I eliminated processed foods. Weight Lift. Am very active. I am very mindful of the foods I eat, I try to eat nutrient dense foods as much as possible. [/quote] Eliminating processed foods is key in my lifestyle change AND eating, as you put it, nutrient dense foods. These two things have made it easy (I hesitate to use…

For me it's lifestyle and mostly summed up by the way I think about food. Beyond that, my new way of eating is not just until I've lost the rest of my weight goal; it's for the rest of my life. I heard some one say that the word diet sounds like two words: die it. Wouldn't we rather live it?

Hello, it's me again. I wanted to add that I would not add oil of any kind but what comes in "plant" food. Oils are a processed food that don't do us any favors. The oils in nuts, seeds, avocados and olives are great sources of the best oils. Thanks, and again, wishing you much success, Raihn

Hi there, I didn't read through everyone's comments, so I hope my observations are not a repeat. 1) Add a handful of raw nuts or seeds (not oiled and roasted!). They have many essential phytonutrients AND add fast, easy delicious calories. 2) I don't see whole grains. Switching to all 100% whole grains (rice, cereals,…

Woou: Impressive!
-
Hey woou. lol Sounds like you need to eat more veggies!
-
Yes sayekim, me too.

Now that's a good one. I'm a label reader too. But do you ever wonder sometimes if the label is just plain wrong? I have checked some label values online that I doubted and I really wonder sometimes if they just try to make their food look good.

Especially veggies!

Hi Johnna1 . . . Just wanted to add something not yet mentioned, I think. Fiber is a major factor in weight loss and good health. You can't track fiber, or any other food values that are important to our health unless we log everything. Good luck!
-
Oh yeah. I log it all except for straight spices and herbs. I certainly log the oil I use to cook something, the sugar in my tea, and the tea. It would be too easy to forget, get sloppy, etc., and it adds up way to fast! I want to loose weight or know why by reviewing my log. Good luck! I know the holidays are going to be…

Thanks jlanab and 4baby for your comments. I'm having a toe fusion and cannot put any weight on it for 6 wks. NO WEIGHT at all, I have been warned, if I want it to be successful. After that I'll get a boot and be able to walk without crutches for the first time. So no gym or elliptical for me, but I do hope to do some…

Thanks! Yeah, I'm not looking forward to the recovery but am expecting good results in the end. So I'm happy to hear that yours was so much better after surgery. I didn't think about trying to carry food. lol Maybe it'll be easier to continue to loose than I thought.

Hey, I'll check YouTube - good idea. Wow, that's really something! Thanks for sharing about BOTH feet - wish I could take care of both at the same time.
-
Clue - What exactly is that? How?
-
Wow Uerzer, your pancakes make my mouth water! I usually get very good nutrition - lots of veggies - so I like your idea of an occasional relaxing of the rules, so to speak. But that's so easy to do I have to be careful.
-
Thanks everybody. Lots of helpful ideas and the positive feedback is worth a million bucks for lifting the grey cloud that was building over my head. Y es, the boredom will be my enemy. I'll have to see if I can find the Sit and Be Fit videos for after the first 2 wks. I have "books on tape" and hope they'll fill in some…

Eric and Curly: That's encouraging - thanks!
