  • This is what I needed to hear. Thank you. :) And no, I won't be going "way down" ever again. I lost weight back then, but I was miserable and obviously it wasn't something I could maintain. Besides, I really like having muscle. I feel better and it looks much better than just losing fat.
  • I guess I just meant I've never eaten in a deficit after purposely bulking to gain muscle. I've always just eaten at a deficit to lose fat and gone way down in calories to a ridiculous level. I wanted to make sure lifting 5 days a week while cutting is not too much. Thanks for the information and the advice!
  • I am ready to start cutting for the first time. I am dropping back to 1700 cals daily, which works for me, but I have never done it with the minset of cutting. Obviously don't want to lose anymore muscle than I have to. Is it appropriate for me to lift 5 days a week for about 45 minutes and leave out cardio, keeping macros…
  • I prefer walk/hike to jogging. Easier on the knees and ankles in the long term.
  • They have other kinds, which do include hummus. My apologies for lumping them all together. I got excited.
  • Oasis Black Bean Hummus. They have other flavors as well. Only 110 calories for the ENTIRE thing. SO GOOOOOD and healthy. Cause I can never eat the actual recommended serving of typical hummus which is 2 tablespoons, and is way higher in calories. Nutrition Facts Serving Size 2 Tbsp. - 30g Servings Per Container 10 Amount…
  • Ok I stopped weighing myself because I knew going through this reset would most likely result in some weight gain. I can tell I have gained some weight. I know this is part of the process. I am just writing to let it out. I am horrified that I may end up gaining a LOT. I didn't "rip the band-aid" so to speak, but I was…
  • Legumes: hummus, black beans, kidney beans, peanut butter, quinoa, almonds
  • Haha, I should have written this better. I meant is it possible to lose while resetting for the first time. I'm a dork. Obviously it's possible to lose while eating more, that's the whole point of this program!
  • Yeah I did end up recalculating after a few people pointed that out. I am eating 2000 daily now, working my way up toward 2350, which seems so nuts to me. Haha. I have stopped weighing myself for now, because I was becoming a little too obsessed with the scale. However, I have been able to wear a pair of scrub pants today…
  • I will certainly keep in touch! I have to say after losing a hundred pounds, these last 20 have been the most difficult of my life. They just will not come off I am looking forward to finally reaching my goal, whatever that weight is.
  • It's been a weird journey for me @cinblog1965 , that's for sure. I went from eating WHO KNOWS how much everyday, and being morbidly obese, to losing 100 lbs and eating 1200 calories. Now I need to eat more again, haha. The difference in what and how I eat has made a huge difference in how I feel and my activity levels have…
  • Ok, based on adjusting the TDEE for my activity I will start a reset. Looks like around 2000 daily, so that's an increase. Slow but sure.
  • Thank you so much, this is helping. :) The cleanse isn't a liver cleanse, or a colon cleanse, it's a cellular cleanse. I still get about 550 calories on those days, but it's from some really high end nutritional powders I mix with water. It's more of a "encourage your body to break down old cells and rebuild with better…
  • Good point! :D I am: 5'6 165lbs 34 According to the TDEE calculator on the EM2WL site: BMR (Sick/Bed Rest) 1516 TDEE (Maintenance) 1820 Calories based on selected goal 1547 (15% deficit)
  • Thanks so much everyone! This helps a lot.
  • Yes, I know... What I am asking is if it's equivalent to watching daily. If my thinking is correct. If my weekly total is on target does it matter how it's spread throughout the week?
  • I love this stuff! It's a healthy spice powder with protein. I add it to my smoothies, cottage cheese, oatmeal, etc. It comes in Apple Pie, Snickerdoodle, and Birthday Cake. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
  • I am learning more about this as well. I am looking for a good pair of hiking boots that will support my feet and keep the snow out. I may continue my hiking after all, and I hope you can too!
  • I often mix egg whites into my oatmeal, after it's already cooked a while on the stove. It makes them fluffy and full of protein. Can make it savory or sweet.
  • Yes, as a nurse, I can assure you if you are experiencing soreness from the flu vaccine, the more you move it the better it will feel.
  • Crossfitter here! Love it. Have not hurt myself, but I also take it slow and listen to my coaches. I don't try to jump ahead without being ready. Such a great program. :) Like my second family!
  • The seasons are changing here in Montana. Although autumn is going to make for some breathtaking hiking, I'll probably have to move indoors for winter. Boooo. :(
  • I hike every Saturday as well! In Montana there are literally hundreds of places to hike. It is fantastic, and I agree with the varied benefits. It's not just exercise, it's relaxing, invigorating, inspiring, and wonderful.
  • May I ask a question that is related to this thread? I am a new fat burn beginner, and I have been completing crossfit sessions M-W-F, and about an hour of moderate cardio 4-5 days a week. I have seen some muscle growth and some fat loss, but it is of course slow. I am totally ok with that. My question is: if I maintain…
  • This is pretty much true for everything. :D
  • I think it's fantastic! I have been an avid walker for a long time. I am happy in silence, with music, or now- Pokemon. If it brings you joy and motivates you to move there's nothing wring with it. :) Now if I could just find the Pikachu that's been haunting my "nearby" list...
  • I drink two cups of coffee and eat my gummy vitamins before the gym. But, I get up and go to the gym at 5:30am, so I don't really want to eat that early. I take my food with me and eat at work, around 7:30am. Seems to work best.
  • Oh yes, heckled all the time. I don't think it even matters if you're fit or out of shape. Hecklers just heckle. I was heckled at 100lbs over weight, and I'm still occasionally heckled now that I only have about 20lbs to lose. It bothered me at first, but then I got angry and decided I was doing this for me, not them, and…
  • Not a fan of Vega. The taste is not my favorite. I am really hesitant to use protein powders because so many of them have terrible additives. While Vega is a great brand, I just couldn't force myself to drink it. I now rotate between Orgain protein powders and Thorne Research protein powders. Orgain tends to blend better,…
