  • I gain anywhere from 2-3lbs before my period and ovulation. It comes off plus more within a couple days. Hate retaining water, so discouraging!
  • This sounds really gross. I don't think I could get through a day yet alone 3. Reminds me of the cabbage soup diet-yuck! For me personally, I prefer variety, and choosing my own foods. Doing this 3 days would send me into binge mode big time on day 4. Not because of the calorie content, but because the food seems so bland…
  • Glad to hear your stepmother is okay :) Just get back on track. Log everything you ate yesterday, and start over today. One day will not do long term damage. If I have a day where I don't log or over do it, I just tell myself "today is a new day" and stick with it.
  • My last vacation was 8 days, and I managed to gain 5lbs, it was mainly water weight and disappeared in about a week and a half. As long as you don't over do it, and remain active you will be fine. Just enjoy yourself and have fun!
  • First-get rid of the hydroxy cut you don't need it. Start counting your calories and use mfp everyday. Record everything you eat even condiments, and make sure you are actually measuring your food, not just guessing. I would also recommend investing in a good kitchen scale so your able to record everything you eat…
  • You don't have to go to the gym or even leave your house to fit in exercise. There are so many good dvd's on market you can do in the comfort of your own home, or check out YouTube for free workouts like 30 day shred. Most of the dvd's are 1/2hr Max, so there really is no excuse not being able to do them. Also, eating less…
  • Just throwing this out there-but did you have a baby recently? I lost a ton of hair starting at about 3months post partum with every pregnancy. It starting growing back around 9 mos post partum. Also, make sure your taking in enough iron? Low iron can cause excess hair shedding too.
  • I'm on my TOM currently, my weight hasn't changed in a few days (maintaining despite eating in a deficit) which for me is a good sign that I will lose 1-2lbs when TOM is over. I can gain 2-3lbs easily. Hang in there, drink lots of water, the extra weight should disappear the week after.
  • Using MFP and Fitbit together. And logging everything accurately. Simple calories in vs calories out.
  • I love my Fitbit charge! I love that it syncs to mfp and makes the calories in vs calories out equation very easy. I lose 1-2lbs consistently each week.

  • I'm doing the "lifestyle change for life" plan. It involves using MFP, logging accurately and daily, and also wearing a Fitbit. I've had great results and its so so easy. Also, what happens after 3 weeks?
  • I have my account set to lightly active and Fitbit still gives me an extra 300-500 calories a day to eat. I eat most if not all my extra Fitbit calories back and consistently lose 1-2lbs per week.
  • Eat whatever you want, as long as it fits in your calorie deficit. Want to eat more than your calorie goal allows? Exercise! In the end, you have to choose what is more important, eating excessively/gaining weight? Or making a healthy lifestyle change while enjoying the foods you still love.
  • You can try and burn some calories, or you can eat at maintenance level today and start over again tomorrow. One day won't ruin progress.
  • I didn't track or limit any food options on my vacation. I just had a good time and figured I'll get back on track when I'm home. I gained 2.8lbs, but within a week I was back to pre-vacation weight without much effort. It was likely water weight/food weight, and I would say I "maintained" during vacation. Just enjoy your…

  • I have a Fitbit charge and I love it! I find it accurate at calorie burns and I've been consistently losing 1-2lbs per week. I heard the Fitbit charge HR wasn't as accurate which is why I decided to just go with the charge.
  • Yup, and I usually gain 2-3lbs, but that falls off (plus usually another lb) when my tom is finished. I also gain 2-3 lbs during ovulation. I just ignore it as it's almost always just water retention and not actual weight gain.
  • This.
  • This seems to have solved the problem for me as well :)
  • Okay-figured it out, my settings were at "don't track steps" and now the adjustment seems correct. Hopefully this fixes the problem!
  • How do you adjust this? And OP-I've been doing this too, as MFP calculation is waaaayyy off for me.
  • Great job! This post would be better suited in the "success stories" section, either way-WTG on your loss!
  • Went to bed again with lots of exercise calories and ate accordingly, with calories to spare Woke up to red again, "over eating" by close to 300 calories. Yesterday has a difference of over 500 calories between Fitbit and MFP. Soooooooo annoying!
  • I have a Fitbit charge, and just purchased it last week. It seems to be very accurate on its own, but when connecting to MFP it gives false adjustment calories (usually way too low), does a double/triple entry or gives calories then takes them away within a couple minutes. At the end of each day, fitbits tdee (which would…
  • I'm a mom of 4 too. Ages-5, 3 and 21 months (twins). Feel free to add me :)
