Thank you so much for the info! I have really bad skin problems in all my "crevices." It's really good to know that I may be able to get some relief from that.

It definitely took some getting used to realize that a sip of water does not help. When something feels stuck, its just natural instinct to try and wash it down. I'm 11 months out and still have moments where I've taken one bite too many or have eaten the wrong thing for my pouch that day and up everything comes.…

I was very hungry early on after VSG and my surgeon that was a good thing. She said I would see better results because I would actually be getting enough nutrtion. I still eat something small every 2-3 hours. My soft food go to's were scrambled eggs, refried beans, and a ricotta bake recipe I got off of bariatric foodie.…

I had VSG 10 months ago and have had a drink here and there. It does have a much quicker effect but I also sober quickly after. Because I had vsg and not bypass, I don't have issues with dumping anyway. The thing I have to be the most cautious about is that alcohol is dehydrating and so substituting a hydrating beverage…

I say tell the truth. Besides, when you actually reach your goal weight, you're going to want a new license anyway!

"I'm gonna smash you, penis!" OMG, I almost peed! LOL

I'm 7 months out and sushi is still not an option for me. I tried some last night and the rice from only one piece was upsetting my stomach. I do have sashimi sometimes though and that usually takes care of the craving.

I had a sleeve gastrectomy in December 2012. I had a lot of complications, initially, but at this point am very happy with my decision. I would suggest you look for feedback within the WLS groups rather than the open forum. Some have the idea that surgery is an "easy" way out which is in no way true. I tried, really,…

frozen precooked shrimp is my quick go-to option, I can take a five or so, run them under cold water for a couple minutes and then eat. Pretty much any seafood is easiest to eat. Chicken is the most difficult for me. Luck!

Especially when you are sick, you have to take care of your body. I think it is okay to feel hungry and to eat but its up to you to make good choices. Try to make sure you have lots of good stuff to choose from on hand. I know when my pantry starts to get low, that's when I tend to take the easy way out and fast food or…

I had always been relatively healthy, other than being obese, so I thought I wouldn't have the common complications from surgery. However, 3 weeks out from surgery, I was back in the hospital having my gall bladder removed and it knocked me on my *kitten*. So you are definitely not alone, I think we all hope/expect we will…

The reality is, you are probably not going to hit 1200 calories again for quite a while.

I say, do what works for you, that is the biggest key to success! Good luck on the pre-op diet and on your surgery.

Can a person really control what they are attracted to? Personally, even though I am overweight, I am absolutely not attracted to heavier men. I've tried to date a few cause they were nice guys but the attraction is just not there. Does that mean I try to date out of my league? No, I don't think so. I think I deserve to be…

I'm supposed to follow up with the gastroenterologist in a couple weeks. I'm not really sure where I'm at with the surgeon. She wanted to follow up again after I saw the gastroenterologist...

UPDATE So I had an endoscopy today, they found a slight stricture so he stretched out my pouch a bit. There was also some irritation that they biopsied. It's not really helped so far. It would be one thing if I only vomited after I ate, then I could test out if it was a specific food or if I was eating too much(although I…

Started vomiting again yesterday. Went to surgeon today and she did more labs and is sending me to gastroenterologist to possibly be scoped.

So they removed my gallbladder this afternoon. Another surgery so soon is not fun at all! My surgeon says this happens with about 30% of bariatric patients. The quick weight loss throws the gall bladder out of wack, and nearly 30 pounds in 3 weeks was super fast. If all goes well, i should be able to go home tomorrow.…

So I'm being admitted overnight to rehydrate and to check out my gallbladder. I'll keep you updated.

I have an appointment this afternoon, I will keep you all posted. I have been taking my acid reflux meds as indicated and my surgeon did let me know that she repaired a hiatal hernia while she was in there.

To change your daily calorie goal, under the My Home tab, click on goals, then click change goals. Then choose custom. That will let you input the number of calories you want your goal set at and also customize your protein/ carb/ fat goals. As far as how many calories you should be taking in, that can vary by surgical…

Are you taking progress pictures? There may be changes that you don't notice day to day in the mirror but would notice if you looked at pictures side by side.

Since everybody loses at a different pace it seems like it would be impossible to predict where you might be in eight months. Is it absolutely necessary to order your dress this far in advance? Extra alterations later can end up being costly.

Compared to crystal light, how sweet is it?

Your story is so touching and your progress is amazing! I had VSG a week ago and its hard right now. Reading your story really has inspired me.

For me too! For the one with problem with yogurt, try getting plain and flavoring yourself.

They did, and I used it in the hospital, though never got to the mark they wanted me to get to. I wish I had brought it home. I make sure I get up an walk around at least once an hour.

It was done laparascopically.

Its supposed to provide abdominal support, help with pain, and with breathing. Having difficulty breathing is the most surprising post-op problem I've been having as I never had any issues with asthma or anything like that before. I can't lay flat to sleep and I constantly feel tightness in my chest. :(
