  • First, getting some moderate exercise and building from there. Working out released the endorphines, which improve stress, our moods and even our pain receptors. The work outs will give you more energy and help you to feel good about yourself and what you are accomplishing. It is important to start slow and build yourself…

  • I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis and that the copaxone was not working for you. Hopefully very soon there will be a therapy available via a pill. It is currently in the trial stages and sounds like it is getting close.
  • Thank you both for your kind and supporting words.
  • As some of you know, I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and am very committed to being as strong and healthy for as long as I can. I was diagnosed in 2001, I was so afraid that my life as I knew it was over. During my first steroid treatment I met a Susie, she is one of the most amazing persons I have ever met. She encouraged…
  • My good news is that last summer and fall with the help of my family and friends, we raised over $12,500 for the NMSS, and my husband & I leave this Thursday for the MS Tour of Champions in Florida. While there I will get to meet and thank other top fundraisers from around the US. We will take in a few of the sights and…
  • If you are new to running. I would start at 5.5 mph on the treadmill and see how that feels and increase .1 mph intervals as you feel ready. A lot of runners will start with a run walk approach until they get comfortable. We are currently in our 5th week of training for the half marathon. Most of our runners are now doing…
  • Thanks for the humorous post:laugh:
  • Welcome and good luck to you...:flowerforyou:

  • I currently work out 6 days a week with some being double (10 to 11 hours a week). I am running 3 days a week, biking 3 days a week and strength and toning 3 days a week. With at least one day a week off. That is important for recovery. This is a little aggressive as I am training for a half marathon and 4 MS Bike Tours.…
  • Your sister and all of you are in my prayers. Will watch for positive updates. She will be in good hands.
  • Thanks for sharing!!! Although health, rather than weight almost made me give up. I too found I could run, little by little I put one foot in front of the other and kept getting stronger. That was in 2004 and it has completely changed and enriched my life. I had tears reading your story. YOU should be so proud of yourself…
  • Wow, that is so great for you. Hang it up as a reminder of what you can do.
  • Great job!!!
  • I ran 7 miles this morning, it was a great day:tongue:
  • Great Job!!! It is nice to see that your hard work paid off and what an inspiration you are to others.
  • The miracle will not be that you get to your goal, but rather that you had the courage to start!!! You are right, it does not matter what others think, you just need to worry about you and taking care of you. I wish you the best of luck, you can do this!!! Sheri
  • Yes, I have run 2 full marathons and 7 half marathons. I ran Chicago in October of 2007. I currently am a trainer/mentor for the Fargo Marathon Training Group and am working with beginner runners preparing for the half this May. I would be glad to answer questions or offer some assistance to you. Thanks - Sheri
  • Now We have now!!! Half Full or Half Empty
  • Jess, if you are running that much. You easily could do the half!!!
  • Great advice on the sodium intake. I certainly had my share of that over the weekend. I use Thursday as my weigh in days. It is easier for me to stay on task during the week, but the weekends go a little crazy, especially since my hardest work out is on Saturday, as I do my long run for the week with my training group and…
