour of whatever cardio the trainers give them while they wait for their one on one session with their…

I tried to control my asthma for years on my own. I had several reactions to different meds and I was scared of them. Then I wound up in the hospital with my breathing and that was scary. I am now on Qvar and it is FABULOUS, no side effects at all. I also have a Xopenex rescue inhaler. I was able to run for 6 minutes…

I would suggest tea sweetened with honey and some lemon.

After horrid teasing in highschool (I was 138 lbs.... I know HUGE, right?) I swiped my mom's Rx for Tenuate. When I tell you I literally could not LOOK at food I am not kidding. I took them for about 2 weeks and dropped from 138 to 121 lbs. UNTIL... I passed out in geometry class. Talk about scared straight. My parents and…

I was so happy! This is going to make my transition a whole lot easier.

I don't buy the bagged salad mix anymore, but I did wash it when I bought it, also the pre-washed carrots.
-
I have never washed a banana, but it makes sense. I do wash melons and oranges before I cut them.

This looks very dangerous.

I wonder if this is why my mom (who is diabetic) CRAVES fish (specifically tuna) like a pregnant person??? She literally has to have fish about 3 times a week.

I am currently Lacto-ovo, however, of which I only purchase and consume organic and for the eggs, organic and cage free. I know there are still issues with those from a cruelty standpoint. I can't drink straight milk, but use a little in my coffee. I have asthma so I really try to limit my dairy intake, but I can tolerate…

Thanks for the support! I actually didn't know that you could track iron on here... I need to go and change my settings. I have not tried tofu yet. I think I would like to try it in a restaurant first (with someone who actually knows how to prepare it) before I try to do it on my own and have a bad experience. LOL. I have…

I am on day 6 of being Vegetarian, largely from watching movies like Food, Inc. , Fast Food Nation, The Future of Food. You should check out Earthlings. You can watch it for free online. I first started researching these movies as I moved to a more organic lifestyle, then, seeing the torture these animals face and the…

I love all of those books... a real eye opener. Read Fast Food Nation... It will scare the crap out of you!

I know the shame and pain that comes with power-shoving fast food while still in the drive through lane. I have been dealing with my mom and sister's battles with cancer for the past 6 years. How have I dealt with it? Medicating myself with a toxic supply of the nastiest, greasiest food that you can buy. I finally realized…

As far as saying not to use plastics and such and then peddling them on Biggest Loser... Bob does this as well. In his book "Are you Ready" it is always saying not to eat artificial sweetners, yet he is pushing the Extra gum, and the Dannon yogurt every week. It's a job, they have responsibilities to the sponsors, but if…

romaine, cucumber, red and green bell peppers, tomatoes, bananna peppers, mushrooms, and strawberries or pineapple!

I'm trying to talk them into replacing the filteration system with a saltwater system! LOL. I will find out when they are treating it, that is a good idea! Thank you!

I think all of the Biggest Loser Workouts are great. I also love some old school Tae Boe.

Thanks so much for all of the wonderful advice. We have a neighborhood pool that didn't open last year because of financial reasons (neighborhood was sold). I am really hoping that they open this year and I can get in a good pool workout.

and just to add... These "herbal" diet pills are not even regulated by the FDA. If you do a google search you will find that there have been studies that have shown everything from talc to ground up drywall in certain brands. I took Tri-Chromalean back in the 90's and I could drop 10 lbs. in a week. I also now have…

It also helps with asthma. I was having reactions to every controller inhaler that I tried. I finally did some research and started drinking this everyday: 1 cup cold water with ice, 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (organic, unfiltered), 1 tablespoon local honey, 1 teaspoon lemon juice (fresh, organic) I sipped it through…

Want to hear something disgusting? My sister took my son to Burger King (blech!) the other night. They were out of the kid sized cups so they gave my 9 year old a 32 oz. drink. I flipped my lid!

I shared this on Facebook... I think all parents need to see it. Our pediatrician is all about the fight against obesity in kids. She took my son off of juice, soda, gatorade 3 years ago and gave me my first lessons about HFCS. I am amazed at how many people send their kids to school with soda in their lunch boxes.

I did that one in the past and found the site rather hard to navigate...

There is also a doccumentary on Netflix called "Sweet Deception" that talks about the increase in autoimmune disorders like MS and Lupus and also brain tumors since the introduction of Equal.
-
This is excellent. I would also reccomend that everyone watch the doccumentary "Food, Inc.". Very eye opening.

anorther tip to keep cost down... eat what is in season! Not only is it fresher, it is cheaper. Look into joining a CSA (community supported agriculture) this Spring. You can have fresh, local and sometimes even organic produce delivered right to your neighborhood! The magazine "Clean Eating" is really good too. Lots of…

I will tell you that I have ALL of the Biggest Loser Books and Bob and Jillian's books and they do NOT promote the eating of junk like Yoplait. Those are pretty much commercials that are worked into the show. The first season, it was Diet Rite soda. Neither trainer suggest soda AT ALL in their books. They are paid to do…

If you can find it, watch the documentary "Sweet Deception". You will NEVER eat artificial sweetner again. I stick to water, coffee and teas with the occasional regular soft drink (maybe once a month).
