As long as you're making a note to not eat sugars that are high GI and will give you a spiking blood sugar... don't worry to much :)

This is a great article... it made so much sense to me http://ext-app-mfp.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/208407-how-to-repair-a-damaged-metabolism-stavation-mode good luck to you too!

have you considered the couch to 5K program? http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml it literally is for couch potatoes to get them running! i know it doesn't sound appealing, but it's very liberating to be able to just put on some shoes and go rather than having to drive to a gym or waiting for someone to finish…

Your body is not used to it! It has to go through certain processes to digest and process all that grease... your body was rebelling against having to do that again :) Well done, think of it as a NSV!! Also, I made a pizza base out of zucchini a few weeks ago. You grate 1 zucchini (maybe paper towel dry it to reduce…

It was insensitive and she should never have mentioned your husband putting back on 40 pounds. I think that she may have been getting defensive though.... she probably took what your husband was saying the wrong way. Perhaps she wasn't listening so well and only heard 'portion control doesn't work' and took it personally.…

Would it be possible to get someone to take them in as much as they can for you?

I'm about to start week 4 tomorrow... so far (after some initial aches in my shins from not being used in AGES) I haven't had any problems with it... but we'll see how we go this week :) I think the best thing about running is that you don't have to psych yourself up to do it... you just put on your shoes and walk (or run)…

I'm no expert on the matter, but I have read that when you're obese it's a different story altogether with calorie intake... your body is much more willing to use up your fat stores rather than go straight to using your lean muscle mass as an energy source. When obese you can afford to have a lower calorie intake.

Your tips are very useful and I completely agree with them! I hadn't thought about the special water bottles... will be good when it REALLY heats up here in australia (i'll be out running at 24 degree (75.2 fahrenheit) weather at 6am for a couple of weeks in February more than likely!) Thanks for the encouraging words…

absolutely phenomenal... and very inspiring! i'm up to wk3 day2 tomorrow... please tell me at that point you thought you weren't going to be able to do the 20 minute run either! :)

^^ This!

You have done an amazing job.... I love that you're going to be keeping this up as a 'lifetime routine' :) you should be very proud of yourself!

You calorie goal is still calculated at a deficit to what your BMR is... so if you're eating the goal calories that MFP has planned out for you then you should lose weight. Don't go over or under by too much.
-
Have you thought of doing pump class? They do the exercises mentioned and they're free weighted. You go at your own pace and build up.
-
I guess what I'm hoping is that I don't have to do anything other than C25K and eating properly to see an improvement. I see so many people doing crazy work outs... I'm wondering if I'm going to see results without doing that.
-
You are doing so well, you can so tell the difference!! Keep going :)
-
hi christine! please let me know how you go with the hormone tests, i find this really interesting! :)
-
Oh wow, how did you do this? You look amazing!
-
Thanks so much for having a look... i'll look into them. Where abouts do you work?
-
This is what I'm hoping for... I feel like my body has been out of whack since trying 4 different types of bcp last year (none of them agreed with me). I'm wondering if exercise is going to help get my hormones balanced again.
-
If you could and let me know, that would be great. I might do a search in the journals at work too.
-
it's definitely worth double checking what you've entered into MFP as your weight, height and activity level. It seems really odd.
-
you have a nice back of your head.
-
with me it depends how much weight i lose. put it this way. i've always been the girl with the big boobs. when i got past my goal weight i was no longer that.
-
Besides regular cardio and strengthening exercise and having a good water intake is there anything else you recommend?

If people are going to not count black tea (english, earl grey etc) as water then green tea shouldn't be counted either. it has just as much caffeine as black teas. I'm with the person that said they count water as water personally.
