  • I want to express my sympathies, it must be a nightmare. My mother is Schizoid (not Schizophenic) and as a result has done a lot of damage to my siblings and myself. Can't relate to your issues - my mum doesn't manipulate or set out to hurt us - she's just completely detached and absolutely neglectful.
  • Worked for me too, although I will say it has trained me to eat healthier - I cannot feel satisfied eating chocolate, it MUST be vegetables because you can eat sooo much more. One chocolate bar is like your whole days calories - so not worth it anymore. Change sucks but for me, it's for the better.
  • I've been thinking about getting a breast enlargement. But it's going to cost over $7000 - which is so much money. Also I am finding as I lose weight my breasts are looking better and better - they have always been on the small side and gravity is reaching for them (I am 35) but they are nicely shaped so I'm not sure what…
  • Is this a joke? Not all milk is dairy based.
  • *shrug* at least she's not having human babies. Also although you say she is irresponsible she did manage to scrape the money together to care for her other pets including one that belonged to your mum until it died. I don't know the circumstances but it might not have been unreasonable for you to contribute to the costs…
  • Our tuna has ring pulls.
  • sandstorm - darude
  • LOL, I'm most like someone from Etheopia! (sp) I have less body fat than 96% of women in my age group in my country. BTW, it's because I'm older. imo. I'll check it for a younger woman after dinner. :P
  • Well day 1 is done I journalled my day (not sure how to spell that) internet was easy - I used about 1 hour without trying. But I do reach for my phone when I'm upset. Interesting finding. TV was HARD - so hard. It's so easy to sit on the couch and watch - I also have taped shows that I can watch. I think I watched around…
  • Thanks for all the responses guys! I have decided to start tomorrow, but I'm starting SLOW. I will allow myself 2 hours to surf the net and 3 hours to watch tv in a 24 hour period. Starting tomorrow. I'll tighten this up to 1 hour of surfing and 2 hours of tv as I adjust. :) I will probably just keep it at this lowered…
  • lolz - I thought of this - we need to prepare right? I am thinking for my 24 hours I will switch my iphone off before bed and put it away. (after notifying peeps on fb and here that I won't be around) Next day go to the mountain (we have one nearby) have a picnic and hike with the family. Go home, eat dinner. Cry. Fight.…
  • http://www.snopes.com/medical/myths/8glasses.asp lol, nope!
  • Eating junk food or too much food in general 'breaks' your metabolism? State your source! I know being overweight speeds up metabolism - but I've never heard of a 'broken' metabolism. I have heard of people developing type 2 diabetes, is this what you meant?
  • I bought some from Aldi when they had a sale on. They are all too small, I didn't know that the bigger - the easier - so go big!!! Up to your belly button when it's on the ground in front of you if you can. The bigger the better and the easier - the kids use mine because I can't. :(
  • I have lied too. When I first started here I had a terrible habit of overeating. I was really ashamed of myself and lack of self control. On my wall I often lamented that 1200 cals weren't enough... mate, 3000 would have been more achieveable... So I would only log up to 1200 - or a bit over and then I would just hate…
  • I am on week 6, day 2. I was really scared to do week 5 too. But I did it. I lowered my speed because I figured I could work on that anytime - the goal is to finish the 20 mins. As a side note, I asked the kids to go outside and play while I did the C25K for the 30 mins (I wanted privacy for my scary 20 min run) and I had…
  • Yes, this site has replaced fb for me. This is fun, has a wall and also has the forum section (which fb doesn't have) I feel safer talking about more private things on here, with people who don't know me in real life.
  • My current best fitness equipment is my smartphone. I use mcp app on it. If I had a free $1000 to spend I personally, would get * Some pretty workout clothes. * Expensive (and pretty) running shoes. lol. * Zombies Run! app (for iphone) * New earbuds for iphone. * Arnold Schwarzeneggers body building encyclopedia * With the…
  • You know what I reckon makes us fat? Food. Not even the 'wrong kind' of food - just food. I think our whole society is geared towards making us want food, I think there are too many ads on tv for food, too many billboards advertising food, too many sports events sponsered by food companies. Ad infinitum. And too many news…
  • You guys should post pics of yourself wearing them - I've never seen a person (heavy or skinny) pull them off successfully. I think they look yukky and would never wear them.
  • They have hundreds of contributers - including me. The editors are very strict about properly sourced articles.
  • There is a 10k runner program, I downloaded the free app to my iphone yesterday. It carries on from c25k - is this the type of thing you meant?
  • Dorkaleena - I love your name! Hugs and kisses from me, we all have bad food days, and bad husband days. Chin up! Tomorrow is a new day! :D
  • The point is - the 8 cup baseline is wrong and always has been. If *you're* more comfortable drinking 8 cups or more - then do it, but forget the idea that we all need 8 glasses every day.
  • There is water in everything we eat. The original and WRONG calculations never took this into account - leading to the wrong advice for everyone to drink 8 glasses as the gold standard. (It's hard educating know it alls)
  • http://www.snopes.com/medical/myths/8glasses.asp It's a MYTH people. If YOU believe YOU need more water - or must have 8 glasses (or cups) or think YOU need to drink instead of eat etc, that's fine. But never tell anyone they *should* have 8 glasses of water a day. If your Dr gives you this advice ask them what they are…
  • Thanks for posting this. This myth persists and won't go away. So annoying. People prefer to be ignorant. It has been debunked soo many times now - including on Dr OZ, he proved that extra water intake (drinking when not thirsty) has no bearing on your health/ weight loss etc.
  • Let her know she's amazing! Anyway, finding new friends is fun - I always enjoyed dating and was sorry when that ended. (being married is fun too though) But I have waited a long time for a new bestie though - where is she? lol.
  • I 'lost' my best friend in Feb last year and have had a hell of a time trying to find someone to replace her. I work hard to meet new people, but I'm really, really picky. I have found that most lonely people with no friends are socially LAZY. I meet tons of new people (I have met at least 30 since December) but they are…
