  • I'm shocked at some of the comments about her body. Whether it's natural or the result of an eating disorder or an illness, there's nothing disgusting about her body. Her body is her body, and no one has any right to judge. Body shaming is the only thing disgusting. That said, it's really not that extreme. I had a 22.5…
  • Nope, it means you lost weight, you're just bloated and carrying around a little water/food weight, nothing that will last. :)
  • Haha, but being serious, it probably helps get rid of excess water weight, but I doubt it has any real effect on fat loss. But getting extra water isn't harmful as long as you don't force it, so go ahead. Maybe it'll help fill you up?
  • The secret is that you burn so many extra calories from running back and forth to the bathroom ten times an hour. ;)
  • No, absolutely not. As someone who has suffered from an eating disorder, take it from me: commenting on her appearance is the absolute worst thing you can do. If you aren't close, nothing good will come from it. If she does have an eating disorder, it will either serve to fuel it because you're essentially telling her…
  • I wouldn't focus on calories for him, he's far too young. Just focus on feeding him healthy and nutritious foods. Cook healthy meals, leave healthy snacks for him to eat, and teach him the importance of good food. See if maybe he wants to take up a sport perhaps? Or go on family walks together. Just focus on healthy…
  • Oh, and by the way, prental vitamins aren't what make your hair and nails grow, it's the hormones from pregnancy, thats a common misconception. :P
  • I have a friend who gets sick from prenatal vitamins because of the iron, and multivitamins also include iron. It might be zinc in your case, or iron as well, as it commonly causes nausea. You might be better off taking specific vitamins, like calcium and other ones you think you are deficient in. You can add them one at a…
  • Take sips of water in between bites, focus on chewing slowly and a certain amount of time before you swallow. Take smaller bites and try to savor and really taste the flavor of what you're eating.
  • Chocolate chip cookies. >.>

  • Possibly shin splits. They're very common and painful as heck. Rest, ice, and stretch! Best thing for any running injury.
  • Sounds like yoga is the way to go, thanks everyone. :)
  • Thank you, I'll look into that yoga pose. :) I've always been a bit confused on how I was supposed to stretch it out, hopefully this helps.
  • Anyone have an experience with this?
  • Go for it! If nothing else, run what you can and walk the rest, no shame in that. :) You still get to say you completed a half marathon afterall.
  • I still struggle with it, but I've found the best thing for me is to go running. The endorphins put me in a better mood, it curbs my appetite, and makes me more inclined to eat something healthy, because I just worked so hard! And if I do still eat too much, it at least lessens the damage. Find some sort of exercise that…
  • Beans, nuts, nut butters, protein powders (they have vegan ones), quinoa, soy products. It's a little more tricky, but it's doable. :) Vegetables also have protein in them, many breads and other grains do too. Just make sure your diet is balanced and you should be fine.
  • I'm just under 5'6", and I used to be around 125 pounds, and I believe my measurements were about 34-26-34 or so. I'm not completely sure about my hips there, they might've been 35" or 36", but I know the bust and waist measurements are accurate. :P Edit: No, my hips were 34" at 120, so I think at 125 I was 34-26-36, haha.
  • Perhaps it's the hormonal changes in your body? It might all level out and go back to normal soon. In the meantime, just eat more calorie dense foods. Spoonfuls of peanut butter! :) Nuts, adding oils to your foods, whole milk and cheese, all healthy ways to get more calories while eating less.
  • It's totally okay for some runs, but it'd be good to have a shorter run once or twice a week. And make sure you take one complete rest day from running! Speed work is good to incorporate into your weekly runs too. When I was running cross country, we would have one long day, about 8 miles, one day for intervals, one medium…
  • Buiimia is not once every 2-3 months. Bulimia is multiple times a day, week, month, year. The DSM requirement is that these binge-purge behaviors occur at least twice a week for a minimum of three months. Bulimia is being out of control, eating despite not being hungry, not wanting what you're eating, not tasting it,…
  • I'd just like the add as someone who has suffered from an eating disorder, that 800 calories a day is very similar to the intake of anorexics. People don't realize that, but we don't suffer from complete starvation (some do, but not all), and the average intake is probably around 500. And, the thing is, you can't trust…
  • I'm a size 0, and my thighs still rub together. It's really just the way your body is built. If you have wide hips it's possible to have thighs that don't touch, but if you have narrow hips, you can be the absolute lowest healthy weight, and still have thighs that touch. It doesn't mean you aren't skinny, don't worry about…
