I've never even run a half before, so I'm just going off of the research I did before signing up: 3-4 runs a week: 1 long run, 1 medium run, 1 fast run (I usually do quarter and/or half mile sprints and hill work on the fast days). My first marathon is in Feb. I'm a former college athlete (swimmer), so while my ultimate goal is to be able to jog the whole thing, who wants to be slow?? Speed would be good. PLUS, I do know that some speed training is important for even distance athletes, so you can't go wrong!

Thank you for the responses, 24 really is a tough number to stay under. OR I'm addicted to sugar...which I have no problem admitting to. I guess tackling that sugar craving will be my biggest obstacle!
