I've genetically got it, I'm a pear shape so hips and bum is the last place I lose from. I always used to wish my bum was flatter, luckily for me big bums seem to have become the fashion!

Me too!

It's probably that the muscle is bigger on one side. I am right handed, and when I flex both arms, the right bicep is noticeably bigger than the left. I always find it easier lifting my kettlebell on the right side compared to the left!

I always wore Asics Cumulus but last time changed to Brooks Ghosts. I did like the Brooks but they don't have as much padding so I feel they wore out quicker so have gone back to the Asics.
-
It depends on which ones are most suitable for you and your gait. I went to a running store and got a gait test and was given Asics.

2 weeks is no time, I didn't weigh myself for the first month of starting my diet because I knew it would take time to get started and I didn't want to get despondent over it. Also, when I lost weight after my second child 8 years ago, I was breastfeeding and the weight did drop off once it got going, just give yourself a…

The best ones I have found are some gummy ones for £5!

I can't even do one!

I'm 5'8", and normally I'm around 140lb. I start to look thin once I go under that, though I am aiming to get to 135lb. When I was in my late teens, the lowest I was was 126 and when I look back at those pics I look scrawny!

I ordered my kettlebells online, it made me laugh when the postman commented on how heavy my parcel was!
-
I've dropped a size by loosing 20lbs, I'm quite tall though (5'8") so putting on weight and losing it doesn't make a huge change.
-
From now on, always make sure the scales are in the same place when you weigh in. I always put my scale on a certain tile in the kitchen! Just go with the first reading for now.

I took up running as a new years resolution 8 years ago. I was so self concious about it I only went out in the dark so no one could see me! Edit to add, over the years I have had people shout abuse at me, but with my headphones on I can't hear what they are saying so it doesn't affect me. Someone even went as far as…

I was in a similar situation in that I had been running for a long time, was doing 10k races regularly at a decent pace (for me!), and then 18 months ago I had a bad horse riding accident that left me with a broken pelvis. It took over a year to fully recover, and it's really only been since October that I started running…

I started kettlebells 6 months ago, at the time I started off with a 6kg one, but quickly needed something heavier, so got a 8kg one. A few months after that I got a 12kg one.

Knowing I've got to keep going to get home! I rarely give up and walk because it makes it so much harder to get going again, just slow the pace down a bit if necessary.

I bought some apple and cinnamon flavoured Rivitas thinking they wouldn't taste as much like cardboard as the original ones do, but they did, there was no flavour at all! The horse liked them though!

I'm in the UK, but when I take my kids to school, I have seen other parents walking with their kid who is on a scooter to school, and after dropping the child off, the parent uses the scooter to go home!

Special K cereal and lactofree semi skimmed milk.

Just under a pound a week. I don't want to loose any more than that because I only want to loose body fat, not muscle.
-
I haven't told anyone other than close family. Mostly because I was ashamed to have put on weight in the first place, so didn't like to announce it!

5'8", currently 148lb, goal 135-140lb.

That's what I come here for, I personally like to keep it separate to everything else.

Me too.

Brilliant, thank you all for the advice and taking the time to reply. I'll start eating more of the things everyone has suggested, and that article was helpful too.

In that case I think I am consuming significantly less protein than I should be but I still don't know how to get that much per day unless I just eat fish and nothing else!
-
Thank you for all your input, much appreciated. I don't know if my protein intake is a cause for real concern or whether I'm just over thinking things. I suppose I just want to make sure I don't end up skinny fat, I'd like to keep my muscle and I don't know if too little protein would impact that. According to MFP, my…

I took up running 8 years ago to loose weight after I had had my last baby. I lost loads of weight doing that. 18 months ago I had a bad horse riding accident that left me unable to walk for three months, let alone run, and I put 28lbs on. Since January I've been back running regularly again and have now lost most of that…

I just think about how much I've lost so far, and how close I am to my goal. I had last weekend away so I ate and drank things I don't normally, which made me feel like I've really had enough of being on a diet, so the last few days has been a struggle to get back into it!
