Aside from running, are you doing any strength training? That's really key in building up endurance and stamina, especially core strength. I trained with P90X for my first marathon last year and was able to make it through injury free. Also, like Hermit mentioned, be sure to progress slowly with your distance…

I would definitely caution P90X after a C-section, as it's no walk in the park after vaginal delivery, that's for sure. I did it after my 2nd and I had to wait until my son was 4 mos to start. I had trouble with Ab Ripper X, so if you are to start P90X, I would try and do a less advanced ab program to start. I know one…

I just sent you a message on what worked for me. I hope it's helpful.

Just be careful of these liquid cleanses as they can be harmful and strip you of all vital nutrients that one needs to be healthy and function throughout the day. I don't generally trust those "store bought" cleanses as they just don't offer the substance you need to still be healthy. Listen to your body, if it says…

Great job!! Awesome that you have quite the library of Beachbody programs. P90X and Insanity are 2 of my favorite...well, them and ChaLEAN Extreme, Brazil Butt Lift and, ok, all are great. Best of luck and be sure to keep us posted.

I just completed a 3-day cleanse, which I share my results here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/87263-3-day-cleanse-results. I found it to be a bit more substantial than a "liquid cleanse", as I had ample energy due to the nutrients I was receiving from Shakeology. To each there own, but I think this is a…

Yeah!!! Hi there great buddy! So thrilled you came on over to the wild side! Great people here and enjoying each of the new relationships I've built along the way. See you soon! Taryn

Can't think of it as a "diet" as to me, means something short lived and rapid. Eating clean and healthy is a way of life. YOu just need to re-evaluate what you put into your mouth each day, as much like many posted here, it's about cleaning up your nutrition, riding your meals of processed foods, diet pops, starchy carbs…

Slim in 6 is a total body series that's designed to work you from head to toe. It incorporates strength training and a good balance of cardio to elevate your HR and get your body to function as a fat burning machine. Strength training is so key in building muscle, as that's what helps us burn fat. Muscle burns fat. Stick…

I also think that many people, including my husband, look to food to alleviate stress. Working a busy 5-6 day work week, you want to enjoy the weekend and not "think" about what you are eating and/or should be eating. I don't agree with that. Probably my biggest frustration being a Nutrition Coach and having a husband that…

Better yet, here is that YouTube video of Tony speaking to the importance of Yoga: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4opvart2Hjo.

Turbo Jam!! Although I will say, both are very different. Isn't the 30-day shred a strength training program as well? Turbo Jam is a total body workout, with some sculpting, but definitely will be more challenged and have accellerated calorie burn, over the 30 day shred.

I know Yoga X is usually the one that people don't look forward to, but I'll tell ya, if it's your first round of P90X, it's SO ESSENTIAL in fulfilling the program and getting results. Yoga allows you to connect your mind to your muscles and help them heal and elongate. We want that, as does your body need the rest. So,…

That's funny, as I asked for the Bow Flext select tech weights for Mother's Day last year, instead of jewels. I get more use out of those, than any jewelry! I love them. Definitely worth the investment.

YEAH!!! I'm so excited for your Heidi. You deserve that. I cringe when people share with my their battle for weight loss and I find that they aren't getting anywhere with starving their bodies of calories. (1,200 cals and less). I think you'll find too, as you get stronger and challenge yourself with upping your weights on…

I would definitely run no more than 4 x's a week, like gym_rat mentioned, although making that 4th run a longer endurance run. One that increases in distance each week, although tapers every couple weeks. There are a ton of excellent running schedules out there, likely for the exact race you are running as well. If you can…

Amen, artificial chemical, of course.

Why don't you want to build muscle? Muscle is the catalyst to burning fat and triggering your metabolism. Just be mindful of some of the options you find at WalMart or non-nutrition shops, as they cheaper the options are, the cheaper the product you are getting. Meaning, instead of getting a quality product, that may cost…

Too much of any one thing, isn't always good. That goes for Fiber as well. Like many have said, women should have about 25 grams per day and men about 35-40 grams per day, followed by ample water. Often times, if you have TOO much fiber, it could lead you to constipation or extreme bloat and gas. If you taken in your daily…

I would have to agree here. The artificial sweeteners are often more lethal to your health, since they are a chemical. If you have to have a sweetener of sorts to your coffee, head to Whole Foods or a natural grocery store and get liquid Stevia (comes in great flavors) and keep it in your purse. It's natural, has no…

You are right. P90X is not a program for anyone. Definitely takes one that is physically active and has been. I really feel for the ones that dive into P90X without any guidance or support to know otherwise. I always advise my customers on the most appropriate workout system for them, based on their CURRENT phyiscal…

No problem. Send me an email: taryn@choose2befit.com and I'd be happy to send you the PDF logs.

You could definitely mix Insanity into your running schedule. In fact, it's a great workout to incorporate into a marathon training. I used it to train for my 2nd race. Send me a message and I can share my experience.

I've done 3 rounds of P90X and followed the nutrition guide very closely, for the first round. The 2nd round, I followed the 30 day phased eating, although switched up the meals, while staying within my fat/protein/carb ratio. I will say that the nutrition is a HUGE part of success to P90X. If you aren't a meat person,…

I've done 2 marathons and a few 1/2 marathons. They are so much fun to do and such a reward to finish. Regardless of your time. I would suggest to give yourself 6 months to properly train. You'll want to gradually increase your mileage with each week, then bring it back down. There are a ton of running schedules out there,…

What incredible inspirations for running races. I'm totally motivated to step it up. Together we'll inspire one another! Cheers!

Thank you! Definitely something you could shoot for! Why not??!!

I think if you are experiencing shin splints, you need to lay off your runs for a bit, but definitely work on your strength by lifting weights. I really think P90X is a great way to build endurance and strength, outside of running. Especially the Plyometric DVD. That one is killer in doing any sort of training. If you…

Well it's dairy and soy free, which a lot of people have a big intolerance too. I loved it for so long, used it with my Shakeology, although began having stomach issues from the flavored kind (unsweetened Vanilla), so had to stop taking it. I don't think there are tremendous health benefits from it, so if you are lacking…

I think anytime you can have a snack that's more raw or a whole food, instead of a pre-packaged goods, you are money ahead in your nutrition and budget. :drinker: Instead, I would say grab a handful of raw almonds or walnuts or apple with natural PB or almond butter, instead of snacking on these 100 cal grab bags. They…
