i trust them! they very closely match the numbers of my $120 heart rate monitor... make sure to only count the time you're actually working

i'm in the same boat. can't wait to hear the responses. i lift 3x a week and cardio all the other days. i heard that setting your goal to lose 1 lb a week is too much with this little to lose so i changed it to 1/2 lb a week which puts me at 1420 calories. i'm looking better and better but i'm only 5'1" so 143 is alot...…

i'm in need of motivation too. we can cheer each other on. friend me if you'd like. i wonder the same as below. do you always workout this much? i usually only do an hour a day

i'm glad to know others are doing this that have lifted before. i guess i just need to find a way to make this more challenging. the only new thing for me was push ups on my toes. i've never done them because in cardio/strength classes they go so fast i can't get the reps in. but i was suprisingly able to do this at my own…

OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok

my heart rate monitor has a strap and cost $119 i got about the same numbers... mfp estimates that you are truly working hard. i assume that most people are just standing around and taking a lot of breaks during the time that they input and therefore it will obviously be wrong. input the time you actually are working out.…

mfp is very accurate since it uses your height/weight/age/gender. the machines do not. i wasted money on a heart rate monitor for $119 and got very similar numbers. as long as you're working hard and not just standing around, this website has great estimates. additional note: if you're doing something like a jillian…

i've heard don't do both in the same day but for us busy people who need to get it where we can, do weights then cardio for the same reasons mentioned above by others :)
-
great work! my boyfriend looks like you currently so i understand. keep it up!

i found it to be a waste of money. i wanted to count the calories i was burning using Jillian Michaels videos. turns out the MFP numbers for circuit training were pretty accurate. it also matches the number i'm getting from the cardio/strength class i've been taking at the gym... i bought a polar RS100 for $120....
