My husband and I have a protein shake around 10:30/11:00. I am lactose/dairy intolerant so we use: Whole Foods soy protein powder (chocolate or vanilla) one whole banana Almond Breeze almond milk ice cubes It tastes like a chocolate shake and I don't get hungry again for awhile. It's easy to take with you if you're running…

My HRM also has different numbers than MFP or the gym equipment. My HRM is always higher so i usually split the difference but I'd love to know what the deal is!

I ate really well for the beginning part of Christmas break and had some treats but with a lot of moderation. Unfortunately my daughter got some Lindt truffles and other yummy chocolate things and I have been "picking" at them. I feel like I'm getting back into my mode of "fooling myself" into thinking that one chocolate…

-
1/1/12 Day 1: 50 minute hike Do you need any other info?
-
I hope this works since I am really resistant to working out but know I HAVE to do it.
-
You all look so fantastic and healthy!! I am getting the calorie part of this and have the eating under control but I'm wondering what you all did for exercise. Were you all active/athletic before starting and what did you do to stay motivated?

My husband and I do scoop of protein powder (Whole Foods-chocolate), almond milk, some peanut butter, a banana and ice cubes in blender. Yummy, like a chocolate milk shake!
-
SAME!! I want to be healthy and participate in life instead of being a spectator. Looking good and not stressing about what to wear would be nice too!
-
Thanks Donna! Is there a new spreadsheet? The one I have only goes to Dec 5th and then has space for measurements but not weight.
-
Just went to Derby Street to the "hidden pond". It's a nice, quiet place to walk... pet friendly too.
-
Love this!! I have lost the same as an average newborn or 28 sticks of butter! That's a great visual!!

I actually found MFP because I was looking for a way to track my calories for the nutritionist that I'm seeing. BTW... MFP gives way more support and info than any professional I've seen and I think is the reason that I'm finally losing weight!
-
I've been doing the same...weigh everyday (sometimes more than once). It doesn't necessarily discourage me but rather makes me look at my food and water and exercise to see where I may need to change things. It helps me get to know my body better.

What is carb cycling? How much of your diet should be carbs? Mine seems to be at 50% or above.
-
Need opinion: On the MFP phone app there is a chart that breaks down your food log by Carbs, Fats and Protein (online might do this also but I haven't found it). Anyway, I noticed that my carbs are always at least 50% ( or more) of my diet and fats around 30% and protein around 20%. Does anyone know what the percentages…

mamapaints: have you taken measurements? I am losing VERY slowly (less than a pound/week) but my measurements have gone down quite a bit. I can comfortably button pants that I haven't been able to wear since last May!!
-
Thanks Donna... I always love the quotes that you post, they keep me motivated!
-
Thanks Donna!! The boards have been very quiet but I guess it's that time of the year. I actually lost a half a pound last week! The fact that we had two Thanksgiving dinners and leftovers one night makes me happy that I lost anything! I have reached a point where I feel like approaching this as a "lifestyle" change rather…

I struggle with the same thing. I find every excuse to NOT exercise. I feel so great after I do but can't seem to get the motivation to start! :frown:
-
HAHAHA! (or is it LOL). You can put the MAN back in manicure!

Please go see your doctor. I did have stuff like that happen when I was in my 20s (still does today) especially if I was riding a bike. It turns out that I have mitral valve prolapse.... totally not big deal. My regular doc didn't pick it up but cardiologist heard it. Again... it is very minor but I know what it is and…
-
I totally stink at keeping up with any cardio or exercise right now:frown: I am making really good choices about food... really wanted cheeseburger yesterday at restaurant that I like so ate light lunch, had cheeseburger on whole wheat bun and substituted stir fry veggies for fries. I was still a little over calories but…
