  • Oh my goodness, I am so glad I found this! I have been doing JM's 30DS, and I could not figure out why my belly is pooching out more now than it did before I started working out. I need to look more into this issue & exercises.
  • When that happened to me, my gallbladder was acting up. I got it removed, and have been fine ever since. I would say give it a few days to see if it settles down, but if not then a trip to the Dr is probably in order just to rule out anything like ulcers or gallbladder.
  • I just ate Applebee's for lunch today (weekly lunch date with grandpa!). I got 1/2 sandwich and soup - for 850 cals & 3,000mg sodium!!! HOLY COW! I never really paid much attention before now, but WOW! I am betting you can find something low-cal at just about any restaurant, if you know what to ask for. Unbreaded, grilled…
  • Thanks for all the suggestions! I will look for some fenugreek if it gets worse. Right now I have 900 oz or so in the freezer, so I am not too worried about a dip just yet. I am still pumping out more than she eats while at daycare, so as long as I stay ahead of her or keep pace then we are good.
  • What if you took your mom with you on a nice walk/jog? Great way to spend some time together! Then you are both benefiting from the exercise, and as a bonus you are not sitting around the table snacking while you chat.
  • Aldi now sells the fruit-on-bottom kind (as well as the plain) for only $.89 per container (vs $1+ for the other brands). This is my breakfast most mornings. Greek yogurt + a whole apple or banana. I found if I add the whole piece of fruit, I stay full until lunch and cut out my morning snack. And its only 200-250 calories…
  • My 4 month old DD cracks up when I start doing jumping jacks. I told her she's supposed to encourage mommy, not make fun of her :) But it does make the workout go a lot faster. She gets super excited when I get down on the floor next to her to do ab exercises too!
  • As a cheaper alternative to this or those "right size smoothie" type products, I have always heard you can eat an apple and drink a full 8oz of water about 20 minutes before a meal. The fiber helps fill you up. Then when it comes time to eat your meal you are satisfied with smaller portions. And it is much healthier for…
  • I just went to Aldi and got food for DH and I for about 10 days for $90. And I would say half of my cart was fresh produce, dairy, and meat. I did get some canned foods that were cheaper than the fresh (what's out of season right now), but I try to get the low-sodium ones when I do that. I can feed both of us for about…
  • While it may not burn a lot of calories upfront, it is helping to build muscle mass, which ups the amount of calories you burn around the clock.
  • I just wanted to say Congrats!! You lost the equivalent of a whole person! AMAZING JOB :)
  • I have had to do several "cleanses" before having medical procedures done. There is no way in heck I would voluntarily do that just for kicks. I think your going to find that the general consensus here is to not do it. Its just not very healthy for you.
  • I started a gluten-free diet last year after the Dr couldn't find anything "wrong" with me. Instead of replacing gluten foods, I just eliminated them for the most part because the alternatives were too expensive. Walmart does sell some GF pasta that's $3 or so per box. Otherwise stick with fruits, veggies, rice, potatoes,…
  • I have heard before that sweet cravings are a sign you need more water (especially if you drink a lot of sweet drinks). So down a glass of water first and wait a few minutes to see if that solves the problem. Another thing is snacking out of habit/boredom. I have noticed I don't snack as much when I pick up my crochet or…
  • Awesome achievement!! I hope you had a fun trip too :)
  • I started doing 30DS, and I get sore after too. I try to take some Advil, stretch, and take a warm shower. That really helps a lot. Its just your muscles strengthening. I have noticed that if I push through and keep working out even when I am a bit sore that it goes away faster and I feel like I have more endurance quicker…
  • I would get like that when I was pregnant. The Dr told me to get in some more protein. I started eating greek yogurt and it helped out a lot. Maybe have some nuts or other source of low-sugar protein and see if that helps?
  • That was great :) Thanks for sharing!
