  • You should increase your water intake if you're exercising, based on the amount you sweat, etc.

  • Thank you BabyLilac! :)
  • If you only have 12 pounds to lose, it may not be very easy to lose it in 5 weeks. Even with all the training you'll be doing. Like you said, you need the energy for the training runs. I'd say focus on the training, eating healthy, and as the weight comes off, it comes off. Don't rush it. Fueling your body is important.
  • There really is no magic pill. Think about it - if there was, Oprah wouldn't have a weight problem. She'd have that pill already. Do the work and you'll see the results.
  • I'd say don't force yourself to do something you don't really like. I had a goal in mind when doing the C25K... I was training for a half-marathon. I had started and not finished the C25K program many times before I decided to run the half-marathon.
  • The podcasts are great... And I prefer outdoor running to treadmill running, so before I knew about the podcasts, it was just too difficult to try to do the program. But having him in my ear telling me when to walk and when to run was perfect!
  • I just ran a half-marathon in May... The beginning of my training, I used the C25K program and loved it. Then for the rest of my training, I used the Hal Higdon Novice Half-Marathon training program. I used to hate running... now I love it!
  • Thank you!!!! :flowerforyou:
  • Trying one more time:
  • I trained for my half-marathon with my iPod. I ran the race without it though. There are people around to talk to, and it's an experience I would've missed out on, had I had music pumping in my ears.
  • Thanks... I'm not quite sure I'm linking to it properly, but it seems as if you were able to see it. Thanks again! :)
  • Maybe this will work. I had technical difficulties. lol
  • I know you aren't looking for a solution, but I'll offer one. Check out thrift stores in your area. You can get good clothes for cheap prices. I suggest buying some transition pieces. Wearing clothes that are too big for you often leaves you looking unprofessional, sloppy, and bigger than you actually are. That being said…
  • If you're a runner and you have a new iPod Nano or a second generation iTouch, look into the NikePlus system. It tracks your mileage. I used it in training for my half-marathon and loved it. It was very helpful!
