I'll join! I'll start on Monday. I did this about a year ago and it made a huge difference in my life. Not only weight loss but it cleared up sinus and inflammatory issues I'd been having for years. Unfortunately, I resorted to bad habits during a stressful time last September and my issues are back. Ready to go back to…

I am loving this lifestyle. I woke up this morning without the usual brain fog and no sinus issues. Not sure how much is real and how much is in my head, but so far so good. It would be great if you guys could post some recipes in the group.

Thanks Heista moon. It's the Guar gum that concerns me. I did find a can of Trader Joe's ligt coconut milk in my cupboard and it seems to be coconut and water. So,I can use that if my experiment fails

Hestia- I picked up Thai Taste and it had carrageen. I ended up buying organic unsweetened coconut flakes and I'm going to try to make my own. I've posted the recipe in the group. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/101329-whole-30-challenge-starting-january-2-2015 Here is the link to the group! Tomorrow is the big day! Can anyone figure out how to copy the text of the shopping list? I tried to buy coconut milk today and they all seem to have some sort of additive. Any suggestions on a clean…

I love these words!!! I am going to strive to be that person! It's so easy to feel embarrassed about our choice to eat well.

Happy New Year Guys! Hope you all had a fantastic time and have woken up with the resolve to eat clean. I'm going to clean up my act a bit today and then it's full speed ahead tomorrow! I'm going to follow the rule of no scales until after the 30 days. So, I'll weigh today at the gym and won't again until the 31st. I've…

Hi Blue Eyed Girl, I thought of starting a group but wondered if it might get less traffic. Maybe we can do both? I'll put one together tomorrow. Let's all plan to check in here until then.

I'm so excited that so many people are up for it! Khearon- I'm starting on the 2nd because I've been invited to NYE party by a friend who is a chef. I want to give it a real shot, so don't even want to risk eating non-clean things in the early a.m. of the 1st. Thanks for the recipes! It seems the October menu is Whole 30…

Hi Melody, Glad I have at least one person on the journey! I agree that planning will be instrumental. I'm quite excited. Did you say you already completed the first week? BTW- There are several free digital paleo books on Amazon right now. I've downloaded a few to get some recipe ideas. Happy to share.

I find that when you try to make healthy choices, people who are not doing the same, feel like you are criticizing them. It's the whole misery loves company scenario

!0 % body fat is a good loss. It's likely that you are building muscle-which is a good thing, especially in our age group when most women tend to lose muscle. Have you measured yourself?

Welcome to the fabulous forties! :-)

Sorry guys. I've been off the boards a while as my dad had been in the ICU for over two moths. He passed away a week ago and life is now on it's way back to normal. I do hope we can revive this group because I feel as mom's low carbing is a bit more tricky. Hope you all have been having much success in your journey. :-)

Nice week guys! Thyme4change great job saying no to mac and cheese while hungry! DC729 I so can relate to the crescent roll story. I actually chewed a chocolate chip cookie and stopped myself mid-chew and spat it out! LOL!!

Welcome Mckay, Welcome. Your list sounds great. Good luck on your journey. Would be great if you shared any useful tidbits that you find while researching

You look great! What kind of weight lifting regimen did you follow?

Have bee n really crap about my carbs this week:-( I stalled for most of the week, now I have regained a pound. I've been sneaking grapes. Yesterday I had a fruit yogurt which I guess was the final straw, now my stall is an all out gain. I have to accept that more than a minma lamount of carbs cannot be a part of my life.…

This is a great idea! I've been thinking of doing the same thing because the scale has not been friendly to me this week, despite my clothes telling me otherwise.

I was feeling a bit unmotivated about going to the gym. Then I had my BP coffee.....!!! I am now rearing to go!!! Where is everybody?
