I would say take an honest look at what you do during the day and then eliminate what doesn't do much for you - something you can do without and replace it with exercise. Much like the food - eliminate and replace.

^^^ I agree with you. I would know if I was starving myself, wouldn't you know if you were doing the same to you? Each to his or her own.

I have had this happen. In fact, my very first week it was like that and I didn't even want to see food. You are not doing anything wrong - it's just your body talking to you and being revved without you needing to eat all that much. As for the calories burned - I also had this issue with a high number, but I now (at the…

Everyone will have that eventual "now is it." That's why we can never give up. Good luck to you :)

I think your heart, mind and soul should drive the desire or lack thereof to be married. Any other reason is just not big enough, in my view, to make such a big decision.

We are friends now :)

I focus mine on protein and spreading them out, because protein fills you up. Get some protein powder and soymilk - when you get really hungry have 4 oz. and let it "sink in" for 30 minutes. Eat negative calorie foods - these are vegetables that the body spends calories on digesting. I also learned since last week that…

You have lost 10 pounds :) The "friends" I have happen to be very active online and actually communicate.

I think that when a person comes to these boards, looking for help and they are honest - who here really has room to pass judgment? Eating unhealthy and carrying around large amounts of excess of weight is bad too, right? It increases the change of heart disease, cancers, arthritis and the list goes on. We would never yell…

First, I think your honesty is great. Tobacco is known as an appetite suppressant. Marijuana is a little different in that it has two main strains. One is the sativa which affects your brain and "ups" your energy which is why one would be thinner if smoking that. The Indica works on your sympathetic nervous system and…

Thank you for your input :)

I am on 1,200 calories a day. For me, it's all about the protein - it fills me up and keeps me going. I have already figured out that I need to take in my carbs early in the day and stay with protein as the day progresses.
-
I am not a vegetarian, but do not eat that much meat. Chicken, turkey and seafood. Having said that; I found you a comprehensive list of items with good levels of protein in them. When you go to the page, scroll down to see the list: http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/protein.php

I am impressed with you. Great post and owning your own destiny. Add me - support is key. Be happy for yourself that you are taking this step. It sucks, but it sucks even worse to do nothing about it. Don't disappear on us :)

Thank you!
-
Thank you; that is very kind of you. I will add you right now.

Do you know your level? Mine went down to a mere 10 :( I am supposed to be at 50-80. No wonder I have had major struggles. I take 50,000 IU drops per day because now the sun has left town and fall has set in.

We can and will do this.

Ups and downs. UT and LSU coming up for Bama; it is going to be exciting.

This is so true.

Can anyone here tell me how to get rid of the ticker, by the way? It isn't working.
-
Thank you for the suggestion. I am not aiming for that much of a deficit - my calorie intake stays at 1,200 or above. The deficit happens from my exercise so I am comfortable with it because it is not from "starving" myself.
-
What's great about this is that I made mistakes - what if everything had been perfectly run and I still only lost 1 pound with a 8,400 deficit? At least I can do something about this.
-
Roll Tide ;)

HAHAHAHAHA!
-
I don't eat any of it back. I stay with my daily calorie intake goal. My "ticker" shows 0 weight loss but I have lost. I guess it doesn't work. Can't remember how to get rid of it.

Don't forget your protein intake. And, all the other nutrients that matter in repairing and building muscle.

Just because someone doesn't agree doesn't make them rude or unsupportive. It's all in the delivery of the message, some times. What works for one may not work for another; it doesn't make it wrong. It just makes it what it is. If someone says detoxing works for them, and they are healthy more power to them. We don't have…
