I'm a low carber and its not the carbs that make you fat, its eating over your maintenance. Low Carbing works for me but there is more than one way to skin a cat.

The world is FULL of ****heads, I tried teaching some a lesson when I was younger but realised there are too many out there, unfortunately we have to share our public spaces with idiots. It's what's on the inside that counts, let fools share our space and ignore them for they know not what it means to be a good person on…

[/quote] It's trial and error for the most part, but you've got a good understanding. [/quote Yep, it's not an exact science, also dont expect to understand your progress by looking at one day, look at one week then make adjustments according to your weekly results. Be consistent (measure yourself at the same time each…

I just looked at your food Diary and I'm not sure your Macros are right. the carbs look pretty high to me. A low Carber should be getting no more than 30gms of carbs a day. I work to a 65% Fat, 35% protein 5% Carbs split and the weight is falling off me, especially since I introduce Cardio in week 2.

I was winging it on low carbs, low fat, high protein, I didn't track my calories and use to run 10km in an hour 4 times a week, I was exhausted, had bad skin felt tired and miserable. this is probably typical of a low carb / Keto fail It's only now I have calculated my macro's and made the minor adjustments based on…

You keep doing what you're doing. Interesting that when I went Primal I lost 4% body fat in no time - with less exercise and no LBM loss. I guess that was from the water loss/glycogen depletion (and the reason carbs cause water retention? They inhibit sodium excretion in the kidneys. The body retains water to "balance…

The first time i tried low carbs I was over exercising and not getting enough fats = Fail This time I feel great and I am losing Body Fat . You can carb up 1 hour before exercise or carb up once a week (the latter works for me) I am keeping a diary of my experience if you want to check it out…

Hi Jen Exercise can build muscle which is heavier than fat so you may be losing fat and gaining muscle hence no movement on the scales. your body may also be holding more water. Sometimes we just hit a plateau and need to keep going to break through it. I would suggest ditching the scales and getting a tape measure and…

50% loss???? Katie If you are gonna shoot for the stars it's a loooooooooooong way, try reaching for the moon first. I does not matter what I do in my life whether it's weight loss, sales targets I find hitting short term goals are more likely to helping me on my way to achieve my long term goals. I have an annual sales…

If you want to do a Keto Diet Carbs 5% Protein 30% Fat 65% Try to use good sources of fat liek Salmon, nuts, high quality oils etc etc Do you know what your BMR is?
-
Dont worry about the scales, Losing bodyfat and losing weight do not go hand in hand exclusively. You may be retaining water. Forget about the scales and use a tape measure as your barometer of success

Better to Piss like a racehorse than get Kidney stones :)

I'm two weeks into Keto and have gone from 87.8kg to below 86kg without losing strength and feel fine. Keto DONE PROPERLY Is an excellent diet, Lots of people who do not have success with Keto are usually not eating enough calories or are not getting the right Macro nutrients. Hey Congrats on your marriage. I got married on August 19th 2011 to a wonderful lady so I share your joy. Cross Trainers are low impact, a lot of runners use them when they have injuries but they might not be so good movement wise. I'm no expert but my best advice is drink to shrink. 2 litres of water a day will help…

Try Firebox.com for inspiration, they always have quirky stuff on the website :)

I've been easting those Oats so simple packets, mainly apple and blueberry however this site has showed me that they contain a high sugar content. I'm waiting for my current stash to run down before I move onto plain porridge and add my own natural fruit for sweetness. Some good tips in this thread on what to add by the…

I used to graze like a cow chewing the cud all day long.... Based on a working day of 9-5pm I find that drink a litre of water in the morning and another litre during the afternoon suppresses my urges to snack between meals like I used to. I also added to my daily meal plan a mid morning and mid afternoon meal/snack. I…

I have read that Sugar that occurs naturally in fruit is nowhere near as bad as sugar in processed foods like chocolate etc, bruthacuervo is right, you should not worry about fruit sugars too much. Good luck with your goals.
