It slows down to a point in order to preserve the body tissue you currently have, but at some point it has to use something for fuel and begins to consume muscle, and then fat until there is nothing left to consume. Next organ failure, etc and death.

What I've been doing s as the individual levels get easier I up the weights that I use. If I'm getting used to the 3lbs I move to 5, but I stay on each level for the full 10 days. Although I haven't experienced much soreness I have lost about 3 lbs since starting. After the shred I'm going to focus on heavy lifting…

1200 might still be too low, especially if you started out eating a whole lot more. It's recommended to decrease your calories by about 500 so if you were eating 2500 before you should be eating 500 now. Also don't forget to eat back the calories you workout off through exercise. 1200 is kind of a base point people use but…

Haha, very true! Maybe try upping to to 3-4 days a week and see if that works for you? I haven't tried P90x but I have heard good things. My brother is doing it now so I'll probably try it after he finishes.

It's not a hard and fast rule. Just a general. If you are getting MOST of your food from the outer section of the grocery you are likely going to be okay. These things usually require refrigeration or need to be handled carefully because they are fresh/can spoil. If MOST of your food comes from the inner part probably not.…

Absolutely! Salsa is a great healthy condiment (make sure it's low sodium of course). I too love me some chips and salsa so what I do is make my own salsa or guacamole and use either Benitos chips (made with beans instead of corn and has protein) or multi grain/baked tortilla chips. You can also make your own chips using…

Do you strength train at all? And when I say strength train I don't mean using 5 lbs dumbbells lol. I mean really lift and build muscle? Sounds like you may be helped by building more muscle to increase metabolism and thus burn more fat.
-
Great Story. I wish more people realized that your body can't survive on 1200 calories and it definitely can't build muscle and strength.

I use a combination of real sugar and Stevia in the Raw when I make tea. But real sugar isn't as bad for you as people think. It's actually natural just as honey is and isn't a significant amount of calories unless you're over sweetening things anyway.

I cook with Olive Oli, Coconut Oil and Peanut Oil usually but you really don't need much to pan sear chicken. You can also use stock to soften veggies which will keep them from sticking to the pan. But as someone mentioned, you need good, healthy, fats in your "diet" so don't try and cut them out completely. You can also…

Frozen veggies keep longer and are just as nutritious as their fresh counterparts. Canned however aren't as good if there is no salt added. Keep in mind that they are cooked inside of the can which means much of the nutritional content is leached into the liquid. Keep that in mind. The one canned item I don't have a…

Keep in mind the machines in the gym are also inaccurate, often up to 40% off. A Heart Rate Monitor will be your best friend if you want to know exact amounts but for me I choose to guesstimate based on the MFP #'s and generally lower them by a few.

You need to eat more. I know it sounds counter productive but 1200 is the bare minimum a person should net if thy want to survive. Because you're working out a lot you likely need much more than that (Closer to 1500 -1700) as the body needs fuel to put out that much effort. So calculate your BMR and figure out from there…

I watched this about a week or so ago and t definitely made me consider diving for food for a hot second. It's so sad how much food is wasted in this country. Great Doc.

I only logged Breakfast on Thanksgiving and will do the same for Christmas. One day isn't going to break ou. Just be mindful of what your eating. It's a day or family and friends. I check my calorie counting at the door for such occasions.

They do sort of trick the body into thinking it is receiving calories so those who drink diet sodas tend to over eat and are generally heavier than those who don't. You don't have to cut out anything all the way in my opinion but limit them to a few times a week. I haven't had much soda since I've been on MFP and I…

You also can make your own soups at home with all of the things you love to eat and you control the amount of sodium. Make a big batch one afternoon on the weekend and freeze it in individual serving containers for the week. So much better for you and super fast.

You can do it! Once I figured out how food influences my body and the right amounts to eat things got a lot easier.

The one that is best is the one you will use. So many people buy treadmills that end up collecting dust because they just aren't the type of people who will run a lot, if at all. If you go to the gym and use the treadmill more than the elliptical then get that but make sure whatever you get is something that will actually…

If you open up your diary we can see what you are eating and how much. It would be easier to help that way.

I just read this tip on Tumblr. Maybe it will help someone here :)
-
I check the menu online before hand so I can see nutrition info and decide before I even leave what I will order. Another idea is to eat before you go and just hang out and maybe have a drink or two.
-
Yes. As long as you are in a calorie deficit you will lose weight. In fact it's recommended that you eat them because your body will need the extra fuel.
-
Grea! I've added your blog to my ever expanding list of food blogs to follow :)

Adding applesauce to the plain is a good idea. Maybe even pureed banana... Great ideas here guys :)

I also use the recipe tab a lot.

I'm totally thinking of the same thing, but for myself as I'm boyfriendless at the moment lol. I say go for it!

That's so amazing! Great work :)
