Great Job! The beer will do it to you. I like my beer but try to do no more than 1 or two and save it for special occassions. A glass of wine once in a while is ok also. Hey, cannot remove the fun out of life altogether otherwise this becomes a very boring program. Remember all in moderation! Keep it up.

Amazing job on the weight loss. Bet your feel soo much better,

I bought a "cheap" and ended replacing it with a not so expensive well made unit. I have a Polar FT4 and it has given me outstanding service. Like BrianSharpe said in his post, there is cheap (stay away from those) and there is inexpensive. I would recommend one with a strap.

That is awesome, my A1C got as high as 6 which is terrible, I was taking Actos. Through a good eating regimen and exercise I have now been off Actos, or any diabetes medication for 6 months. My A1C at my last visit was 4.5. I know just how you feel!!! Keep it up and let us know when you get off the meds.

Awesome, wish you the best and congratulations on the outstanding job!

Personally I use the Polar FT4, I love it! had another one before and it was a pain to use. Polars are very user friendly.

You look fantastic! I have been in MFP half that time and you just gave me another shot of inspiration!

Dawn, You are dang right it is a GREAT start. 43 pounds is nothing to hide. The difference between both pictures is very visible. Keep it up!!! Celebrate your victories.

Also forgot to mention, that the exercise calorie count on MFP is rather accurate. I found that somewhat surprising. Remember all the calculation is based on your age, weight, heart rate, and what your maximum HR is for aerobic exercise. There are some decent calculators on the internet.

I use a Polar FT4. You can get that and it is less expensive than the FT7. It is a very capable unit. A friend of mine who is an exercise physiologist and personal trainer highly recommends Polar. You know the saying "you get what you pay for", I had bought a less expensive unit, a Sportsline Duo, and had to return it…

Would love to be able to do this. unfortunately I work 37 miles away in very haaaiiiirrrryyyy Atlanta traffic. I pray your area has better traffic, be safe, wear reflective vests, use flashers etc, etc. Remember there are way too many idiots out there texting and talking on their cell phones, putting make up on, etc. Those…

Awesome, love Tuna Salad, would probably use the nature's own light bread and make a sandwich. Will Try it out

I was in a "gunner" (Chief Warrant Officer - Explosive Ordnance Technician), in the United States Navy. Also worked on gun and missile systems.

The Taco bell Fresco is almost the same taco or burrito without any sour cream and cheese. In some restaurants it is the called the drive - thru diet menu. Yum Foods who own the bell has pretty standard menus throughout the USA. I get my fast food fix from these or from the McDonalds Grilled Chicken Sandwich, no mayo, no…

Awesome, Amazing, out of the park!, Outstanding, Excellent, damn I am running out of adjectives to describe your Huge (no pun intended) accomplishment. BE PROUD!!! you sure beat the hell out of the yahoos on TV on the Biggest Looser TV show, you did it the right way and took your time. All of us on MFP can look at you for…

Grain and complex carbs will help you feel fuller for longer. I always eat oatmeal, although not the healthiest one I confess. I use the Publix Brand low sugar. Also water, water, water. Water is your friend. I snack on oranges most of the time I want to snack and eat everything, except skin and seeds of course. If I want…

A friend of mine who is a personal trainer, and in fantastic shape i may add, swears by polar. I purchased a Sportsline and it was a POS. I quickly returned it to the store and got a Polar FT4. This does what I need it to do and I am happy with it.

Outstanding job, keep it up! you look great.

I get the footlong turkey breast and black forest ham with all the veggies and just about 1 tbsp of sweet onion sauce. It is a good meal. Stay away from the sides, the sandwich is good enough. If you get the 6 inch it will be less calories. I usually get it on the whole grain bread (forget what it is called). To compliment…

Agree. The scale is not the tell all. I have been stuck on the same weight for over a week now, but the clothing is looser, feel better, knees hurt less.... the scale is just a tool, albeit often times an evil one.

I eat most anything. I have had high blood pressure for over 30 years. In my case it is genetic. Stay away from high sodium or any salt content, stay away from processed foods. I eat a lot of made from scratch foods and fruits and veggies with no salt. I substitute a shot of vinegar or lemon juice for salt or seasoning.…

I listen to Christian Rock, like Stellar Kart, Switchfoot, etc. Just listen to what you like. I use Pandora on my Blackberry. If you have not tried Pandora you should. You can pick the music you like. If you want ad-free listening pay the 36 dollar annual fee, it is worth it. For my part I am perfectly content to listen to…

See the doctor. I use Nexium for GERD. There are other meds available and I am still able to eat hot sauce, peppers, garlic, etc. My doctor also says that the more weight I lose the less the GERD will manifest itself. Good luck, see the doc though.

Don't give up! I have hit a slight plateau but no gain. Make sure your goals are set correctly. I have a hard time calculating my burned calories when I exercise so maybe that is the problem. Shoot for not exceeding your caloric intake goal for the day, I know it's hard. Today someone tried to sabotage me unintentionally…
