Hey- I got the same recommendation. I think I am going to alternate 1300 and 1400 every other day.

I am loving all of the advice and information. Thank you! I logged all day today and I am about 35 calories over right now (and had a big dinner... LOL) Definitely see ways to fine tune and plan. Thanks again!

Wow... great responses, everyone. Thanks for the information and for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate it. Going to give it a shot!

I used to say the same thing... bragged about my cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar... This past year I have had to have my gallbladder out, developed high blood pressure that I have to take two different medicines for, and developed tachycardia. Take it from me, those great numbers are NOT going to last forever. Do…

The time span between the first picture and the second is 3 years. I had to use the old picture as my before because I wouldn't let anyone take my picture again after seeing it. I gained back about 20 lbs. from my after, but I am working at getting it off. I kept that as my profile pic for inspiration because I felt so…

Eggs with veggies are great. You still need to eat something for lunch, even if it's just a salad. Dinner looks fine and yes, you can chew sugar free gum, but I wouldn't for the first couple of days. Sometimes it can trigger cravings for sweets. I would add some nuts or dairy as well.

It is my stress relief. Love it.

Wow... thanks for all of the replies. I am heading back to the gym (I had gallbladder surgery in late November), but prior to that, I was doing about an hour and a half to two hours of cardio a day.

I use Slimfast High Protein shake for breakfast every morning. I am not a big morning eater, so it works for me and I think it tastes good. It, along with coffee, keeps me full until lunch.

I was just diagnosed with HBP after my gallbladder surgery in November. My doctor suggested exercise, but didn't give me any restrictions. Walking and your weights sound good... maybe add in yoga or pilates?

Hi all... just started DASH today after a couple of years (on and off) of South Beach. I had my gallbladder out on November 20th and have had high blood pressure ever since. I was started on 5 mg of Lisinopril and will have to increase to 10 mg. starting tomorrow because it is still spiking to 160/101 at times. Hoping DASH…

I have gained weight the 3 times that I went vegetarian.

Trying to figure out how to add a before and after picture here...

I have one of the High Protein ones for Breakfast every morning, too. I am just not a big morning eater and this keeps me full until lunch!

Hey! I am a South Beach follower! Monday will be my 8 week weigh in. This is my second go round... in 2012, I lost 44 lbs. in 5 months. I am working out every day this time around and I am losing great!
-
Maybe you need to up them a little and see how you feel... add a fruit serving.
-
I have never had that... are you drinking plenty of water?
-
I guess I just feel awkward on it right now. I know that is silly. Thanks for the advice

Thanks for the input. I think I am going to keep up the routine and see how it goes. As far as an outside bike... I am a total clutz. I would probably fall off and hurt myself! LOL.

What park are you going to? At 5'2" and 212 lbs. I can fit on everything at Universal, Disney, and Kings Dominion. I had to do the walk of shame at Busch Gardens from the Alpengheist which is what started my weightloss journey. (I was 236 then).

I love the South Beach Diet... Hubby and I have both lost on it and feel great!

I have joined and quit Weight Watchers more times than I can count. Honestly, to me, the best part of the program is the meetings and having a stranger weigh you. They have been changing the program very frequently it seems... that would be frustrating to me. I think that different programs work for different people. I…

I think veggies and a great dip make a really good snack. If you could keep some celery and carrots at your desk with a little container of hummus, that would be nice. I also really like string cheese or nuts with a piece of fruit. The key to a filling snack is having protein with it! Good luck!

I am a South Beach Dieter and fell off of the wagon (and was drug behind and under!) since Halloween!!! In that time, I gained about 8 lbs. I generally gain 10 lbs. each year between Halloween and New Year's. I went back on South Beach the day after Christmas and I am going hardcore until I am at my goal weight.

I could never sustain on 2 shakes a day... I figure 1 is better than nothing! good luck though1

I could probably eat a pound of pasta easily. I love, love, love pasta of any kind. Oh and a Chinese Buffet. Easily 3,000 calories worth with no effort.
-
great ideas, thanks!

I'm 5'3" and shooting for 150. I weighed 155 on my wedding day and I think I looked good... I don't want to lose my curves! I am larger framed, I have very big wrists! LOL... that is what my doctor said, about judging your frame! Good luck everyone!

I just started using the Visalus shakes for breakfast. The main reason being, I have no appetite in the morning. But then I was starving by lunch. They are a good source of protein, vitamins and minerals and they do help me stay in control at lunch (though i am HUNGRY by lunch time, I am not CRAZY). I think meal…

My husband loves thicker girls. I am about 75 lbs. heavier than when I got married, but I would be happy to lose 50> He cracks me up... Loves the Lane Bryant models, but think the Victoria's Secret models look mad and hungry.
