Wow, what a great space here on MFP! I'm 59, dreading the big 60 and am back on MFP after leaving for a while. My particular challenge is using a manual wheelchair full time for about 6 years. But I find it also allows me access to nature trails I never could have walked on, and long cardio-rolls thru museums, parks and…

Some people have had bariatric surgery and cannot eat 1200, some eat 600-800 cals. Some people are using wheelchairs and do not burn anywhere near what the generic equations of MFP suggest, but burn much less, there we eat less. You have now heard of 2 reasons why people would eat below 1200 cals a day.

I innocently took Niacin some Whole Foods vitamin guy recommended, and it was a nightmare. It turns your skin red and you 'flush.'. That is what is supposed to happen, but it was so uncomfortable, I'd never do again. I laid in a cold bath tub of water trying to calm the red swelling..and finally, finally it ended. Good…

You can do it, we can do it! It's the minute by minute choices we make. They either support our goals or make us feel temporarily good, and don't fit. I know which ones I've made that have screwed me up..and now I'm trying like you, to get back to basics...

I thought it meant using whole foods, minimal processing, not a lot of junk?

Be careful the IV treatments don't contact Cipro : it can cause many other bad outcomes other than tendon injuries. Many permanent. Google this stuff before you allow MDs to drip this poison into you...if it's what they prescribe. ************* Federal regulators are ordering new warnings on Cipro and similar antibiotics…

Hi there, also you can't discount the wheelchair use. We don't get anywhere near the same daily cardio burn that others do walking/doing vigorous workouts. It seems other than some superhuman exercise effort, reduced cal intake is the only way to really loose weight. We gotta wiggle more!

Oh dear. Find a GOOD therapist, fast. Redo your hairstyle, get new clothes and go out with the girls. Hubby will realize what he lost. Hugs to you--this can be very hard but build a bunch of solid supports around you so you have a way through the hard moments.

what is a macro and a micro?

at 5.5 weeks you need far more time to really give this a good analysis. And I never eat back my exercise cals..if I can manage. I don't give a hoot what other people say here..I never do and it's one of the only ways I ever lose weight. Do what you need to lose weight, your way. Don't always pay 100% attention to all the…

10 is too much...so says Dr. Oz.

It's worked for me for yeas, but you have to take it *way* before sleep time, like 1-2 hrs. Also, do NOT take a bunch, like 5+ MG. try to find 1 mg. Or 3, but keep the dose low. It is a hormone and high doses are not good.

Regarding the trainer, do you have any info on what that could cost, how many sessions, etc? Interesting!

How sweet of you guys to mention me so soon when I haven't even done anything memorable yet...yet! Thnx.

1200 works great for me but I don't lose much, I find I have to really work out consistently and frequently to lose on 1200. I use a wheelchair so I am more sedentary than most. Try some different cal settings and burns to see where you drop weight at the rate that feels good to you. :-) t

Hi all, I'm interested in joining this group and having you as friends on my MFP account...I need active folks to help me get back some motivation. I've been on & off MFP for about 2 years and need to get back moving my bod! I can eat fairly healthy, clean but exercise is the issue, as I use a wheelchair, (manual). So I'm…

Great post, I remember seeing your progress posts and photos over the last couple years. Keeping this weight off for 2 years has to make you feel as good, if not better than the first losses. Hugs to you on your mom's passing. Terri

Go dress shopping next time with your friends, not a MIL. Her actions were hurtful but you're going to know her for a long time, so just get past it and shop with people you love and who respect you!

why ask for feedback when your mind is made up and you seem dead set on doing it no matter health effects-just go ahead and try it and let us know :-)
