Sigh. I'm doomed. Now I have to drive all over tarnation tomorrow searching the frozen dessert aisles of all the local grocery stores, Target, and Walmart for this mythical 150 calorie/pint ice cream. And I reasonably certain my taste buds will be disappointed. Which is why I'll justify grabbing a pint of Talenti Tahitian…

I absolutely love Pure Protein's cans - 35 grams of protein and they taste like a milkshake! I still find myself checking the nutrition info on the back of the can because they always taste too good to be true. Their protein bars, on the other hand, are just SO bad. In the past 9 months, I've probably tried every bar on…

After I joined MFP and saw the calorie #s I was logging, coffee was the first and easiest change I made to my diet. I went from calorie bomb full fat, sugary syrup mochas from my local non-chain drive thru most weekday mornings to plain old coffee with 2 tablespoons of half and half and 5 Splendas. 40 calories vs. 400 was…

This will seem like an odd combo, but, trust me, it is SO delicious: steamed broccoli tossed with melted crunchy peanut butter! There might be other ingredients… I'm a terrible cook and have no idea how to make it- it's my mom's recipe. I just get those steam-in-bag microwaveable mixed veggies, add herb butter and call it…

33 5'4" pear-shaped SW 259 CW 202.8 GW 129.5 (half my SW!) I eat 1300 - 1400 calories and burn 600 - 800 calories M - F at my gym (mostly just alternating cardio machines, but also take random aerobics classes, too) and go for a long (6 - 12 miles) hike on Sundays. I began this crazy trip down the scale back in September…

I set my goal to 1200, but I'm good as long as I'm under 1300 most days. My diary is wide open, so take a gander. 1200 - 1300 may not seem like a lot of calories to most people, but I choose lots of little protein-rich stuff that fills me up. And best of all, most weeks I lose 2+ pounds without feeling like I'm "dieting"…

Congratulations! What an incredible tale of triumph! If you can lose 200, I can lose 80. I'm so glad MFP helped you, because now you're helping me and many others on MFP. I've never heard of the magazine, but I'll buy it if I see it when your feature appears in May/June. :)

It should be: You can't out exercise a bad diet* followed by a paragraph of fine print. In general, you really can't out exercise a bad diet, day after day. However, if it is not a daily occurance, and know how many calories you went over your deficit, AND you have a HRM, you can hit the gym/treadmill/whatever and burn off…

I've tried every which way to cram in as much protein and limit the carbs and fat, and I'm here to tell you the quickest, easiest and best tasting way to do it is by drinking 1 - 2 cans of Pure Protein. Each can has 35 grams of protein, 4 grams of carbs, 1 gram of fat. Two cans = about half the protein I need daily. I…

I don't have kids, am 3 years older and 30 pounds heavier than the OP. I've lost about 50 pounds and have another 80 to go, but as the # on the scale gets smaller, I find myself checking my breasticles in the mirror for signs of sag. None to report yet, but I still have plenty of fat to lose. At my thinnest adult weight…

Thank you for describing exactly how to make these noodles. I have a package of no calorie/no carb noodles that has been sitting in my fridge for a week because I had no idea how to make anything with 'em. Rinsing/dry frying must be the secret... they look yucky in the bag! But I'm all for zero carb/calorie noodles. Plus,…

I mainly use MFP's app for logging my food. I use a Polar HRM when I exercise, but it doesn't sync to MFP, so log my burns separately on Polar's app. I love precise data so I don't mind using two separate apps for calories in/out. I think the only times I use MFP to log exercise are when I'm not wearing my Polar HRM and…

I agree, your mother knows best. Losing weight is mental warfare. Every single day. Once you decide that you want to live your life in a healthy, happy, fit body, you'll be willing to wake up earlier, exercise, eat healthy food, go to bed with deliciously sore muscles, and a smile on your face.

Wow. That was a warm Krispy Kreme glazed donut for this 1200 calorie dieter soul. You, Mr Magic Fingers, need to write a nightly dose of awesome. I'm going to need more of this glazed feel good stuff tomorrow night.

When I'm craving something bad, like a Toblerone bar or Nutella, I have a mental war of sorts... 'If I eat this, I'm going to feel like [poop]. And all my MFP friends will see my shame." Usually I eat whatever it is I'm craving, just not the whole bar/jar. That's an improvement! Hah;)

I began seeing less of my double chin and feeling, then seeing, my collar bones poking out at about the 20 pound/2 month mark. Friends, family, my boss, etc. (frustratingly) have only just begun to comment/notice over the past 2 weeks, when I had already lost 40+ pounds over the past 5 months. When I put in this much…

I've got a number and a looming deadline to reach my first goal. I hope to step on my scale on Monday morning (1/27/2014) and look down and see 219. I started at 259, so seeing 219 will mean that I've lost 40 pounds! My weight loss really slowed down around Christmas; I've been slooooowly making my way down through the…

Count me in! You all rock! I became more and more motivated as I read through all your posts. :) SW: 259 CW: 224 My "50 lbs by June Challenge" goal: 170 UGW: 129 (my secret fantasy is to make it into next year's "Half Their Size" issue of People magazine! lol) I've lost 39 pounds doing my own version of a low carb/high…

I saw my highest weight (259) in November '13, and became downright MAD that I'd allowed myself to do this to my body. I was tired of being tired allllll the time, felt uncomfortable in my fat girl clothes, and just could not imagine facing another year, five, twenty like that. The anger hasn't gone away; it has fueled me…

Almost daily, I dip into the 3.5lb bag of milk chocolate chips that sits on my kitchen counter. I bought the bag at Costco back in November, when I started this journey down the scale, specifically so I'd have something sweet to turn to. I'm still addicted to sugar, but I'm slowly weaning myself off with the help of the…

On Monday morning, I got in my car and had to adjust the driver's seat several inches UP and forward closer to the steering wheel! I had noticed my jeans were easier to pull on, but for some reason adjusting the seat was more tangible proof that I've lost 39 pounds. My built-in big butt cushion is shrinking!

At last year's extended family Christmas get together, in front of 25 - 30 cousins, aunts, uncles, etc., my 80-year-old grandmother loudly exclaimed when I arrived fashionably late, "Oh my! You've grown so much since I last saw you!" ...Awkward chuckle... Umm, thanks, grandma...! Bless her heart, she said it in the same…

I pre-made this week's dinners over the weekend, so I'll just be heating up a baked sweet potato with honey/cinnamon, tilapia and steamed brocolli/carrot/cauliflower mix. Yum!
