I started the C25k today, and it was tough, but I got through day one. Today has been a terrible diet day for me. We celebrated my 15 yr old sons birthday with Chilis and birthday cake. I brought home more than half of my dinner, and I only had a small piece of cake, but the tequilla shots I've enjoyed this evening…

For those of you that have been working on the C25k challenge, did any of you purchase the internet program, or do you just use the website to guide your workouts? I couldn't figure out the reason for purchase, but I might have been missing, or misunderstanding something in the description. I am going to start the C25k…

Because you're more interesting to watch than grass... Why is that only children can open child proof bottles?

Good evening all... Just before work this morning, I had a truly, make me smile kind of moment. I put on an expensive pair of dress pants that had previously had to go into plastic because my hips had simply outgrown them. . Well this morning they fit and I had a little space to spare in the hips and waist. I was…

Thanks to all of you. I intend to get up early to work out alone. ( I'll need the alone time and working out is a great excuse.) None of them are prone to waking further than to the mailbox, but no one would be bothered by my exercising. It's just difficult because they tend to make a spectacle of anything that they…

Thank you guys for the good info. I will check it out and see if I can get going with the program. I also am hoping to keep all of the energy up. I am headed on vacation to Ohio. I'll be hanging out with my family and they're feeders. They don't think I'm happy unless they're feeding me day and night. Its hard to say no,…

I have seen several posts on the site about the C25K program. What is it and where can I get information? I am doing everything that I can to keep my workouts interesting. I am not a runner by any means, but I would like to train and get better at it so that its another option for me when I'm not feeling like jumping on…

I am just joining this thread, but please let me know what you think of the Shimmy workout. I never seem to be able to catch it on TV. I enjoyed Adrianna's belly dancing so please let me know what you make of Shimmy. I currently kill myself at a Cross Fit gym, use the Wii Active and my elliptical trainer that I…

MFP is a great place to start working on your goals. Just take it one step at a time and know that all of us are working hard to get to our individual goals and that you aren't alone. Feel free to friend me, if you like and best wishes.

Because someone left the lights on. Why do birds sing?

Welcome. I don't think you'll find a more supportive community, whatever your goals may be there's always some one willing to extend a helpful response and well wishes. :flowerforyou:

I was just about to ask a similar question. I have an elliptical machine at home, and I use it fairly regularly. I use the chest strap HRM and my workouts show 150 to 200 calories less than what the site says for the same time frames. As much as I'd love the extra credit  I don't want to hinder my own progress. I…

Congrats!!! I can't wait to see the same type of results. The Layne Bryant bras are killing my pocket book.

There are actually several T series Suunto HRM's and a couple are just a little over $100.. Is there one in particular I should look at, or are any of the T series a worth purchase? Keeping in mind, I just want to monitor during my 30 min to 1 hour workouts and know that I'm maximizing my efforts. I won't be doing…

Sure. I thank you both for the good info. I am going to just have to try to adjust to the idea of wearing a chest strap, I guess. I don't run any marathons, and I am not a serious athlete, so I'll have to decide if the cost is worth it for me. Thanks again. :flowerforyou:

This is a little off the topic of your original post, but I was wondering why the HRM's with the chest strap are considered better than those that you can just touch the face of the watch for your heart rate? It is my understanding that the touch face watches and the chest strap work with similar ECG technology? I have a…

Is it too late to start with this challenge? I'd like to see if I can do as well as the rest of you. :flowerforyou:

You're the first person that I've seen on here that participates in Cross Fit. I just started with them here in Austin, and I love it!! I have yet to see the results, but its so much fun that I just keep going and sweating like a nut. You're right, no one there cares anything about looks or other superficial nonsense…

After I read all, or most of the posts for the challenge, I hope that I am logging this correctly. Completed the Initial Test (exhaustion test) tonight- 39 Situps completed and I will be starting with Week 3 workout. Please correct me if I'm confused. Thanks :flowerforyou:

Hello... and welcome to MFP. So far as reducing calories, if you don't want to get rid of the alcohol all together use less caloric mixers and chasers. That should help some. Cutting it out or down to no more than a couple per week is probably going to be your best bet, but trust me as a lover of Tequila its not easy. Just…

I love it!!! I am the Fat Kid at my gym. I almost always have on the way tooo big T-shirt (including odd sayings). The butt jiggles, I sweat profusely (mostly because I live in Texas, work out in a garage style gym, and its usually somewhere between 80-105 degrees depending on the humidity). I am always the last one in…
