  • Thank you for posting that link Crystal. It makes a lot more sense to track carbohydrates. I have friend who is a Type I diabetic and besides staying away from the obvious sugary stuff she closely watches her carbs. - I guess I just never really thought about it before. Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it!
  • I'm right there with you! I started last year as well and lost about 20 #'s and now its all back :o( Hopefully this will be the year for both of us ;o) Best wishes for you!
  • I'm not on Adkins but how did you manage to get yourself off sugar? I'm having a heck of a time with that...
  • Congratulations to everyone working so hard to meet their goals! You guys are doing so great! Okay, so this week may fall in the category of no news is good news...or something like that. No loss or gain to report - have to include the positive ;o) The truly good news is that I visited the doctor on Friday due to my…
  • I've just been going to caloriesperhour.com and using the activity calculator. I'm not sure how accurate it is but it seems to be working for me.
  • Hey everybody! Sorry I haven't been around in awhile. I just can't seem to shake this sickness! I haven't lost any further...again :ohwell: I've been in the comfort food rut and snuggling in a blanket :blushing: But I have still been working out - no excuses! I have even been doing and extra 5 minutes of exercise and…
  • Congrats Karla - it has been an amazing week for you! Keep up the good work :drinker: - Crystal
  •   And a side note, don't try the new Fiber Plus bars either. Whoa....I think I almost killed my husband after eating one of those things! LOL
  • Never thought about posting my weekly weight right on the wall calendar but I think I will start doing it now - what a good idea! I need motivation that is in my face
  • I am the same this week - no loss.
  • You are doing awesome! I think we started around the same weight and you have by far out done me! What is your secret? My weakness is failing to keep up my motivation and well, you know how it goes from there...I'm working on it though! Have a terrific day :flowerforyou:
  • I was browsing over Fitness magazine and found this. It was helpful for me so I thought I would share  Critical Reading by Danielle Solari Just 21 percent of people regularly check food labels before making a purchase, according to research. " Most look only at the calories and total fat grams, but that doesn't tell…
  • Sorry I missed yesterday...working overnight is killing me. And my memory. So anyway, no loss to report this week. Conratulations to everyone with their losses! It looks like everyone is doing so well :drinker: And Phoenix thanks for the quote, "Its not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up." This is my day…
  • You lost a shoe size? I was thinking that it was a pregnancy thing but yeah, 60 extra pounds (which is what I have gained :grumble: ) might just be the culprit. Makes perfect sense...Maybe I'll be a size 8 again, shoe and pants
  • Coupons and the weekly ads even if it means going to more than one store. Planning out your meals in advance and taking inventory of what you already have on hand & being creative with that. Times are getting so tight I've been forced to be meticulous w/ this & I hate it but it works :grumble:
  • Why did this article make me teary?! Maybe because Edy's ice cream and I went head-to-head this morning and I lost :embarassed: And my husband asks me what is wrong with me for eating 8 servings and then wondering why I have weight problems... Thanks for bumping this. I think I needed it today  Damn binges.…
  • I have been looking for information like this! Thanks
  • Congratulations on your recent success!!! I have quite a few pairs in my dresser that I won't wear-I'm afraid I'll be like one of those people from the Subway commercials... You know, the one where the people's buttons are flying off and breaking stuff, ricochetting off of street signs, etc. I don't want to maim anyone…
  • We don't have a Trader Joe's here in VA Beach but that reminds me that we do have The Heritage which is a local holistic health, natural foods store that I've heard a lot of people raving about that I want to go check out. AND its only a block from the oceanfront so what a perfect excuse for a drive (even though its…
  • I actually have 2 days off in a row! Yesturday & today so I have been trying to get my house in order. Right now I am knee deep in clothes that I have had boxed up & trying to figure out what might fit now & what I'll be able to wear again real soon - so excited! I know what you mean about the weekend. For me it is just…
  • Congratulations! I am so happy for you  I can't wait until I'm right there with ya!
  • Thank you TamTastic - I really appreciate your advice  My weight problem began when I "allow[ed] that one meal to become the norm". I will definately start experimenting more with other cuisines, ect. One thing that I have learned is that I need to think more, or be more aware of what I am putting into my body…
  • Congrats! I know that must feel awesome :drinker:
  • For starters, if I buy myself some of that extra dark chocolate and keep it in the freezer I can usually keep the chocolate monster at bay because it is so rich it makes me feel sick if I eat too much and by keeping it frozen I suck on it rather that gobble it all down. Another thing is that I have been refusing to buy bad…
  • Thank you  I believe that you are right in that this is more of a lifestyle change not just a temporary fix. I think sometimes it takes a while to get to the point where one can realize this - me, I'm about to be 30 and I am just getting it. I have days where I fall off and eat a bunch of not so good for me food but…
  • I don't usually drop the pounds fast - its the inches that seem to go faster for me so I tend to like to do measurements better. I measured myself probably about a week ago or more and had lost 1 1/2 inches off my waist - YAY! And today I tried on some pants that I couldn't button before and now I can button them…
  • You've lost 15 lbs. in 3.5 weeks?! That is awesome! Good on ya :o) I'll think that your fantastic progress will be a new motivation for me  I've been at this for 3 weeks or so and have only lost about 6 lbs. I've been giving into my weanesses :o( (i.e. frosted donuts and coke...:grumble: ) My kids have motivated me…
  • Yes, I work in a psychiatric hospital and exercise is one of the tools that we use and recommend for depressed patients.
  • I have 2 new or "knew" as in "who knew I'd fit into these again" pairs of pants to add to my wardrobe! I'm so excited - its been years since my size has gone down instead of up! :drinker:
  • Don't feel guilty. Eating 2 frosted donuts and drinking 2 cans of regular coke is guilty :blushing: I had to do a Tae Bo Advanced workout today to make me at least think that I might have made up for that...
