I've lost 120 lbs, from 350 down to 230... I've since gained 27 lbs back... I'm currently sitting at 257. Well, I was on Monday (Day 1 of Whole30). I'm on day 3.... doing okay. Been to the gym each morning, eating real food. Doing okay so far... I feel good. I get boredom "hunger" in the evenings. Last night I had to go up…

Club Fitness!!! Hi, I’m Jaclyn! I started my journey in 2009 at 350 lbs. I had a 2 year old daughter and realized that I had to change my life! I started working out, eating well, counting calories and making it work for me! I learned VERY quickly that if I didn’t plan my days ahead of time, I would end up in a drive thru,…

Thank you for the insight

Some days are better than others... Ideally, I would like the net to be between 1400-1500 per day... I usually eat between 1800-2200 per day before exercise.

My HR stays between 155-165 throughout my work out. I keep it up during Interval training cardio, and in between each set of reps while strength training i do 10 squats alternating with 10 lunges to keep the heart rate up. I don't "eat back"

I came to 1400 because when I was actively losing this was what worked

I use a polar HR monitor. And I assure you. I kick my own *kitten*.

Fat!!! Got it!! I avoid the Atkins products unless necessary. What do you mean I didn't Burn that many calories in an hour!!??? Huh!?? My net intake is at 1400

Thank you everyone! Yes, I do actually enjoy low carb. I still try to eat as clean as possible. I dont typically go for the shakes/bars but occasionally, I'll have one. For every 20 lbs I dropped my calorie goal, it's currently at 1400 NET for the day. The gym... I prefer strength training and cross fit over cardio, so…

THIS!!! With that being said... I had the Lap Band done about 5 years ago... I had her mentality. It took me about 3 months and 2 visits back to my surgeon to realize that this was hard work! The BIGGEST misconception about Bariatric Surgery, by not only the patient themselves, but the general public is that this is easy.…

Im starting this today.. Can anyone tell me what kind of weights I will need?

My boyfriend and I just started it last night, and I agree with the above posters.. .its no joke!! The fit test itselft was hard!!! I work out 6 days a week, and have lost 100+ lbs... and this is something like I've never done before. I'm sore today, and my boyfriend could barely move. ha!!! You can do it though, stick to…

I think the most important part is making sure your carbs are good carbs!! I dont eat anything white really... Brown or whole grain rice, sweet potoates, carbs from sugars, etc. Just be choosey with them. But dont be afraid!! :) Another thing Ive learned, is that it really depends on your activity level. I'm in the gym 6…

THIS!!!! I was so afraid of adding more carbs in my diet. But after meeting with a trainer, she informed me that I wasnt eating a good balance for carbs/fat/protein. I changed up the macros, and ate no more than 1600 calories per day. In 6 weeks I lost 16 pounds, gained 4 lbs of muscle, lost 9 inches overall, and lost 6%…

THIS!!!! Me too!!! I've had my Polar FT4 for about 2 years now. Its my 2nd one in 6 years. My first Polar only lasted about 3 1/2 years.. But I work out 6 days a week... I got my $100.00 worth!!! There's no way I'd ever work out without a heart rate monitor again!!!

dammit.. I cant figure it out...
-
YEP!!!! And if I could go back and do it all over again... knowing what I now know about nutrition and fitness... I never wouldve had the damn thing placed...

I suggest looking into seminars that your local surgeons conduct. They're typically free, and very informative. My Band was placed almost 5 years ago... At my lowest, I had lost 120 lbs. Yes, it works... to a point. Its a tool... not a cure. I work out 5 days a week and I'm on here... which means... Im counting my…

I had Lap Band 4 years ago, and I log in everyday. Friend me if you'd like.

Not a huge breakfast person myself... I dont eat typical things for breakfast either. last week I ate "tacos". 2 oz ground turkey meat, wrapped in a tortilla with some hot sauce. I also spread a Laughing Cow Wedge on the tortilla. This week I'm eating chili for breakfast. Ive been known to eat chicken salad, tuna salad,…

I AGREE!!! My heaviest was 330 lbs. I've lost 100 lbs, but at 5'7" and 230, I'm still overweight.
-
I agree with both of you!! This is SOOOOOOOOO not an easy way out at all.. I actually started a blog about my journey in April 2011 because I was tired of people thinking it was the band doing all the work. I try to blog weekly. Its called Eating For Real. Because let's face it.... I like food. Feel free to read/follow.…

I was banded February 2009. Starting weight was 330, I'm 5'7", and 230 now. ... Im down 100 lbs, and have IDEALLY 50 more to go. I'd be happy with 35. most days I like the band... other days I hate it. Pros and cons to everything I suppose. For you newbies... you HAVE to work at it. I really hope you understand that. I…
