As a fellow Mom, I really love the energy Turbo Fire brings. Nothing like being in an element with great music and massive motivation. The beauty is, you are in the privacy of your own home, so who cares how clumsy you are...just have with with it. Chalene also breaks down all the moves in her "new to class" workouts. You…

I would agree with Andre! The first week is too soon to gauge results. Definitely live 30 days, by 30 days. Take your measurements, before pics and be amazed at how things change in 30 days. Results can be all over the place, but for me, I lost 25lbs in the first 90 days. Didn't see much in the first 2 weeks, but…

I have young ones myself and the only time that works for me to hammer out my workouts is first thing. So yup, like ocds, I'm up at 5:30am to do them. They are each about an hour long, with Yoga X running closer to 90 minutes. Well worth it. Good luck if you decide to do it! I've gone through 6 rounds in 2.5 years...I…

If you bring CLEAN foods back into your diet, you can certainly keep the weight off. But like a comment above, it's not a sole option to shed weight, it's just an option to detoxify your body of all the build up and junk that accumulates for eating some of the crappy food we do. Check out the link I posted above, as it…

Sorry....haha, multi-tasking and hit the wrong button! I meant to say that I've done it a number of times and had great success. It is calorie restricting for only 3 days, but it's not nutrient restricting, which make a HUGE difference. It's definitely recommended to do it during a recovery week or a week when you aren't…

I have done it a number of times and always had great success!!

Yup...guess it took 4 or so times to finally meet him! LOL. No, I was a success story for them (http://bit.ly/P90XPostBabyVideo), so they invited me to be on QVC a few times, so that was shot just after one of our shows we filmed. He's damn funny...good person, outside of the cheese you find on the videos! Keep it up…

Good luck all!!! It's a great program and one that I credit my post-baby weight loss too! I'm here if you have questions or need help. I've completed it 6 x's since I started, 2.5 yrs ago! a light addiction! lol.

Did you follow the nutrition guide that came with Insanity? There is a formula at the front that's worth going through. I tend to not focus too much on what MFP tells me I should in take, as they don't factor into the intensity of a program like Insanity.

Congratulations on joining and making the commitment to take care of yourself!! As mom's, we need to do that, right?? And you are in good company having the support in all of us here! I will send you a FR too! Looking forward to track your journey. Taryn

I generally follow a low (grain) carb diet, but that's just my personal preference. I still eat grains, but if I do, it's in the AM and try and go with Gluten free options. Lots of veggie's and fruit to get the needed carbs from my workouts. If you have questions, shoot me a message. Wishing you luck! Taryn

I would agree with Gaby. P90X will lean you out, as us ladies don't tend to carry the testosterone that men do, thus giving them more bulk during a program like this. But, mostly it comes from what you eat too. You can workout until you are blue in the face, but if you don't have proper nutrition, it's a lost cause. I like…

If you are weight training/body resistance work (Push ups/pull ups), you are using your core, thus building it's strength as well. You don't have to train your abs daily, nor should you, as like any muscle, it needs a break to allow for recovery. Switch up your routines every 3 weeks and tighten your CORE with each…

No...it's loaded with a bunch of artificial crap. If you need creamer in your coffee, you'd be better off with regular 1/2 & 1/2 and use a smaller amount.
-
I would agree with what you NEED before you start, if you want to be successful in finishing the entire program. The fitness and nutrition guides are just as important as the discs, if not more. Can you get your hands on those from your friend? I have some information I posted on P90X: http://bit.ly/WhatisP90X. And yes,…

I agree with diamonangel - it's WAY more intense than P90X. It's not a program for beginners, so if you started it and are newer to getting back into fitness, BE CAREFUL! Also, 80% of your results will come from nutrition, so be sure you are refueling yourself with the proper foods before and after the workouts. Your body…

There are some fruits that are better than others, and I think, all should be taken in moderation. Although a natural sugar, most fruits, especially the sweetest and tastiest ones, carry more carbs. Which is fine, just all depends on what type of nutritional plan/lifestyle you are following. I've found this article, and…

Well, that's why we move on and don't look back. I re-read some of Mark's book last night and loved how refreshing it was. I've gotten a lot of back lash from dietitian friends that think Primal eating is a "trend" with the no grains, no fat-free/low-fat food. It's surprising they won't read the information, instead judge…

Thank you. P.S. I'm SOOOOOOOO trying your heavy cream and berry treat when I get back. Sounds sooooo delish right now.

I would definitely suggest using a HRM to gauge your OWN calories burned and not guess. Everyone is different in calorie expenditure, so you don't want to overshoot it or under calculate. You can create a "custom" workout in the cardiovascular section, which I do for all my workouts. Slim in 6 is a great 6 week program…

Here's a great article that was on Mark's website, not sure if you guys saw it: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/why-grains-are-unhealthy/ I've learned a ton and now see the benefit to NOT having grains in my diet....95% of the time. :drinker:

You are right, they are chemicals - and some are not harmful to our buddies. Although these (water, vitamins, etc) being naturally derived chemicals and not genetically enhanced or modified in a lab to provide a flavor that is not otherwise, natural, much like the sugar free and olean products. I'm just saying there are…
-
I would just be careful of the sugar free stuff and chips with Olean. They are chemicals, thus harmful to our bodies and will significantly slow your desired results and compromise your health (immune system). Just a thought.. :flowerforyou:

I can all too relate. I'm a huge fan of all, but you have to stay strong and keep sight on your goals. Do you have your "WHY" or goals posted in front of you on a daily basis? That's really helpful for me, especially when it's on the fridge, so I won't open those doors to reach for the guilty stuff. With that being said,…

Another great motivator to keep pushing through, is have a mirror in the area you do your workouts, so you can A) watch your form and B) watch your figure as you jump around. That encourages me each day, as I hate watching the jiggles and shakes when I'm jumping around.

Wow girl!! Way to go for getting this far!! That's a major accomplishment. You should be proud of yourself. What did you do to lose the initial 15lbs? Insanity is great...hard, but great. It's definitely not a beginner program, which I'm sure you are well aware of. Just be sure to listen to your body and know when you need…

Are you sure it wasn't Coconut MILK instead of oil? I can't say I've heard of coconut oil in coffee, although I use it in everything to cook with. The longer I've gone without grains and sugar, the better I feel!!

P90X is a great program, as many have vouched for on here. However, it's not a program for beginners. I don't know your current fitness level, so certainly don't want to assume anything, but if you are just setting out to get back in shape after a break, I would almost suggest something else. There are lots of options that…
-
Oh man...isn't Insanity wild? I've gone through a full round of it and use it often in my P90X hybrid! As for logging the workouts, I tend to create one specific to the actual DVD and use my HRM to calculate my calories. If you don't have a HRM while doing Insanity - YOU NEED ONE! Good luck and let me know what you think…

Don't get discouraged. We all go through it. It must be what you are eating/are not eating. I'd be happy to take a look at your food diary if you'd like some suggestions?? Send me a DM and we can chat. DON'T GIVE UP!!
