  • Do we log our Day 2 results in this thread as well?
  • Day One: 14 18 14 14 20 (slight failure at 13, short pause and then gutted out 7 more) Used this for my warm-up to regular routine...and paid the price! haha
  • I started at 217 and I'm working toward the 185 - 190 range. I'm close, but it's coming a pound or two at a time. I hear it's the last 7 to 10 that are really stubborn!
  • 30!!! Hello week 3. :D
  • You look amazing! Keep up the great work!
  • I first heard of steel-cut oats in an article about Ryan Reynold's eating and training and how he got ripped for Blade: Trinity. He was eating them for breakfast every morning, so I thought I'd look into it. Since then, I have them once or twice a week. I use Bob's Red Mill Steel-Cut Oats (found in the healthy/organic…
  • I'm not sure if it provides all the options you mentioned, but I would definitely check out www.skinnytaste.com. It's a great site with some awesome recipes that include photos, and nutrition info. My girlfriend and I are starting to build our grocery list around it.
  • I live in Ohio and run year-round, whether it's raining or snowing. I wear Under Armour compression pants and long sleeve shirt. They also make socks designed to trap heat. I usually wear Nike basketball shorts over top with a t-shirt or hoodie. You can get it all at ****'s Sporting Goods. Plus, the Adidas Kanadias are…
  • Like many above have pointed out, these constestants live on that ranch for six months with nothing on the agenda, but eat, train, sleep, ect... As for the dramatic weight loss you see them achieve, it's not unhealthy for someone to lose amounts like that if they are morbidly obese. You'll notice contestants weighing 350…
  • I had what I call the "healthy Elvis" sandwich. I smear a tablespoon of peanut butter onto a whole wheat low fat eggo waffle and fold it over a medium-sized banana (sliced). It's quick, filling and very delicious.
  • Yeah...that was my favorite of the group.
  • We Practice Safe Sets Shirts 'n Spikes Diggin' It My Ace Or Yours?
  • I used P90X and a marathon program, along with some MMA style training to prepare for Tough Mudder this past November. Just remember to rest your body when you need it. Over-training can hurt you. I would suggest starting off with the "Doubles" version of P90X. It's basically "Classic" with extra cardio workouts. You can…
  • I will take measurements, including body fat. Then I reassess my goal and prepare for the next challenge with the same discipline and determination I have now. Whether it be a new plan of attack, or simply to maintain, I welcome it because I've never felt better in my life!
  • The amazing thing is, week after week, I found myself less interested in taking the cheat meal. All week long I would consider what I would have and then come Saturday, I would be highly indecisive. And because our taste buds can change, I found that the greasy, fried, high sugar foods I loved were losing their great taste…
  • I reward myself with a cheat meal every Saturday, so long as I've met my goal for the week. There's nothing wrong with it and it helps cravings stay in check. The main thing is discipline. In the past, I would reward myself with "cheat day" and now I see it's not right to do it all day, so I have the cheat meal. Again,…
  • One-derland is a term people use, meaning you've fallen under 200lbs. So once the scale reads 199...you've entered one-derland. As in, your number now begins with a one.
  • Hey! My girlfriend and I are also doing this together and it sounds like we have similar goals. I eat about six times a day and make sure I get plenty of protein at each meal, which keeps you full longer. I also drink about 24oz of water before and after each meal. That fills my stomach up and stops me from over-eating.…
  • The type of clothing you're wearing during excercise is a factor. I would recommed the dry wick garments made by Nike, Under Armor, Adidas, ect... And, I don't know if you "manscape", but that could be a source of the itching as well, depending on your razor or choice of shaving product.
  • It's best to have a small meal/snack about an hour before you excercise, so you have some energy in the tank to burn off. Then eat within 30 minutes of finishing your workout. You'll need the protein and carbs.
  • Brandon, I do it all without a gym. I'll write something up for you and call ya on Thursday.
  • My girlfriend signs up for those everytime her gym offers the class. It's usually a full body workout that torches fat. She burns upwards of 800 calories when she does it. According to her, it's an awesome workout.
  • I would strongly suggest switching to unsweetened almond milk. It's only 35 calories per serving. Your boyfriend should definitely stop drinking soy milk either way. By the way, the only brand I've seen that does unsweetened is Silk. I know Kroger's generic brand is regular almond milk, but that bumps it up to 90 calories.…
  • Congrads, man. Keep up the good work and stay focused!
  • Welcome! I've been here three weeks now and it's made my eating so much easier. P90X is a GREAT program. I did it and dropped plenty of weight and worked my way up to doing 55 push-ups...when I started at 15! No matter how hard it gets, just push through...just show up as you've probably heard Tony say on the DVD's. Hope…
  • Based on their description, I'd say the hipsters throw a beatdown to the poor *kitten* in the Freddy costume. However... If they were standing there confused, with normal haircuts and properly fitting jeans, I'd say Freddy, 'cause they'd be experiencing a true nightmare and that wouldn't be a guy in a costume! Ha ha
  • Unless I'm mistaken, total calories - calories burned w/ excercise = net calories. Net calories are the amount of calories you need to sustain yourself throughout the day for energy. For example, my girlfriend is given 1200 net calories each day. Yesterday, she burned 1118 doing an 80 minute high intensity class at the…
  • Both me and my girlfriend use those as a snack option in between meals occassionally. As you wrote, they are low in sugar, taste very good and pack a good amount of protein at 18 to 20 grams each. Plus, Kroger usually has them on sale for a dollar. We buy them for those reasons, not necessarily because they're crucial to…
  • Absolutely true. Dude, focus on maintaining 7% and stop trying to cut below it. You're already in the range a professional or olympic athlete might be in.
