is "fat burning zone" a real thing? It always seems like the weight loss programs on cardio machines are way easier than anything else. Doest it make you burn more fat to do a hard workout? I dont understand

I have lost weight, but I am medicated. I think if anything we are just more sensitive. And even with regular blood tests you never know when the levels could drop.

thanks !

bump. Anyone? I dont have a HRM so its really hard to know. For example, yesterday as part of my workout I ran 4 laps around the track, alternating jogging and sprinting. How would I log something like that?
-
That happened to me as well but I was going through lots of emotionally stress, I assumed it was from that.

i think 1200-1500, eat back your exercise cals.
-
um, thats the best kind of motivation :)

cheap drug store mascara and chapstick..lol

Im still not sure how measurements give an accurate body fat %. For example, my thighs are always smaller the less I work out. I dont really mind having huge thigh muscles, but the circumference is higher than it was when I started MFP.

are you on medication ?

I have a jar of almonds in my dorm room. If i find at the end of the day I have not reached my goal then I eat however many i need. about 10 = 80 cals so it doesnt take that much, and they are so good for you

Just tell them you want to prepare your own food. They are your parents, they will understand even if they are offended. Or you can cook with them and make your own version.

people of any and all sizes have eating disorders. This is hard to imagine, and its why so many people with ed dont think its a problem. typically people who purge and demonstrate signs of bulimia are at a "normal" weight. You should get help while you still have some desire to because that will change the further into…

3 options 1) suck it up and chew a piece of gum 2) cry 3) eat a sweet. I always have leftover calories from working out.
-
the 4 classic options (banana, pear, hourglass and apple) leave alot of people out. Myself included. Ill try to find a link i used a few weeks ago, but basically it classified me as a "top hourglass" and a banana bottom haha.

My birthday is May 21st. I want to be able to buy a new pair of jeans, size 4. That is my goal! I also am planning to calorie cycle till then, unless it is not working.

imagine walking with a 50 lb backpack all day. you would burn more

shots shots shots ! No but seriously, SO MUCH BETTER calorie wise than cocktails. I usually encourage my friends to drink somewhere where there is dancing. I am hardly ever tempted to eat when I could be bouncing around on the dancefloor. Plus I usually burn the calories I drink if i dance hard enough, which I do haha.…

I like when people call me out on having a bad day, and knowing that I cant keep my mistakes a secret makes me not want to make them. I think accountability is one of the best parts of MFP.

because after initial weight loss a calorie is not just a calorie. All calories are not created equal. Sodium is also something people often eat to much of and then wonder why the scale reads a higher number.

honestly im not sure. In highschool I was a size 2 but I was 135 lbs, I have always had a really high BMI. Im going to try to get to a size 2 or 4 but I dont know how much I will weigh at that point.

I was in this situation for a while, and broke up in february. He still tells me that I am the love of his life and he will never be in a relationship again. But I had to do it. It wasnt fair to either of us to stay in the relationship when I wanted to be somewhere else, with other people. Hurting someone you love sucks, I…

lol same this just made me feel huge...my goal weight is like the average starting weight on this thread.
-
I usually plan each night for the next day, but thats really as far as I can go.
-
you should log them! We all make mistakes, but a huge part of learning from them is coming to terms with them. Denial wont help make changes.
-
I think that is a huge problem with dieting. Maybe you should take it one step at a time. Try to just stay below your calories for a while, then cut out one thing and gradually form a healthier lifestyle. For me it is actually easy most of the time because it was a natural progression. The hardest part for me now is when…

im trying calorie cycling to get out of a plateau. Try it maybe ? Im not sure if its working yet.

tracking that stuff is really hard! I work preparing food in the dining hall and im constantly picking at it. Thankfully, you can log 1 tortilla chip, or 1 pretzel, so I would just try to keep track, ballpark. There is also an option of adding quick calories, so if i feel like i underestimated how much i eat i add like 50…

STRENGTH TRAINING. the more muscles you have the more calories you burn all the time. aka increasing your metabolism.
