This. I am the cook in our family. They eat whatever I cook or they can go hungry. However, for example, if I make a curry, I might have cauli rice instead of regular. With a roast it might be more veggies than potatoes, or just a smaller portion of something high calorie. What are their dietary restrictions and maybe we…

Why are you trying to give up salt? Is it because of the types of product it comes on, like crisps? Because salt in itself will not cause weight gain. What it may do if you eat a lot of it is cause weight retention, but that isn't actual "weight" as such as it is just temporary. I also prefer salt over sweet and I tried to…

How did you check your pressure? If it was a proper BP cuff then you should pop to see the doctor.

She got married two years ago....

1. Whilst some people may have disorders such as a slower metabolism that may make it harder for them to lose weight eating the same calories as someone with the same stats as someone with a fast metabolism does NOT mean they won't lose weight. They may just lose it slower. An appropriate deficit for that person will…

You resurrected a NINE year old thread just to say you've never been to the place in question!!! Brilliant, just made my day!! Actually, you've got so many posts I did a search on your name wondering if you have a competition on to resurrect something old and random. Have you been in a coma and just catching up again on…

@kiddiecarbeds , You might want want to start your own thread, this one is two and a half years old!! Wonder if the OP lost any weight and hope she had an amazing wedding anyway. @jquinn165 are you still out there?

I'm from the UK, (still in Europe at the moment), never heard of grits with cocoa. How do you make it, or can you describe what it is?

This is exactly what I was about to post. Your thread from the other day ended up getting deleted but you are in the normal weight range for your height and you are taking prescription meds that your doctor gave you when you were overweight. But you waited and only started taking them when you were in a normal range. They…

Don't be so mean to yourself!! How cross would you be with a friend and what would you say to her if she did the same thing you are doing? Comparing your shape to someone else's is silly. We are all genetically different. I have a friend who is basically the same weight as me, within an inch or so of my height but we look…

Just going from my own experience - make sure you are correctly fitted for your running shoes. I used to get awful shin splints when I first started running (trotting!). I didn't want to buy expensive trainers as I didn't feel that I could justify the money for myself for something I was so bad at, but oh boy, I got a gait…

A few questions that might help to pinpoint what is wrong - What are your stats? Age. height, current weight and what have you cut your calories down to and how much more exercise are you doing now compared to what you did? Also, I haven't checked, but are your diary settings at public? Are you weighing all your food on a…

Could you be pregnant...?

Might be best to go to the doctor before you try again then in case it is something to do with your heart condition. Failing that, walking is excellent exercise. There are a few people on here who have had great success with it. You could even try the Leslie Sansone walking DVD's (which are actually harder than you might…

How many times has this happened? And how long in between? Seems very odd that EVERY time you up your exercise you get a cold. When I run I do get a runny nose, but it stops when I do. Also, if it's just a normal cold then I go running anyway, I have to be really ill (temperature etc, not just a runny nose and a cough) to…

Why is this a low carb thread? OP specifically asked for recipes that would go well with rice...?! I like to put some chicken breasts in mine (but you could use thighs if you wanted and shred off the bone), then throw in some BBQ sauce, garlic, chillis to taste and some apple cider vinegar and leave all day. Mmmmn, pulled…

@DX2JX2 Just seen this, thanks a million for your response. I do also wear a Camelback, so have my phone in the top back pocket, have the one earbud in over my shoulder and the other tucked into the pocket, not perfect but works kind of okay-ish. Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and go for the more expensive ones if…

I would advise you to stop doing keto. Any "diet" is hard to do with sensitivities. Don't over complicate or think you can only lose weight by following some plan. Just plug your stats into MFP, weigh, measure accurately and eat things that don't cause you problems until you reach your calorie goal for the day. Plan /…

I was so excited when I saw this thread as I have been looking for some bluetooth earphones for when I go out walking / trotting and was confused by the myriad of choice. I eagerly looked at all the ones mentioned and I think, apart from one pair, they are all up near the £100 mark. I can't afford that!! I have only just…

Dishes go straight in the dishwasher and wait in there until it's full and ready to go on. Seems a waste of time to put them in the sink then move them to the dishwasher once the sink is piled up. Also, we live in the countryside, so if you leave dirty dishes in the sink you are going to end up with cockroaches and lines…

Chop up a load of pumpkin and/or butternut squash, some carrot and onion, chillies if you like them (or any combination of those ingredients or other veggies) throw in some garlic. Roast, add stock and blend. If you want more protein / aren't a vegetarian, add some shredded chicken breast and some Tabasco sauce and it is…

What are your stats? Height, current weight, goal weight, male/female? How long have you been at this, if it's only a week, you will probably find your weight slows down as the first week or so will mostly be water weight. For example, if you are a tall male with a lot to lose, then yes, up your calories to 2000 and you…

I guess I do fasted cardio, but that's because I can't run if I've eaten anything, I feel sluggish, tired and nauseous. Can't say it's helped / not helped me to lose weight. Each to their own so I would say try it and see which you prefer. But if you are expecting to suddenly lose more weight then that's not going to…

Good on you for trying to find ways to get your weight up, but shakes are probably more expensive than food... If you struggles with eating more volume of food, then try going for nutrient dense foods, nuts, nut butters, avocados, cook food with oil, that kind of thing. Good luck with your journey.

Rubbish, utter rubbish. I'd get a new trainer. If you overate at the weekend, then the very BEST thing you can do is get in that gym and use up a few of those surplus calories. If you take the amount of calories you overate at the weekend and burn them off over this next week by doing a bit more in the gym, then by next…

I think dieselbyte was joking..... :D (He highlighted that even "THINKING" about training fasted would use "ALL" your muscle before fat...!! And I'm pretty sure that no matter how hard I "THINK" about training, it won't burn muscle OR fat...! ;) ))

That must be because I see you live in London. In the North of England it's not unusual or odd to take your leftovers. But you'd usually get it wrapped in tinfoil rather than in a special box. :D

Just a few starter questions... how tall are you, what do you weigh and how much are you aiming to lose? Do you weigh all your food on a digital scale / measure all your liquids with measuring spoons etc? Is your diary open? 2688 calories a day to lose weight does seem quite generous. You could try cutting it by 200 or…

I'm a grazer, I do have one larger meal at dinner time with hubby and daughter but the rest of the day is mostly made up of regular smallish snacks. A few slices of ham, then maybe a tomato, maybe a bag of crisps or 2-3 rice cakes over the day. My husband on the other hand is pretty much a three squares a day. Different…
