I know i need to increase my calorie intake but to be honest, Im scared ****less. I have been at 1200 for over a year. I lost about 40 lbs in the first 7 months ish but I have not lost anything since august. The fact that I am maintaining at 1200 is clearly a problem. Im scared to increase because I have tried this before…

Yes, my metabolism has had alot of poor eating to deal with. I regularly starved myself in Highschool and this past summer in Haiti I was incredibly sick and ate way below 1200. This is very interesting. I like the idea of slowly increasing.

Hmm this is all good info. Just to clarify, I do have hypothyroidism which contributed to weight gain. That combined with the pill, terrible sleeping habits and no exercise caused me to gain weight. I was probably eating between 1600-1900 I day. So i guess you are right, I did eat that much at one point.

I was always the chubby kid, despite the fact that my parents were and are health nuts and wouldnt let me use any electronics till I got my "daily exercise". In highschool I had disordered eating to combat my innate chubbiness, I ate dinner because thats the meal my family would notice if I skipped. Needless to say, that…

Yes I tried for a month to increase.

9 lbs to go, I know BMI is problematic but TOM and water weight still push me back to an unhealthy weight range. I want a little more distance from that red line haha

I eat `1200 a day

Im in such a similar situation ! I have about 10 lbs to go and i have been zigzagging between 132 and 127 since august ! ahhh im in better shape in terms of running but I have not lost any inches or weight. I have tried calorie cycling etc. I have tried increasing my calories. NOTHING is working. I started at 173 lbs so I…

Personally I prefer the treadmill, but this is a recent switch. I hated it and swore by the elliptical, but now Im in much much better shape and I find I get a much better workout on the treadmill. I use the elliptical for a chill cardio day. yesterday, for example, I didnt have the energy to run do I did the eliptical for…

Its a combination of a lot of things. Obviously exercise and portion control helped me lose weight, along with MUCH healthier food choices. But I do think its interesting that WHENEVER i travel to other countries with less processed food I lose weight, regardless of exercise or anything like that. In france I did not eat…

AHH i feel you. I have been stuck on these last 10 lbs since august. I lose 2, gain 3, lose 4, gain 2. Its incredibly frustrating. Months of seeing no difference has caused me to slack and that obviously doesnt help. I

IMO DONT pay attention to fats, fiber and especially protein. For me, a healthy day is going over in fiber and protein. That is not what you should be paying attention to. Im confused as to why you are both at 1200 for 1lb per week, that seems too intense. Usually 1200 is for 2 lbs per week. So unless you are both tiny !!!…

yep me too. Its not that im not hungry, its that i know it will make me feel worse if I do something like binge. When Im happy and relaxed I lose my motivation
-
yes 100%. if im upset or feeeling bad about myself i know that being healthy and working out will help make me feel better. Unfortunatly, its hard for me to stay motivated when im happy
-
me me me ! Im 21, 128 trying to get to 120
-
yep its normal! your fat is shrinking faster than your skin. Dont worry!
-
YES They will. Its normal for people to change shape differently. Just keep doing what you are doing. Those workouts can be squat heavy sometimes, which can bulk you up temporarily but keep going !

yess this **** sucks. Even now im as size 2-4 with a 36D and running sucksssss. Gap body recently made a really good one, and underarmour is good too. But good bras are expensive!

i love luna bars so thats a fast go to for me. Also I have been putting some almond butter on a rice cake and heading out the door these days, works out for me!
-
I eat peanut butter and almond butter almost every day. Its completely possible to include it in a healthy diet.

Not to get into this whole debate but eating back all your exercise calories can hurt your progress, especially if you are overestimating your burn.
-
mostly i think that it depends on body fat%. My BMI was overweight for a while but i was wearing a size 4 so really it depends on your body composition.
-
for me the weight is only 1 or 2 lbs but i literally have to wear leggings the entire week before my period because of bloat.

I love indian food ! Many indian dishes are cooked with heavy cream. Stay away from those, unless they let you switch it for coconut milk.(still pretty high cal though) A safe bet is to skip breakfast (sorry! dont yell at me its just 1 day!) and order something without a cream sauce. veggie heavy. and honestly i think…

haha i actually appreciate this because I do feel like its harder for women. Especially women who are barley 5 ft tall (me) . and it would make sense if humans only used food as fuel but we dont, we use it as a form of socializing, dating, relaxing etc. Not making excuses though! just sharing my thoughts.

how much protein would you suggest?
-
Thanks everyone! I think sodium might be a factor, I work at a chinese restaurant so I get a free meal with every shift. Usually I have them make me healthier versions of things but some days that is not an option. Last week I thought it was TOM but i have gained more since than so im not sure... I am aware that MFP can be…
